Criminal End Runs, Slime and Cover Ups by Chavez's Rafael Correa and his Bag Men

July 6, 2007  Make no mistake about it...every day that Rafael Correa and his team remains in public office, daily life in Ecuador gets criminally dirtier and dirtier. The FINANCIAL TIMES, benignly calling President Correa an "anti free market leftist" comes to the rescue and shines a small but tepidly partial light on a huge criminal problem  (read it here.) That is to say: Ecuador's Correa has completed his self coup, runs a nation with his Cabinet of remarkably incompetent, badly educated  Castro and Chavez adoring persons of no honor and even less morals,  has stolen from North American companies small and mid size, has repulsed any legitimate investor for Ecuador, has illegally taken over the Congress and the courts and the military and the police, has de facto already removed the independence of the Central Bank which lately served as an active checks and balance for fiscal policy, has commandeered all oil sector activities- including selling huge chunks of Ecuador's oil to Marc Rich [rumored to be linked to Chavez's Russian backed mafias] and Hugo Chavez and for a foreign policy has set about to buy his way in to favorable relations with Iran's money laundering murderous terror-backing mullahs and media manipulators, sometimes called TELESUR.

No one alive seriously believes the Correa regime when it claims it did not engage in bond market manipulations this year and is doing so again. Right now.

No one should be fooled either that the due process, human rights abandoning government of Ecuador is in any way responsible for law and order either. As we all know- and could have predicted with any pea sized brain around- the Correa Congress will merely punish Ricardo Patiño for his crimes with a for show only censure when he should be facing prison. In fact, the entire Correa administration should be removed for its crimes against Ecuadoreans.

For the record, Rafael Correa has based his entire career on ruining Ecuador's once vibrant private sector and the jobs and trade with North America which feeds Ecuadoreans. About one half of the GDP is based on trade with North America and about 1/2 of the jobs are based on this trade. The rest of Ecuador's economy- its operational budget- is derived from the oil production center which is down about one half due to incompetence, theft, mismanagement, corruption, and opaque rigged deals to benefit the few and exclude the general transfer of oil income. Operational revenues go begging and Correa's team still has yet to present an honest governmental budget and payment plan. Indeed, Correa continues to lie when he tells us that Ecuador cannot make its bond payments when it can easily so do. In fact, Ecuador can and must agree to restitution of the legitimate refund to OCCIDENTAL of the VAT taxes owed them. And that is for starters. Ecuador needs to reinstate the assets from OCCIDENTAL which it stole from this company, and others. Former president Palacio, working with actors who are active today in the Correa regime, inked the reprehensible hydrocarbon law over one year ago to authorize seizure of a functional effort which actually made money for the people of Ecuador. Ecuador needs to repay OCCI now. Ecuadorean ambassador Gallegos, himself deeply involved with Aristide's mouth organ Paul Reichler and the pro Chavez actors from Fenton Communications, tells us in his highly paid and carefully word smithed statement, "Ecuador wishes to maintain and deepen its ties with the United States" - read it here.

To  be sure, there is nothing- nothing at all- to back up the Correa team's lies that they have and hold any intention whatsoever of maintaining and deepening ties with the USA except through deceptions, theft, trickery, hand outs and abuse of North Americans...because they find themselves clever and cunning to steal from "the evil empire" and like neo communist Robin Hoods, give to the poor. Problem is....these state backed kleptocrats are only giving to themselves with the most appalling little hand outs to the "poor" in Ecuador, lately handed energy subsidies while Correa cannot even find the money to make payments for social security pensions nor is he competent enough to access global debt markets to float bonds to feed the pension plans, forcing his regime to float domestic bonds for pension fund payments at a jacked up debt payment. Correa's ruinous communism is costing Ecuadoreans lots and lots of money while he tosses out small band aids supposedly to help the poor while chasing away any future for Ecuadoreans- no jobs, no growth, no potential even as he inks deals with those aligned with Russian and Iranian mafias.

Ecuadoreans need to reject the false investments from Russian linked mafias and the Iranians and stand for clear, clean commercial interests to attract development, not slime.

To aid and abet, also called enabling, this dark and murky bond market scam, comes now U.S. ambassador Linda Jewell who tells us boldly in  the media that the USA is Correa's ally and strong friend. We are not sure just who she is referring to in the USA. We are also not sure at all just who she thinks she is working for because it is truly NOT the U.S. taxpayer who has derived not one penny of value from her outfit which only just recently, in June 2007, finally noted privately that Correa's team are massively corrupt while still yet affording no American any comfort at all in representing U.S. interests in Ecuador while assisting the anti Uribe activists littering the embassy's agenda....almost daily. We are sure that this roster of "friends" includes the pro Chavez groups already used and used to spread Correa's propaganda, U.S. Senators Chris Dodd plus Harry Reid and Congressman Delahunt  and now of course Congresspersons Nancy Pelosi and Charlie Rangel and Sander Levin, as detailed brilliantly in The WALL STREET JOURNAL here. With friends like these, who needs the Russian hedge fund operatives behind Chavez's FONDEN swaps profiteering? With friends like these, who needs the George Soros  backed anti Uribe and anti law and order activist groups swirling around Ecuador when the KGB style actors, already ruining Venezuela, are locked and loaded to ruin Ecuador, draining all its vigor and potential....leaving the nation bereft of energy and mobility and any moral codes whatsoever? And who indeed thinks that Patiño deserves only to be censured? Censured from what? More tawdry meetings at cheap hotels in the North of Quito with well known schemes to commit fraud? Censure from being exposed on video for crimes?

There is only one way to clean up slime. And crime. And that is to refuse to engage with it and begin one by one to clean it up.

No one else will do this unless we ourselves take the active steps to so do. Although we have been waiting since 1998 with few signs of hope, no one can wait for the irrelevant and hopeless U.S. embassy to provide any moral or ethical leadership anymore. No one can wait for the debauched congress, military, conflicted media, the police or self described NGO groups. No one can wait for the politically confused Archbishop of Quito to act. No one can wait for the other to do what each of us must do....clean up our own slime and stand on principles.

There is no "other" - there is only each of us. Currently making us laugh is the humor video detailing this dilemma crudely... the pende--s of Correa's regime. And indeed they are. And indeed they are up to no good. Because we let them. Without so much as a by your leave, we enable this rash of criminals as surely as Linda Jewell does do and as surely as every lazy and by-choice uneducated soul does do. The blame resides not with the utterly ethically compromised by her neo communist pals and democratically-useless Linda Jewell but with each of us. There can be no question that the global financial markets must do what politicians have failed to do, bowing to well paid propagandists and that is to review the sweetheart deals for development littering the U.S. and global monied give aways to Ecuador. The InterAmerican Development Bank, bravely led by Moreno, has no clue what Correa's team is up to fiscally and needs must deliver due diligence on his end games. So too must the World Bank, the OAS, and the global financial markets because the government of Ecuador itself today refuses to disclose anything honestly, jiggering its books to fit the audience even as Gallegos jiggered his propaganda to assuage the U.S Congress into handing over more life saving money for the famously corrupt Palacio-Correa Ecuadoreans, who had a great road map for corrupt acts laid out by Lucio Gutierrez following the last decade's leaders of crime.

For its part, the OAS tells us that they will monitor Correa's assembly elections. They did not tell us how much money the OAS spent on trying to force Ecuador into purchasing pre rigged fiber optic vote tally fiber optics equipment and pre rigged computer voting machines although the OAS did finally remove, after protests, its frontal assault on the dignity of voting rights, its official web site promotionals for the Chavez linked SMARTMATIC machines, also hawked by Brazilian vendors in disguise. What coordinating and marketing role the OAS and the UN and the USA's NED and IFES played in this voter corruption scam is not known fully. What we do know is that Insulza and his OAS has already prejudiced the entire Ecuadorean future, which no doubt colors the Ecuadorean futures market and appears to be a good actor to aid and abet that same futures market. Insulza himself has said that as long as Latin governments operate under the veneer of democracy, he will see no crime and no crime will be notated on his watch. What we do know is that Insulza is a third rate bureaucrat who owes his post to the support of State Department's Latin actor Charles Shapiro and their mutual intimate, former president Lagos who is now said to be on the Soros payroll. We remind that Soros pays lots of money to act against Uribe's principled position  against narco terrorism in Colombia and Soros himself has said that, contrary to what Insulza lied about, he is no statesman but is indeed active only to make money.  What Insulza thinks Soros and his ally Shapiro are doing to grow Latin American ethical behaviors remains firmly in doubt even as Soros publicly tells us that he himself has no morals, has no ethics and holds no principles. If Insulza wants to call Soros a great statesman, he needs to also quote Soros's own words when he tells us that he has no ethics, no morals and no principles. Otherwise, Insulza praises the immoral, the unprincipled, the unethical. We call this....slime. Insulza should also. Thus, democracy's name becomes an excuse for no due diligence, no law and order and no rule of law even when it does not exist any more which of course is fully the case in Venezuela, Cuba and Ecuador.

Just ask the young people at the soccer games in Caracas. They are calling it for what it is: slime. Will Insulza tell us that they are wrong even as he tells us that Correa and Chavez have performed wonderfully because they were democratically elected, hiding their crimes? The young people in Caracas are not wrong. They see things clearly. They have no future as long as Insulza remains a co addict to slimy behaviors. It appears today that serving as a democratically elected leftist, sometimes incorrectly called populists or U.S. democrats or ` fiery leaders' [also called unbearable gas bags of unending self promotionals] is just an excuse to be a criminal and stumble about the universe with impunity and lie a lot while leadership and progress go begging.

No sooner did the government of Ecuador beg with U.S. Senator Max Baucus for a free trade give away by claiming that it upholds rule of law and vowed to continue to do so, than the government of Ecuador came yesterday to tell us all that the British judges- and by extension the USA- have no understanding of rule of law. they just do not understand, according to Correa's hit men, that rule of law must be perverted to mean that no law has value and that all laws must be politically jiggered to make them- the Ecuadorean burglars- look good. It is a fool's errand underway by the Correa team to decry the legitimacy of Britain's common law tradition. It is a very expensive self deception by Correa to sell Ecuadoreans the notion that legitimate rule of law is a sin and that lies and manipulations are solid replacements for rule of law.

Rule of law begins at home. The poor, also called true believers of the Chavez cult of dishonesty in many instances, have no compassion of any demonstrable benefit from these slimy leaders of inner circle self enriching state kleptocrats, also called the governments of Cuba, Venezuela and Ecuador. It is past time to stop coddling these kleptocrats, liars, ninnyhammers, dimwits and dunces. Those who have fled to the shopping mall ease in the canyons of Miami's Brickell Avenue expose their commitment to building their nation's patrimony by their avoidance of personal position as their nations self destruct. What is more important is to take away the keys to power held by these slimy actors of adolescent world views and demand responsible adult behavior- not enabling and certainly not the acts of the co addicts currently called Latin populist leaders. The choice is yours: be a pend---/be slime ...or not. We have noted here before that we disagree with Roger Noriega's claim that redemption can be had for Rafael Correa as long as the USA ignores criminal acts and throws more money at not only Roger's lobbying efforts through Tew Cardenas and his client grabbing acts at the American Enterprise Institute but also throwing more and more money at Ecuador. Anyone outside the Bathhouse Boys' moral irrelevancy knows that being "redeemable" requires acts of corrective, relevant behaviors, not a cover up/ not enabling of slime.

A return to accountability, integrity, and service to regional agendas is a good place to begin. That would be progress. Without this, Ecuador will have no future, once the futures' market manipulators (sometimes called criminals or murky Chavez linked Russian mafias) are finished with Ecuador, which is probably due around about next winter. Like locusts, they will move on, having drained all of Ecuador's future. By then, Chavez's military blockade for extortion around Latin America will be well underway, barring free trade, free speech and free travel except for his criminals.

With all due credit to BABALU for the BUCL.org campaign for the invisible ones locked inside Castro's hell hole, sometimes called Cuba, we urge you to click on to their visual rendition of Murder by Number and ask why. Why does Rafael Correa continue to tell us all that he and Hugo Chavez have the right idea to convert once alive lands in to dead zones in homage to Fidel Castro? And then ask yourself what you will do about this. It is your choice.
