Aznar Exposes Correa as Dictatorial while Chavez Unveils his Weapons Blockade for the Andes
September 15, 2007 The former prime minister of Spain, Jose Maria Aznar this week spoke truth to power on Ecuador's Ecuavisa TV when he chided that Hugo Chavez had abused his democratic principles [ if they ever existed] and has morphed in to a full blown tyrant. Read EL UNIVERSAL here.
Aznar is utterly correct to note that "revolutionary populism" and "indigenous movements" and "returns to authoritarian or Cuban-like systems" are one and the same and, we hasten to add, interlinked for political/money-making success. Aznar is again correct to explain, as we have been doing for almost a year at this site that this is not new and it is not democracy. What this movement does is to "empty democracy" and Adolph Hitler was very successful at gaming democracy historically and slowly but surely installing his anti Semitic, centralized regime which started out exactly like the regimes of Correa and Chavez whereas Castro warns that his Leninist- forced regime change, mimicked by Chile's Moscow and Havana funded Allende, is too obvious for today's wimpy band of enablers called "alternative democracy" advocates who do indeed provide the ballast for communist politburo regime installations.
We do not know where Aznar thinks he is going with this revelation in Ecuador, which is not new however much it is "new" news to Ecuadoreans who have too long deemed their best course to include aberrant, dysfunctional magical thinking that if a body politic remain shuttered inside their glass boxes, called high right condos in Quito and Guayaquil and perform absolutely not one community building exercise in their shallow, uneducated lives, that all will be well and truly manipulated magically for the betterment of the people. The betterment of the people in Ecuador is as much a farce as the game plan by the local intelligencia to do nothing, say nothing and deliver nothing meaningful while Rafael Correa strips the nation of its oil revenues, its democracy and free speech. Doing nothing gets you a nation with the globe's highest murder rates and a laughable economic position only bizarrely trumpeted by the Ecuadorean Chambers of Commerce as vibrant when everyone with a brain can see that all fiscal support for Ecuador is either illicitly off the books or stems from bail outs.
We commend Aznar for saying what he said for this is true. We do not know where Aznar thinks this will lead. Aznar today seems to be heading up a British hedge fund and contracting for a U.S. Embassy aligned banking company. We are thrilled that instead of paying for Stigletz and Noam Chomsky and all the other Soros-aligned propagandists so vehemently supported by US AID/the U.S. Embassy in Quito, that someone has the wisdom to put truth on the line. But Correa knows that Aznar will leave town, as he has done, and that Chavez's waves of paid actors are ready to move out across Ecuador to insure a more perfect alignment in his satellite state crafting efforts.
Failure is failure. Rafael Correa's team of adolescent dance partners for Hugo and Iran has failed. Ecuador is a failure and the false front that their magical pride, pride in either self selected laziness or self preferred deviant behavior, has led Ecuador to this moment of choice in either national suicide at the ballot box or public demands that Correa remove himself from Ecuador.
We remind that Hugo Chavez intends to install a blockade around Latin America by any means possible. To all our North American friends who tell us repeatedly that Hugo Chavez's adventures- soaring past $10 billion in purchases by now- in militarism will lead to nothing because he is buying equipment from countries whose military weapons caches are more often unsustainable or unable to retain functionality, we repeat: this is a sloppy and misleading lie to deter common sense applications of reality. As with the cover up of Correa and Chavez applied by Carter era John Maisto to tell us all shamefully that we had best watch what they do and not listen to their words, we maintain that propaganda remains propaganda. Hugo Chavez and his KGB minders- also called paid contractors from Russia and Cuba- are now, and have been since Chavez's LOFAN Law passage, mimicking the old Lockheed Martin aerospace position that weaponry must carry maintenance and training.
Make no mistake about it: Chavez has purchased training and maintenance plans for his massive weapons build ups. And every time you are told by paid propagandists and political hacks, sometimes aligned with political motives to enable Chavez's wilding ways, know that Hugo Chavez has fully tipped the hemisphere's weapons alignment to insure that the Monroe Doctrine is aborted while he shutters Latin America as a continent wide gulag to perform his more perfect approach to extract all minerals from South America. Nations excluded, but still on the take are those with no oil, gas, gold, tin, etc. reserves. Brazil will serve as Chavez's banking bourse and hedge fund capitol for commercial exchange as is the case today.
As with PDVSA and Petroecuador, the armies of both Ecuador and Venezuela are detailed inside their oil patches and nothing about either the oil concerns or the militaries is accountable or honest at all. In other words, the military and police work for the police state and have, as does Chavez, an open wallet to perform their murky businesses off the books and away from the prying eyes of transparency. Instead of providing law and order and security, these hacks are beavering away with Russian and Iranian technocrats to install a first rate armada in Latin America. Read the latest report here.
Never one to mince words, the article cites Roger Pardo Maurer, who knows first hand much about Ecuador, in recent U.S. Congressional testimony. The article states, “Close ties have been forged with Venezuela through repeated visits by senior Chinese officials who have expressed support for Mr. Chavez's efforts to establish a socialist one-party state. China has developed space programs with Brazil and Argentina and a military exchange program with Ecuador, whose president, Rafael Correa, wants to close the U.S. base in Manta. Beijing also is cultivating military ties with Mexico, Peru, Chile and various Caribbean countries. In addition, it operates an electronic eavesdropping station in Cuba.

Mr. Chavez said that once the Venezuelan engineers return from China, they will operate air defenses being built with Chinese and Russian technology.
Venezuela has purchased Chinese JYL-1 mobile air-defense radars that would interface with satellites to monitor the airspace around Venezuela, reaching nearly 250 miles into the Caribbean, Colombia and Panama, Mr. Chavez said.

He said the system that will be integrated with anti-aircraft missiles and become completely operational in two years.
Mr. Chavez, who claims the U.S. has attempted to assassinate him and often warns of an Iraq-style U.S. invasion of Venezuela, already has the most powerful air force in South America with his recent acquisition of 24 Sukhoi Su-30 fighters from Russia. He also is negotiating the purchase of nine Russian submarines. "
We urge again that one and all cease their foolishness that Ecuador will enjoy a magical transformation for the good under the Correa- Chavez governmental plan and actually perform a functional series of due diligence which must include the role of the Manta Base, as rumored, for Hugo's nuclear subs, which will be legitimized under the Correa per jiggered constitution in just a few months.
All support for the ridiculous enabling efforts by the OAS to bless the installation of the Chavez military sub set in Ecuador, called Correa's assembly, must end and fact based analysis replace the ridiculous political rhetoric that Adolph Hitler's tactics serve the Andes best.
