Ecuador, Oil & Massive Corruption

What finally enabled Rene Ortiz, as noted in the AP piece to wake up and begin to do what he was blocked  from doing a long time ago: stating that the government of Ecuador, commencing under Lucio Gutierrez and expanded under Palacio,  is involved in a massive government-backed racketeering case if anyone would bring it forward? Why did Ortiz listen when he and his oil producing company colleagues were advised to GET OUT and drop their holdings and flee?______ Possession is 9/10 of the law.

What prompted Rene Ortiz to finally do his job and stand up against the "wise" advisors of informational brown outs who has become a Greek Chorus to silence anyone and any business that might utter one tiny word against the ever amassing state kleptocracy building in Ecuador?___ Their mantra is that silence is golden and of course that any who utter one word that the reality exists that criminality is on the march will face....reprisals.

Oil companies are blackmailed, Ortiz says, by indigenous....less that 10% of Ecuador's population. The USG needs-must foster decent allies...not hurt them.

Blackmailed by their indigenous, so the claim goes,.....who are also in some provinces today hit by marketeers selling their Indigenous....oil futures contracts and hedging instruments....when the Indigenous neither know what this is about nor can many read or write. Then again, most do not know what these "financial speculative deals" mean. Others simply take the per diem and join the day workers as "protesters" for hire. Some even protest against the Chinese oil fims , operating in Ecuador, advocating hostage taking, claiming that the Chinese discriminate against the locals.

What we have  looming in Ecuador is a massive racketeering case which pits the Correa-Chavez oil speculators/ governmental agents and politicians against the oil hedge hawkers to the Indigenous for dubious achievement awards. We believe that all these actors have much to explain...and detail for their role in hawking "futures deals" to the Indigenous as well as the abuse of the Indigenous as paid protesters and for tossing Ecuador off a cliff in self enriching schemes.
