Insulza of the OAS Rejects Principles of Democracy and Refuses Fact-Based Analysis of RC TV Seizure and 57 Ecuadorean Congresspersons
May 10, 2007 The Editors at ECrisis commend Voice of America, VOA radio broadcast reporting on the illegally ousted 57 members of Ecuador's congress who dared to perform their constitutional obligation and simply ask Ecuador's Rafael Correa about his personal involvement in the latest round of bond market manipulations, a self enriching ponzi scheme for neo-communists, which Ecuadoreans do now have to cover their government-crafted bond market losses as a tax payer expense.
When no reply was forthcoming, the Congress, as is their legal obligation, inquired of Cuban trained Sandinista Minister of Economy Patino for a report of same, as he is beholden to reply. When Patino and Correa took umbrage with any who look for any semblance of transparency in their Venezuelan-Ecuadorean market scheme, Correa's goons forced out the Congresspersons at the point of a gun.
Ecuador's highest court has since confirmed that Correa and his goons acted illegally to forcibly and violently oust the legitimate majority of their Congress and acted under no constitutional authority whatsoever. Correa, it seems, is legally barred from tampering with Congress, precisely because their job is to ask questions and legislate. Instantly, and illegally, Correa hastily stacked and packed their congress with his puppets- never holding free and fair elections nor complying with Ecuador's extant constitution. When their highest court ordered the elected Congresspersons to return, Correa unconstitutionally fired the justices too. Correa's self coup is complete. He has illegally removed any that he could not fully control.
The ousted congresspersons, after experiencing numerous delays from the front office of the OAS chief Insulza, finally met on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 with the head honcho himself, and detailed the crimes against their persons, the denial of due process, the shredding of Ecuador's constitution, refusal to provide even handed law and order plus the removal of any security and safety as numerous congresspersons were almost murdered by the Correa and Chavez-backed goon squads.
The highest court in Ecuador ( which is available and clear for anyone to read) actually reviewed their constitutional law and determined correctly that Correa acted illegally and with dictatorial powers he is not granted. For this, the judges were also marched out and faced the Chavez and Correa-backed goon squads- a politburo of violent, paid actors. Today in Ecuador, there is no government and no healthy dissent permitted. Correa rules by totalitarian means through his unfettered abuse of Presidential Decrees.Any who say otherwise are liars or propagandists for those are the facts.
None of this matters to Insulza it seems. As Venezuela Topics reports here, Insulza, having met a week before with the principled leadership from Venezuela's RC TV regarding their matter before the OAS...and then hearing of Chavez's threats to cancel his membership in the OAS (no doubt believing that his neo communist bloc of Bolivia and Ecuador would go out the back door with him)...deemed Venezuela as a zone where human rights are fully respected.
Not only did Insulza reveal his spinelessness in the face of Chavez's threats by encouraging Chavez with his own incredible lie that all is well in Venezuela, but he showed even less spine with the Ecuadoreans. Insulza , we come to hear, claimed that both Venezuela and Ecuador are democracies because they held open and free elections and thus, he would neither do nor say anything because their leaders were legally elected, claiming technicalities which of course do not exist.
The Jimmy Carter theory that free and fair elections happen only to the highest bidder and the ones that can secure a false election under pre rigged basis, is not what we call democracy building. We care nothing for the foolishness that the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) chortles about LAC's democracy. The NED is, it turns out, badly compromised already through their close funding ties with the Soros-backed alternative democracy movement, sometimes aligned with the Chavez-Correa movements, and as such, decided that democracy needed no transparency whatsoever in order to form a more perfect union. This is objectionable.
We remind that Insulza, himself a prime example of a low level Chilean functionary- already deeply compromised through his thorough links to Chile's recent president who is today said to already be a Soros/alternative democracy - aka non-functioning democracy- consultant- and as such, Insulza it seems stayed true to form.
Insulza has failed the tenants of his high post at the OAS and must resign for his recent foolishness. The OAS democracy charter, such as it is, does indeed carry the cornerstone of definitional democracy. Democracy is far more than simply rigged or unrigged voting. Democracy exists if and only if free speech-free media exists, rule of law, even handed law and order and transparent separation of powers. Insulza appears to pretend to ignore this in order to form a more perfect union of criminals and communist money launderers inside the OAS, sometimes called the Bolivarian axis of evil. It appears that the self-coup of pro-Chavez actors has already taken over the functionaries of the OAS.
Even so, Insulza owes the members of the OAS and especially Venezuelans and Ecuadoreans an explanation as to why he sold out democracy in order to preserve a more perfect union of communists and financial scams in Latin America.
In Ecuador's case, the congresspersons were indeed legally elected- fair and square. Insulza seems to forget this fact in his rush to satisfy Correa and Chavez's political aspirations. At the least, Insulza must detail his reasoning.... did Insulza sell out democracy for political reasons alone or did he do so based on his crack staff's analysis of actual laws in both countries? In either case, Insulza must reveal his errant thinking and justify his decision making.
Insulza never makes decisions alone and for the life of us, we do not know from whom he actually takes his orders for it is surely not an impartial, even handed staff of jurists or legal analysts. Somehow we doubt that Insulza will perform a key element of his job and justify his reasoning although we are assured that more confusing/conflicting words of passive-aggressive inanities will surely follow, if his record stands. Insulza's job, it appears, is to enable the Chavez axis to thrive while rejecting any position of principle- on or off the record. He needs to go.
Listen to the VOA interview with the Ecuadorians- it is unusually sincere and factual as well as devoid of political bombast, fortunately. Tragically, such notions do not exist in Insulars decision making process. Today, Insulza has much explaining to do. Making decisions opaquely, without advise and consent, and ignoring his post to stand on principle to uphold what few laws remain in effect in Latin America and then selling out principled positions in order to satisfy HIS boss's demands that phony political excuses overwhelm principles leads us to conclude that Insulza must go.
There is a new sign on the front door at the OAS and it reads: For Rent to any who support nondemocratic behaviors.
Because Insulza, who never actually liked nor understood the USA, has sold out democracy and even handed law and order to his bosses. And frankly, his bosses [whatever denizens they may be] demand that transparent and even handed justice be denied. In Ecuador's case, it was at the point of a gun. For RC TV of Caracas, their free speech will end to support Chavez's market manipulations and force a larger media market share for RC TV's competitor- Chavez's own media conglomerates. A superb piece on Chavez's malingering acts is from Argentina's Emilio Cardenas here at El Diario Exterior.
Ecuador's congresspersons simply asked about Correa and Chavez's market manipulations with Venezuelan and Ecuadorean actors linked to who-knows-what black markets. RC TV stands in the way of Chavez's market manipulations. Both market manipulations by 2 governments, now conveniently married to self enrich, are now protected by Insulza in order to gloss over his commitment to enable this more perfect union of conveniently married dysfunction in the Andes which is a remarkably dysfunctional, criminal and aberrant marriage of convenience also called the Bolivarian Revolution of Chavez, Correa, Castro, Morales and Iran, with much support from Russia and it seems widely known- market manipulators.
Manipulation begets more manipulation.Thankfully, the OAS finally removed their support ads- yes promotionals- for the selling of Chavez's pre rigged Smartmatic voting machines. However, the Soros groups linkages remain not only electronically but in reality across the OAS. The current Greek chorus across the Soros groups, as also funded by US AID and repeated by the Carter Center that they are "worried" about Andean democracy because too much power is in one hand is a dereliction of duty because these leaders are already dictators by any definition and their paths are now unfettered. Carter and the US AID paid hacks are about two years late.Their unprofessional lack of honest analysis has been costly...to about 40 million Latins.
If Insulza's post at the OAS is to hasten the end of principles in Latin America, he has fulfilled his tasks in less than one week by stiffing the glaring principles of RC TV and stiffing the people of Ecuador on the pretextual/phony basis that democracy has spoken in the Andes. Insulza stiffed/sold out democracy and all liberty lovers in under one week. Democracy did not speak in the Andes at all and thanks to Insulza, it may not be saying much at all in the coming days, unless of course on Chavez's Al Jazeera affiliate, sometimes called TeleSur.
But we still ponder....from whom does Insulza really take his orders? As a good functionary, he does and always will as is his training and as such, we see that his orders are not in alignment with anything that serves any greater good, unless of course one actually thinks that Insulza, who is well known to make anti-US jokes, is actually funny. Who advised Insulza to sell out democracy and even handed justice and why did he do it?
By his hand, Insulza helped paint a sign on the back of freedom lovers across the Americas, particularly the principled positions held by RC TV and the illegally harmed members of Ecuador's congress. The sign he plastered on their backs reads, "Fire at Will." For due process, even by Insulza on behalf of the entire OAS, is denied and justice once more remains at the point of a gun.
No doubt, as we mentioned yesterday, these will be Kalashnikovs- Chavez's Russian Kalashnikovs. The Correa team of paid Cuban disinformatoin specialists promptly complained to the VOA that all is wonderfully well in Ecuador and that democracy is great. Try telling that to the family of legal congresspersons and judges whose lives are on the line daily. We call this unprincipled government backed propaganda and an effort to silence even the VOA, contrary to Al Jazeera, when it dares to report. Freedom lovers in the Americas should be offended by these communists complaining about freedom of the media.
Like all good Ecuadoreans who run away from their own moral compasses, refusing to act on principle to further enable Correa in order, as they explain, "to survive the Chavez-Correa take over," Insulza too ran away from whatever moral compass he may have once held. He sold out all principles in order to assist the Chavez-Correa manipulations. Any who sell out must depart. We remind Insulza, as we remind all Ecuadoreans, that while he and they may feel secure today, having assuaged these criminals, their days, too are numbered. They come for them next.
The same government market manipulators in self enrichment schemes and their NGO-aligned golpistas accomplished the removal of democracy in Ecuador. These same paid hacks attack RC TV in Venezuela. They have aligned against Colombia's Alvaro Uribe. They drove out democracy in Bolivia. They have aligned to force out any principled positions at the hapless United Nations and the feckless OAS. Now they attack the World bank and multilateral agencies not under their thumb ( or in their pocket). Their seeming self-coups, all of a page, are almost complete now. We remind: they come for you next.
