Readers' Choice: Pick your Favorite Dictatorship where Truth, Fairness and Accountability have Fled

May 28, 2007  The Editors of ECrisis post a reader poll: pick your favorite dictator.

We were struck by an article in the New York Times today which writes, " ... a Soviet-style cynicism about the law has returned, one in which justice, like diplomacy, is simply a series of political calculations laced with ulterior motives, as opposed to a dispassionate search for truth, fairness and accountability.

The cynicism has been a hallmark of [the]... presidency, allowing him to

consolidate power by using the law to weaken the media,

marginalize opposition parties

and imprison political enemies. It is now being used to paint ...[the West] as wielding its judicial system ...in the same way ...

it often wields its own — manipulating the law for political ends. "

So - which neo communist leader are they writing about? We have removed some key names from the original.

WHO are they writing about?

As a multiple choice question, pick one...is it... Hugo Chavez? Mugabe? Evo Morales? Rafael Correa? Vladimir Putin? Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadenijad?  Fidel Castro? Syria's Bashar al-Asad? We are also open to any new names from the club of `sovereign democrats' in the growing roster posted in the Hall of Shame.

The article writes of Putin -you can read it here- but could easily have been about any of these new crop dictators who do daily....manipulate the law and the media for their own self-serving and dishonest political purposes. This is what Soros and his paid groupies tells us we must support: alternative or sovereign democracies and oppose "dispassionate search for truth, fairness and accountability." Why do we give tax free status to this propagandist? Why would anyone elect these alternative democrats who oppose truth, fairness and accountability to weaken the media, marginalize opposition and imprison [ or cause harm to] their enemies, abusing and manipulating judiciaries for their own ends?

Again, we ask: who did you think the above description fits? It is a good question and one that deserves some answers.

Our readers are known to be self inoculating from the deteriorating affects of sliding into a rampant disease in Latin America called "The Perfect Idiot" syndrome. By answering honestly these questions and making fact based decisions, you too can help prevent idiots and....their criminal cartels.
