Andean People ask: What are these Socialist Plans Being Forced on Ecuador and Venezuela by Chavez and Correa? With no Transparency and no Accountability, Five Nation Bloc Expands Narcoterror as Epic Struggle Unfolds
October 29, 2007 Today, one lone Jesuit in Ecuador asks what we all keep asking: what deceptions lie in the deceptive Correa constitutional plan for Chavez's so called socialism and dictatorship? Read it here in HOY.
Because neither Chavez nor Correa are honest and stridently avoid disclosure and accountability, no answer comes. One is forced to perform what one should have been doing all along anyway- asking questions, staying informed, forgetting the rampant passivity of the lazy and insisting that accountability is a crucial leg of democracy.
What we do know is that Hugo Chavez has crafted a five nation bloc now. Soon this will be seen for what it is: a more than $10 billion weapons defense enhanced blockade around Latin America, notable in its control of all transportation, especially as Chavez increasingly is seen for what his bloc has become: a zone of narcoterror, aligned now with Iran. Read the POST's report here.
For the rest of the less easily identified bloc members, Hugo Chavez is spending like a drunken sailor to install his political machine across all Latin nations now. Commenting today on the Kirchner government of Argentina, Mary Anastasia O'Grady in today's JOURNAL, (read it here) notes that across Latin America-
"...the continent, where many countries are engaged in an epic struggle touched off by the return of the primitive caudillo politics that the Kirchners -- and their ally Hugo Chávez -- represent."
O'Grady has the right of it; this is an epic struggle now.
Matters are in formation now. What you have in all this now is a doddering, murderous blood thirsty Raul Castro ceding his Cuban military to their new paymaster, Hugo Chavez.
Cuba's Ricardo Alarcon and Rafael Correa want you to believe that this brutal tyrant of communism is your savior against the evils of functional democracy:

Cuba's interim leader Raul Castro.
Like phony electioneering in Cuba and Venezuela, media coverage, and all accountability on the much more than $51 million in campaign PR Kirchner power grab, is scant now. We do know that Sra Kirchner abused state funds to self promote her candidacy and her activities. Andres Oppenheimer incorrectly claims that Mrs. Kirchner lied when she told us that she was a walking replica of Hillary Clinton, for she is; (read it here.)
No one without a memory could recall Hillary Clinton's donor pay backs during her White House years, jetting around the globe to help promote the Clinton's good friend and money man, George Soros...on presidential transport, as if a holy member of elected and publicly accountable behaviors, which was ignored. Oppenheimer fails in his story on Kirchner. Today, Soros is a major holder of property in Kirchner's labor union paradise of deadbeats, propped up by Hugo Chavez in every sense of the word.
Like Hillary, Sra Kirchner has a remarkably dysfunctional marriage of convenience. Ecuadoreans, esp. the Correa regime en famille, dishonestly approve dysfunction and deception in hollow marriages as long as the money keeps rolling in. Like fake educational systems that continue to prepare none for an educated life, these marriages of deception prepare no family and no couple for lives without deception and manipulation. In the Kirchner's case, their hollowness was filled by Chavez and his wallet. In the Clinton's case, their hollowness was filled by George Soros and his wallet. In Hugo Chavez's case, his hollowness was filled by semi Marxists like Marta Hardegger sp? and Carlos the Jackal viz his Fidel Castro father role mentoring. Marriages of convenience fill the void either with money or more stubbornly entrenched dysfunction. Both are dishonest fakeries and both do not help because one never knows which end is up and accountability runs out the door...or is pushed out. Argentina under the Kirchners is a deadbeat nation which was propped up and bailed up illegally by Hugo Chavez while the IMF looked the other way. We do not know how much support Chavez handed the Kirchners because accountability is lost now in Argentina. We do not know how much support Soros handed the Kirchners because accountability is not forthcoming from Soros now.
The Jesuits are right to ask for Ecuadorean governmental accountability. Although foolishly many Jesuits and much Catholic leadership cravenly welcomed the debauched Correa, blessing his fake religious ceremonies of phony shamans and Marxist priests who will say anything as long as communism is promoted- themselves effronteries to Christians of all walks- no one should be fooled in to believing that without accountable government that there is anything less than a dictatorship. Ricardo Alarcon of Cuba, (read LA HORA here) rallied the Chavez troops in Quito over the week end to defend and protect communist Cuba against the evil liberating forces of functional democracy. We add the word functional democracy because it, unlike the Chilean of unending FLACSO vapidity from whence he came- card carrying Socialist Insulza's fake definition of democracy, includes the mandatory accountability clause. Cuba is of course part of Chavez's five nation bloc now. Chavez is building a union of narcoterror states. With over an estimated $10 billion in weapons purchases on the books, Chavez is forming a transportation blockade around Latin America where he will control all transport. And profit from the very lucrative drug transport systems he already enjoys, as does Correa's Ecuador. We say this again and you read it here first.
HOY has a delicious cartoon today- see it here.
This shows the head of Congress trying to keep back the flood of Ecuadorean congressmen fleeing from his corrupt and unmanned legislature which Correa plays like a violin to ratify the Chavez sweep in Ecuador. Although over 20% of all Ecuadoreans have already fled, like Congress far too many are fleeing out the door. Tens and tens of thousands of Venezuelans, like Cubans and Bolivians, seek refuge and asylum outside the Venezuelan bloc now because there is no functional democracy at all in the Venezuelan bloc although Insulza keeps calling it a vibrant democracy even in the face of his own lies. Chavez and Correa have a plan for that, too.
