Free RC TV Now

May 26, 2007    The Editors of ECrisis encourage our readers to review the actual footage from Hugo Chavez in the commendable and accurate video here.  This shows Hugo Chavez destroying freedom of all expression in his realm. We remind our readers that it is imperative to review a side by side of the Chavez and Rafael Correa playbook to close down free expression to give market share to their business partners out of the Middle East....their media business partners. Cancelling the competition to give unfair advantage to the state held conglomerates is underway by Correa and Chavez. We call this racketeering. We also call it the end of democracy. We are all- all of us- RC TV now. May we be every bit as principled in our positions as the leadership from RC TV has admirably sustained.

This is from the Human Rights Foundation (HRF),  May 12, 2007 which has also commendably reminded us all that good words are meaningless without appropriate action. They are petitioning and protesting and getting out the facts which remains a fundamental obligation of meaningful citizen responsibility. If being responsible means to move forward with our hands and our feet to encourage freedom's support, then we all must move forward.

HRF  notes: This independent short film was made for public distribution. This independent short film was presented  by a group of journalists concerned about freedom of expression in Venezuela. It includes footage never before seen outside of Venezuela and contains videoclips that date back to the year 2001.

It is presented here by the New York-based Human Rights Foundation as part of its Free RCTV campaign to document the Venezuelan government's ongoing assault on freedom of the press in that country. We believe the test of democracy is freedom of criticism.

By direct order of the Venezuelan president, the only remaining nation-wide independent television station in Venezuela, RCTV, will no longer be allowed to broadcast its programming through Venezuelan airwaves. This is set to occur on May 28, 2007. We invite you to join us in saying no to censorship. Visit www.FreeRCTV.com to find out more.

Again- we urge you to click the link above and review their superb short history on the end of freedom in Venezuela. You will see these words again and again in Ecuador.
