Rafael Correa Threatens to Complete Self Coup/auto golpe and Seize full Powers in Communist Take over Before Friday

February 11, 2007    Reprinted here from the 2-11-07 Miami Herald is the short version of  Ecuadorean president Correa’s extortionary public threat to force the Congress of Ecuador to suspend their constitutional obligations and suspend all credulity as well, and hand Correa all power in Ecuador or else he will simply reinsert his own fake shadow courts to create his own fake shadow constitution for his own very real communism, called fake democracy, which he pledged will mimic his beloved Cuba under Castro.

Correa needs this win for his home team take-over in five days because the spin on his lies and self-enrichment schemes is coming unglued. More and more international media are calling Correa for what he is: a liar, a criminal, and destroyer of structural democracy.

Besides, soon enough Correa’s offshore derivatives leeches will move on- in about 5 days. He cannot wait to make his margin calls in these criminal offshore arbitrage raids, also called dirty financial instruments, against the people of Ecuador: that is his time frame, which he calls his political time frame. This is correctly called the politics of financially robbing a nation’s patrimony and destroying its economic future. There is no immediacy in a real time line for inserting Correa’s demands for his new communism.

There is an immediacy in a time line for Correa’s controls over Ecuadorean laws to hide his own criminal adventures in market manipulation, investor deception, and financial scandal as he removes oil revenues from the people in partnering not with Ecuadoreans but to fill Chavez’s depleting bank accounts. This then is the new economic alliance of Correa and Chavez to bet the bank- the state of Ecuador’s bank- on hidden market schemes using their state assets/the very future of all Ecuadoreans, as backing.

Rather than ceding to Correa’s backed goons- the well paid, violent golpistas- the Congress of Ecuador must demand full transparent due diligence from this violent self coup monger. In fact, it is increasingly apparent that the international media has it right this time: Correa is destroying Ecuador’s economy to make some quick insider, market manipulative bucks in the speculative markets, itself also a crime. This is no benign raid.

Impeachment and a jail sentence is the more appropriate response to this criminal gang and its well paid goon squad. If Correa gets what he wants: all hands on the levers of power in Ecuador, there will be nothing and no one to stand in his way. Just ask the opposition leaders in Venezuela. They too made a deal with Hugo Chavez to install a new constitution. All they got were lies, a pseudo religious cult of loonies who chant praises to their dear leader Hugo, a failing nation, and the back of Chavez’s hand as the Iranian Hezbollah-style take over begins. Next time it will be a heavy boot- the heavy boot of Iranian style controls. Today, Correa’s cult of thugs and loonies chant songs of praise to Che Guevara. Soon enough this will include the cult like chants in praise of Chavez and Castro…and Ahmadinejad of Iran. This Hezbollah-style regional Axis has already agreed to their plans. The only legitimate group capable of stopping this take over is the Congress of Ecuador and its own people. Correa has said they have five days or else he will seize what he wants by any means necessary. Correa’s illegal threat to hand him all  powers is a threat that must be removed/rescinded or he should be removed. In five days.

As Robert Frost reminds us, one cannot both defend liberty and install communism and be one traveler. Two roads for Ecuador have diverged in a single place. How will they travel? Will they be distracted and be real “idiots” as Mario Vargas Llosa noted 2-11-07 in Spain’s Diario el Pais or will they act as responsible adults to defend their jobs, their schools and their futures from certain death?

By Friday, we will all know on whose side any stand. When death and freedom is on the line in a nation, turn coats against patriotism and cowards, whether by default, laziness or lame enabling excuses, are not appreciated. Stand and be counted! History is watching.

Ecuador's new leftist President Rafael Correa said Saturday that if the country's electoral tribunal does not rule on whether to hold a referendum on rewriting the country's constitution within five days, he will create a new court.

Correa issued a decree after he took power last month calling for the referendum. He says the measure is necessary to limit the power of Ecuador's traditional parties, which he blames for the country's problems.

''We'll wait until Wednesday or Thursday, and if there is no response, we will act as the popular mandate obligates,'' Correa said in a nationwide radio address.
