Crisis in the Americas
November 24, 2007 There is a growing crisis in the Americas which warrants our full attention and carries the demand that we follow sure steps toward full cures for this crisis, which is a true struggle of epic proportions, which has engulfed half the continent now. Today we surprisingly received a bulk informational note from a pro Venezuelan freedom group called IVCD. Follows is the IVCD note containing three (3) links to one documentary on Venezuela which follows. We have reviewed this documentary on numerous occasions and absolutely urge you to study the message and content from each speaker for the unassailable facts. On the ECrisis site, we originally prompted readers to the American Security Council home page here for a preview of this documentary at their site. Folks can also contribute to the foundation and also order a copy of this documentary. The closing screen states, “The American Security Foundation dedicates this film to the people of Venezuela, Latin America, and to all People around the world joining in the fight for freedom."
At ECrisis, we follow their courageous foot steps, repeating their dedication, as we rededicate our work to not only the people of Venezuela, Latin America but especially the people of Ecuador, and to all people around the world joining in the fight for freedom.
As Ambassador Otto Reich notes in the documentary, "it is never too late...as long as there is hope"...and brave...men and women who stand against oppression and tyranny... it is not too late.
The documentary reminds us that Ecuador's Rafael Correa and Hugo Chavez's "policies of destruction and despair...limit policies of hope and opportunity for the people of Latin America."

Media attention to the crisis created and funded by Chavez, " a subnormal psychopath" (as is Correa albeit more `polished') is also divided in half between those impacted by Chavez's paid intelligence teams and his propaganda teams and core journalists who actively make efforts to present the facts. A recent article on the urgency to focus on Chavez's policies of destruction and the documentary, read it here, notes that, " Former Rep. Bill McCollum, a Republican who is serving as Florida's attorney general, cited the failure of the American government and press to sufficiently discuss the issues at hand in Venezuela, and the serious effects that they have on the U.S. ... Otto Reich, a former U.S. ambassador to Venezuela, said Mr. Chavez's tactics in both domestic and foreign policy are similar to those of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro and Mr. Ahmadinejad. `Chavez's first international friend was Fidel Castro, a person who was a terrorist himself, came to power through terrorism, bombings, assassinations,' Mr. Reich said. `Terrorists all the way from Mexico to Argentina and the Middle East, and other parts of the world, are Chavez's friends and they are in Venezuela.' "
Further,”...Mr. Chavez has enabled terrorists worldwide to operate freely in the Western Hemisphere. Hezbollah now has a presence in Venezuela, Mr. McCollum said, and drug traffickers and terrorists are able to move easily across and within Venezuelan borders.
Mr. Chavez is `probably the largest drug kingpin in history, allowing huge drug transit to Europe and the United States through Venezuela,' Mr. McCollum said. The objective of the documentary is to spread awareness and encourage consideration of an unstable leader situated in South America, posing a potential threat to the U.S., said Michael Waller of the Institute of World Politics. `You can be a communist. You can be a left-winger of any type. You can be a drug trafficker. You can be a Shiite, or you can be Osama bin Laden. ... As long as you're against the United States, Chavez will take you as an ally,' Mr. Waller said. “This then details the urgency of good men and women willing to risk all to stand up to the Cuban-Venezuelan dictatorships in Ecuador and Caracas, replacing death with hope and opportunity.
Following the position of this site that Chavez and Correa are illegally unaccountable, taking whole chunks of federal monies for their ill founded political adventures and self enrichment schemes, the MIAMI HERALD today, read it here, reports that Chavez is furthering his disinformation and propaganda campaigns across the Americas. The article states, " In an ambitious push to extend President Hugo Chávez's revolutionary ideology, the Venezuelan government's draft 2008 budget includes more than $250 million to finance pro-Chávez groups and ''anti-imperialist'' movements in the United States, Central and South America and Mexico. Under the draft budget, given initial legislative approval earlier this week, the Foreign Ministry would finance an ample variety of foreign activities, including the ''consolidation'' of the Venezuela-Cuba-Bolivia axis, the strengthening of alternative movements in Central America and Mexico, and the promotion of solidarity ``with sectors that have been excluded from the North American Society.' ''
We remind that the actual dollar figure for this Chavez consolidation plan, while 1/4 of a billion dollars in South America actually buys/leverages well over many billions in real terms, is not even close to an actual summary of what Chavez spends his "anti-imperialist" monies on. In fact, we suggest that this dollar figure is well in to the multiple billions now and includes tens of millions that Chavez spends on his disinformation campaigns, media ownership with Iran and Al JAZEERA across the Americas, Chavez's outright funding of think tanks, blogs, lobbyists and numerous elected officials who should in fact be scrambling to give back Chavez's ill gotten monies. Today, Hugo Chavez is moments away from declaring his utter hatred for Alvaro Uribe's principled positions, throwing his huge wad of cash at his propaganda machine to declare that Uribe's actions which lately denounced Chavez's false diplomacy to further the FARC had a demonstrable cause and effect and would not be permitted to drag on, as Chavez promises for years while Chavez and the FARC continue their unending string of crimes and lies.
Hugo Chavez has desperately abused his presidency by lying about his role with the FARC, a known global group of nacre terror, while sustaining his own position which defines Venezuela as a state sponsor of terror. Chavez has inserted his false negotiations with the FARC in a vain effort to avoid being classified as a State Sponsor of Terror by the USA and other nations of integrity, which is precisely what he is. Even Chavez well knows that his FARC terror training camps are active inside Venezuela and lies about his delays to use "proof of life" for these poor captured souls- thousands of them- illegally held in the FARC prisons and torture camps today- while Uribe of Colombia presents proof of moral and principled leadership. An outstanding summary of the contrast between Chavez and Uribe entitled PROOF OF LEADERSHIP, as opposed to proof of Hugo Chavez's massive lies and manipulations before the globe regarding his own criminal dictatorship, is here, in Investors Business Daily.
This piece correctly notes, "Colombia spent a decade during the 1990s talking with terrorists and giving them concessions. As in the Middle East, it only let the terrorists regroup to strike harder. Uribe was clearly aware of this, and it's why he got elected. But as liberals wring their hands and hostage's relatives insist that Chavez was the only hope, something big has been happening. Colombia is beating FARC on the battlefield, driving it from Colombia's cities to control just 5% of the country now. FARC's drug earnings have plunged as the drug war is won, draining the group of resources. New victories, such as the October rub-out of FARC terrorist Martin Caballero, who tried to kidnap President Bill Clinton, show the terrorists' weakness.
Terrorists like the FARC cannot be negotiated with in good faith. Uribe was right to nip their act in the bud instead of dragging it out another 40 years. It's a good lesson for any negotiator of implacable terrorist groups — whether in the U.S., Europe or Middle East."
As long as good men and women are willing to stand for the truth, it is not too late for Ecuador, Venezuela and Latin America.
We continuously hear how all Ecuadoreans must pretend that Correa will not harm their freedoms and that their very persons will pretend that their families will best be served dishonestly living as the French did under the Vichy government of France which enabled and assisted the murderous Nazi regime under Hitler. As any student of history knows, the Vichy government was a sell out to all freedoms and simply served as a pass through for the Nazi sweep. This site has previewed the new Chavez-Correa constitutions whose sole aims decriminalize crime and perforce one bloc of Andean nations under one central fascist authority...an undemocratic cabal of violent, anti-Western ideologies which coincidentally self enrich while poverty doubles and crime quadruples. If there is shame, it is shame in aiding and abetting these Andean dictatorships which remain always one step away from surrender, which is precisely what enabling has become in Ecuador on all fronts: surrender.
There is no need to surrender to the end of liberties and functional democracy under state sponsors of terror, crime and freedom's end. There is hope and we are not afraid. Hope deserves action with daily opportunities toward progress...not surrender.
