May 23, 2007  We appreciate a short piece reflecting their added insights shared with the open public,  from Publius Pundit which punches up a 5-17-07 ECrisis piece regarding US Senator Grassley's Senate Floor Speech  of 5-16-07.

While we agree with the writers, especially noting today's comments from Publius about Ecuador:
"It still needs to clean up its rule of law, its dictatorial consolidation of power and its theft of US assets ..."
we assert that this is just the short list of what Correa -Chavez- Iran are  up to as the List/ Dossier of Facts regarding Correa's criminalty grows and which no longer can be ignored or....rewarded.
 
Today we pay attention to a bizarre "press release" from COHA/Council on Hemispheric Affairs [which is neither bi partisan nor independant thinking nor respected at all outside the halls of Dodd and Delahunt's mischief to encourage Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro while keeping their mutually rewarding political donor Soros happy]  regarding their overt support for Rafael Correa's insistence that it is a good thing to tamper with free and fair arbitral fact finding/juried decision making as exhibited under the World Bank's arbitral courts where Occidental's multi billion dollar claim lies today. COHA, long an ally of Hugo Chavez and often seen as a  paid mouth organ for same, is overtly working with Correa-Chavez's team of disinformation specialists of the old KGB style tactics to disinform regarding OCCIDENTAL's position of grievances about the theft of its assets by Ecuador.
 
You can also see/review the COHA misinformation/propaganda against RC TV in support of Chavez's illicit seizure of RC TV which exhibits COHA's willingness to serve as a mouth organ for market manipulation, in this case the lie that RC TV must be shuttered because it offends when in fact it is nothing more than Chavez's craven effort to build a media market all his own by shutting down competition, as is the case. Problem is....Chavez's new media empire underway across the Andes buys its news feeds from AL JAZEERA and is a new partner with the Iranian News Agency, owned by the State of Iran, whatever that means ( mostly this means radical Mullah News). Replacing RC TV with fascist Mullah News from Iran is never a good idea. Ecuador is seeing the beginnings of same.

Note too COHA's reprint of a staged love letter/ note from Chavez's own propaganda office VIO, pretending solidarity with COHA viz COHA's propaganda to assist Chavez on National Public Radio, which of course should have pulled COHA-Chavez for lack of fact based analysis. The Venezuelan Information Office(VIO), now presumably also in bed with the Iranian news offices, and COHA co ordinate anyway. NPR needs to have an ethics in media check. COHA reader mail from VIO laughably applauds COHA for distinguishing Hugo Chavez on the "quality of his thinking." And COHA lied about RC TV on NPR and no one at all rebutted their slander.
 
COHA's press release on Ecuador- aka propaganda- is chock full of misinformation/disinformation. COHA does tell us basically that the Correa regime truly believes that mobocracy MUST replace rule of law in Ecuador and that contract law is a pesky matter that must be effectively dealt with by the mobs and propaganda. COHA lies about Ecuador's courts and their congress: all are controlled and padded fully by Correa who fully controls all arms of their government, which makes him....a dictator by any definition. COHA seems to relish its newfound role as propagandist for state backed theft. COHA appears wiling to try to build ballast to the Theft is OK theory that communists can ignore or reshape any laws they want theory...as long as the lie is upheld that somehow the "poor" are supposed to benefit.
 
Rafael Correa launched an intercecine Lobbying machine, starting with the InterAmerican Dialogue's presentation by Cesar [ aka I made a lot of money off of US AID thanks to the US taxpayers who never asked one question about what I really do] Montuffar and this "Attorney General/AG" of Ecuador before COHA, which appears to believe that they can impact public opinion to persuade the Bank's arbitral team. Ecuador's arbitral team, coordinating with Chavez's mouth organs at COHA, is led by Sandanista and Aristide intimate Paul Reichler.

Even as Montufar and GOE's AG were lying some more to the US public as well coordinated by their very own hired guns in Washington and before the U.S. government, Rafael Correa was busy attacking free speech and open media in Ecuador, using well staged dirty jokes theatrically parrotted by students on his Saturday Radio Address of May 19, 2007. Why no mother [or father] in Ecuador expressed outrage over this crass abuse of young people for dirty jokes indicates the Ecuadoreans' own failures to stand for principled living. Not one mother or father objected to Correa's deviancy to date, not even his bride who is supposed to be an educator herself. One can only wonder where he teacher's ethics stand as she said and did nothing about her husband's full abuse of young people.
 
As Larry Birns of COHA publicly said of Chavez....he shows his playful side. ...he is not cruel....perhaps Birns would call Correa "playful" too.

We call Hugo Chavez and Rafael Correa....aberrant, badly educated, dysfunctional, illicit, and in need of removal by legitimate means.

Larry Birns just hosted Ecuador's Attorney General (AG) as part of their leftist lobbying monkey business agenda to cause harm not only to the World Bank arbitral centers but also to the basics of rule of law in their unprecedented efforts to propagandize their way out of repaying OCCIDENTAL for their thefts.
 
As some now know, former president Gutierrez's former [and deeply flawed] ambassador to Washington, Raul Gangotena seeks, with his business partners [whatever that means today], certain financial  "business" in Ecuador to mysteriously devise some sort of financial doings with Correa's regime using U.S. tax dollars and other unindicated investor funds. The debauched state of Ecuadorean investor relations, if one could call such aberrations such, was more recently seen on video with Sandanista-trained Ecuadorean Finance Minister Patino in meeting with Argentine Carlos Abadi (who supposedly has a smallish office on Park Avenue in New York if memory serves) , more recently affiliated with VR, an extremely murky  Russian hedge fund, "Dubai investors" [ whatever that means], and Greylock Capitol of the UK and points opaquely offshore. 

For his part, Rafael Correa now claims- after what 3 months-? that he ordered the videotaping of the Patino meeting to detail how to illegally manipulate bond markets by the huge profiteering made by Correa's own market manipulations of same viz derivatives, rumored by some to come close to $ 1/2 trillion, which is hard to believe. Some others say that 3 xx the total value of the bonds is what was at play typically and so perhaps that is so.
 
We urge more due diligence which is neither presented here nor is apparently forthcoming yet. Of course these blatant financial market crimes cannot go unremarked or without even handed justice. We also see every reason to suspend and bar any and all U.S. and multinational funds from being served up to bolster what is increasingly notable as an aberrant financial scam underway today which is also called the Government of Ecuador under Correa.

No U.S./ US AID funds should be misspent in such a place at such a time. We advise a shut down pending full review of all monies to and through the Correa regime. Just replay that video of Patino here and know well that there is nothing good that will come of any U.S. monies to enable criminal regimes in Ecuador. Today one can easily review Rafael Correa's new banking laws which will be in full force within 25 more days, thanks to Correa's delft handling of his own puppet courts and his very own puppt/illegitimate Congress. To any who even pretend that Correa's regime will legally handle any investments and banking assets, we advise a review of normative bank fraud standards. Moreover, if the U.S. government seeks to pretend that COHA in any way represents U.S.  ( or multinational)financial and legal communities, they would be well advised to cease their own primary reliance on Chavez and Soros-backed progandists and review functional U.S. laws and regulations. COHA does not perform normative investor relations, unless of course one is Hugo Chavez's  Al Jazeera.

Ecuador Repudiated On Trade #
U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley, who's normally an antifree trade idiot even in the best times, did the right thing in telling Ecuador that no, it wasn't getting its temporary free trade approved for another six months. It still needs to clean up its rule of law, its dictatorial consolidation of power and its theft of US assets if it wants anymore where that came from. Good.
