Freedom of Expression Faces the Chavez Firing Squad and is Replaced by Media of the Mullahs
May 27, 2007 We commend Ecuador's Hoy and Ecuador's La Hora which joins tens of thousands of news outlets globally today in denouncing Hugo Chavez's theft/caducidad of Venezuela's freedom of expression in the symbol of RCTV. In fact, it is safe to say that no other issue has united the common man more in the last six years except this one issue: rejection of Chavez's demands to silence his own people.
Not one major news organization has not taken a strong stand in revulsion over what Chavez is doing. Indeed, the only writers to support Chavez's media market share build up acts [by theft] are his own paid KGB-style screed scribblers and aficionados of one socialist globe theorems of questionable integrity and even more questionable patriotism. Tragically, the United Nations and the OAS, in lock step with their core constituents of paid so called Soros-backed activists and NGO employees, still pretend to be credible and relevant today by informing us that democracy is vibrant in Venezuela and therefore, Hugo Chavez's crimes are not really real.
Needless to say, the commonweal globally holds that Chavez's acts are so repulsive and occur with no justification whatsoever. The OAS and the UN and their chattering NGO employees along with so called think tanks such as the Inter American Dialogue [itself of intertwined stubborn ideologies with the Carter Center style soft Left enabling teams], are vastly out of step with the very souls they claim to represent: the freedom-seeking, real people - even as they rush to disinform about the glories of Chavez's communism and crimes. Contrast what the Inter American Dialogue has done this year, with all its money, with the truths, simply told by Venezuelan Alek Boyd, himself never supported - unlike some- by one thin dime or by Jimmy Carter or US AID or the OAS or the democratic leftists, has to say, straight from his heart, here at VCrisis.
On this day, we stand in solidarity with the millions of courageous Venezuelans who suffer under Hugo Chavez. We reject the propaganda that Chavez is justified for his actions. We know that Chavez controls about 95% of all media in Venezuela and is buying up media holdings across the region. We also know that Rafael Correa is logistically intertwined with Hugo Chavez's take over aspirations and follows the Chavez play book. Rafael Correa's media shuttering threats of May 26, 2007 are straight out of Chavez's central casting and his recycled scripts. Hollywood could not have better theatrical agents and production teams even though the real cost is prohibitively high.
While we commend the students from Catholic University in Caracas for their rallying efforts with tens of thousands across Venezuela, we see too that Chavez has ordered mandatory mind controls for his so called unuionized labor efforts: 4 hours for every employee of state mind control "training" and "indoctrination."
Never mind that the media in Venezuela, once so vibrant, is now a total tool of state propaganda which is co owned with Middle Eastern media conglomerates.
That means....Chavez has installed Middle Eastern media conglomerates in Venezuela. Rafael Correa wants you to have and hold the reminder in Ecuador too.
It is a bridge too far. If ever mankind's sensibilities are challenged, this is the moment. So, take a moment and click on to Publius Pundit here and see their awesome coverage on "Rallying Big For Free Speech in Venezuela."
