December 9, 2007   Joseph Stigletz is no one to be confused with the Three Wise Men who arrived from the East to bring gifts to the Messiah, so revered on Dia de Reyes or Day of the Kings each January 6. No indeed. Joe Stigletz comes this week to Ecuador more like one of the horsemen of the apocalypse representing his patrons George Soros and Hugo Chavez, both of whom are involved in murky offshore financial rackets and Russian money backers. These days Dr. Joseph Stigletz sounds more like Sean Penn than a thoughtful, factual economist which...he is no longer.
 
Comes now the long awaited and much trumpeted Joe Stigletz to Cuenca and Quito December 10 -14, 2007 to tell us that what he does not know is so. Stigletz will relay his veneration for Banco del Sur deceptively telling us all how much Ecuador needs fake free trade with the USA called an ATPDEA extension and how much the USA needs Ecuador for free trade which it does not. Stigletz actually calls non free trade as fair trade because he hates free trade. For Stigletz, nothing is good about legitimate and accountable free trade and he will insist that unaccountability must replace legitimate free trade which today requires contract law. Stigletz, following his latest romp with Chavez's economic disaster, wants to tell us that Correa and Chavez's grand theft inside Ecuador is a good thing and that prosperity under Chavez and Castro's Cuban economic model is just around the corner for Ecuador. Fair trade and alternative or sovereign democracy is not fair, is not open, is not legitimate and is undemocratic: it is a ruse to expand piracy and state kleptocracy.

Read about Stigletz's so called promo- not for legitimate trade or legitimate democracy but instead alternative democracy (also called Polo Democracy by the FARC in Colombia) and fair trade also called anti free trade and anti-rule of law here. In fact, most of the time Stigletz will spend huddled with his embassy-funded foot soldiers of financial miscreants and his new ally Rafael Correa. Of course Stigletz is not welcome at the coven meeting at Montecristi just in case he might for once re awaken a long dormant desire to support transparency and legitimacy by these liars called Chavez and Correa's communists beavering away with Sr. Viciano Pastor to deliver one of the world's worst manifestos to legitimize state kleptocracy and herald in the soon to be enshrined off the books derivatives trading Bolivarian open wallet plans in place of accountable finance. Joe Stigletz will ignore these Andean slush funds for communists, called Bolivariansim, and will tell us that the unaccountable must be enshrined because it will "help the poor." The poor are never helped by hedge funds and derivatives funds for communists. Here is what Chavez catches daily:

Stigletz, now advising Chavez and Correa on so called off the books, uncharted and unregulated so called banking, is a long time ally, serving almost as a body double, with the sole economic advisor to Jamil Mahuad, Jeffrey Sachs who was vastly overpaid by the people of Ecuador to perform some of the worst services known to modern man. Stigletz, who always and everywhere acts in tandem with Sachs and Soros- their sponsor, will do no less. We do not know who is paying the over inflated Stigletz this week and can only assume that it is a cocktail mix of his Columbia University patron Soros, his Chavez money folks viz Correa, and his long standing funding stream called US AID. US AID recently permitted an Ecuadorian NGO to steal over ten million from another legitimate NGO based on their fraudulent claim that theft was justified because the victimized group had not consulted the great Stigletz. Valeria Merino, herself a self styled Stigletz and Soros doxxy before the OAS and US AID, knows a lot about inserting very non transparent ways in to what is supposed to be transparency and legitimacy. 
 
Here is Stigletz in another Soros backed adventure, like MoveOn, called DAILYKOS reminding us why he is a Marxist-socialist politician and not a practicing economist. Stigletz hates free trade in any format and states, "...what we are left with in the conflict between global, corporate hegemony and the institution of American democracy is a strategic blunder." Stigletz also tells us that businesses/corporations have subverted democracy and ruined it. Rather than businesses, Stigletz has a better plan...no businesses but instead statist, central one world controls over all.
 
By way of reminder, we urge full reviews of Stigletz's colleague and partner in many areas: Larry Birns of COHA recently apologizing blatantly for Chavez to tell us that Chavez cannot be help responsible for his recent "lapses" in democracy. This is a full blown Tokyo Rose propaganda effort to make the best the enemy of the good. What is good and must never be the enemy... is the facts. Read Stigletz's friend Birns here from the Soros and Chavez backed GLOBAL EXCHANGE which also promotes some of the wildest non facts around. Here they are telling us that Chavez's ALBA is legitimate and helps the poor when nothing about ALBA is honest and they also tell us that free trade kills the poor while "fair trade" off the books trade that is- helps the poor. Fair trade is a no holds barred legitimization of piracy. None can deny that so called fair trade- aka no rule of law- is essentially legitimized piracy.

Here too is Stigletz's friend Larry Birns writing in the Socialist Party's publication called "Marxist Thought OnLine," to aid and abet Chavez's own Rafael Correa's primary lobbyist in Washington Paul Reichler- the primary lobbyist for the Sandinistas out of Castro's Cuba and  Haiti's Aristide, that Aristide was a great guy, read it here when in fact he is a criminal on the lam, contrary to what Aristide's lawyer- and CIP lawyer Paul Reichler states. Meanwhile, CIP executive Goodfellow, married to Bush basher Dana Priest of the WASHINGTON POST, now books speaking gigs - read it here for discredited former non covert Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame under the CIP's new efforts called CIP's IPIP. This piece states that Correa and Reichler's own contract with Reichler and Fenton Communications is now common anti - USA chapters in propaganda. The report notes," One of the most sophisticated of Fenton’s anti-war projects is the co-mingling of Win Without War and the Center for International Policy (CIP).Before 9/11, CIP, a Fenton Communications client, mainly acted as Fidel Castro’s greatest “think tank” ally. Much of its million-dollar budget was spent lobbying to end economic sanctions and travel restrictions against Cuba. Now, it has another mission. Fenton has established a “war room” with CIP called The Iraq Policy Information Program (IPIP). Its main job is getting the anti-Bush foreign policy message out to the media and providing guests for talk shows. A featured speaker of the IPIP is former ambassador Joe Wilson, one of the Bush administration’s most vocal enemies. Like Moveon.org and Win Without War, the contact for the Iraq Policy Information Program is Fenton Communications. Win Without War also collects tax-deductible donations through CIP." Is anyone at the U.S. IRS tracking this money making scam? And what, we wonder, does U.S. ambassador Jewell have to tell us  about her own incredibly deceptive, nefarious anti-USA team at her table?  We remind that Fenton, besides its numerous anti USA activities to assist the FARC, Castro's Cuba and Hugo Chavez, is one and the same with Soros's own MoveOn.org and was heavily involved in the now semi defunct Soros's own talk show station, AIR AMERICA, seen here. And if that is not enough, Stigletz's own long time Chavez and Soros-backed colleague at CEPR Mark Weisbrot in Washington claims to have advised Chavez on shorting the U.S. dollar, used consistently by OPEC for fun and profit. Both Weisbrot and Stigletz teamed at the Center for Economic and Policy Research [CEPR] have sold their "financial" services to Chavez, appearing often in numerous leftist publications in support of the Chavez financial plans, sometimes called piracy and off the books looting. Weisbrot also has told us that MIT was wrong to rely on Ricardo Hausmann's statistical analysis that the Chavez voting apparatus was rigged. Weisbrot forgets that the U.S. government cut a deal with these agents of fraud and their machines are banished from the USA because they are fraudulent- not because of Ricardo and MIT.  Stigletz remains, as he has for years, on the Soros-funded CEPR Board of non economic, political propagandists and Chavez assistants.

What you are seeing is a virtual Who's Who of pro Iran, pro drugs, pro "alternative democracy and alternative/fair trade" political machinations which are interlocked and loaded now with lots of money. Like teenagers, all dressed up with no where to go, this so called Progressive Party, also called the Soros Democrats led by Obama, Dodd and Hillary Clinton, have lots of money and thousands of dizzying, manipulative active groups now which are also interlaced with the pro Chavez, pro Castro and pro FARC efforts. Fenton is their uber mouth organ.  Like Nancy Pelosi's staffer who came from Soros, many Fenton staff move back and forth from the U.S. Congress to Fenton, such as Sen. Jim Webb's staffers who derived from the Fenton staffing pool of propagandists.
 
Fenton and Reichler have been united on their anti USA propaganda work for years. Read it here. It is their most effective work in progress to date to discredit the U.S. armed forces and the president of the USA while playing footsie with those who, like Chavez and Correa, incredulously tell us that the 9-11 mass murders were an "inside job" born of the Bush team.
 
Currently Fenton is busy helping Soros defeat Plan Colombia to help the FARC, defeat Colombia's FTA, aid and abet Correa's seizure of Ecuador's entire government while actively trying to lie a lot to the U.S. Congress that Correa only wants piracy, which they cleverly call fair trade, not legitimate, accountable free trade. Fenton, like Reichler are supported by the U.S. embassy in Quito and get a lot of money from Rafael Correa, none of which is traceable in any meaningful capacity. Currently, we know that Reichler and Fenton have told Correa to be quiet and not reveal his true self in front of the U.S. media in order to pretend that Correa's own Plan Ecuador does not exist when it does and to assist in misrepresentation of Correa's crimes before the United States. Nothing good comes of this.
 
The Center for International Policy -see here- teams often against Uribe with Soros's own anti-Colombia WOLA offices. Note how many so called policy cross overs exist between CIP, CEPR, WOLA and Chavez's own VIO offices. In 2007, the pro Castro, anti Plan Colombia group CIP clearly states they are funded also by Soros and secondarily by the Soros-Backed TIDES Foundation. Perhaps the only honest, albeit tragic, thing Birns ever stated was that Brazil's Lula needs the credentials given him by Chavez and Castro. A year ago, Birns defended Chavez's massive arming of his so called militia to "protect" the revolution. We are still not entirely sure who will be the recipients of his new Russian rifles and armor piercing bullets but we do know that Iran is partnered with the Correa-Chavez formal acts of aggressive hatred.
 
In fact, US AID Ecuador and the U.S. embassy in Quito have a long standing tradition of inserting the Soros mouth organ for mischief, alternative democracy, piracy of trade called fair trade, and opacity, Joe Stigletz in to numerous consultancies and off the books adventures, preferring Stigletz's unique brand of Chris Dodd- Sorosean world views to the legitimate light of day under authentic U.S. governmental contracting.
 
FLACSO, ostensibly a group of multi-nation university social scientists who refuse to apply any hard data and have yet to come up with functional analysis on anything, while performing the arduous task of selling political ideas couched in the thin veneer of accountability while never once delivering anything useful in the last ten years, was originally created by the UN's UNESCO. The OAS lauds its performance which we have yet to notice as much more than bags of wind with bags of cash.
 
FLACSO will feature Joe Stigletz, lately of Columbia University, lately forced out- like Correa as fired for lying to the World Bank- by then president Wolfensohn of the World Bank and most lately of an Autumnal 2007 spree at Miraflores with Hugo Chavez himself, having availed himself of numerous Chavez and Soros backed so called NGOs and propaganda mills to inform us all that Chavez is a great guy and that his uncharted, unknown slush fund called not only the unaccountable government of Venezuela but also its money pass through funds at A:BA and Banco del Sur and that this is a wonderful bank. We believe yet that it is not a bank and is not legitimate and is unaccountable. To our analysis none have reviewed any charter at all. If this is anything like Chavez's now standard so called contracts- which are not contracts at all- we will notate that this bank will be exactly as Chavez runs all that he  does:  illegally and with no accountability and no rule of law. Stigletz knows this and prefers to pretend that Chavez and all that he does is lawful when nothing that Chavez, like Correa, does is lawful.
 
FLACSO in Ecuador will once again serve as a false face for the false financial plans of Hugo Chavez and Rafael Correa and his agent provocateur named Joseph Stigletz. FLACSO is useful today in selling the Chavez plan to unite many nations under the Cuban-Chavez-Correa plan for a bloc of nations. The UN seems to think that this is a good thing. So too does the OAS, calling this democratic. So too does Correa who tells us that FLACSO will be at the right hand of his cabinet.
 
FLACSO will attempt to legitimize that which is illegitimate and give cover to Correa and Stigletz's non application of facts this week. However, like PDVSA holding its offices inside FLACSO, one is always well served to ignore the red welcome mat by FLACSO and Soros and Chavez and look at the facts. FLACSO has not once delivered one single benefit to anything except its own chattering semi and soft socialists, communists, murky hedge fund actors and self serving functionaries. This ethos imbues the sanctity of Stigletz who has primarily served numerous pro Chavez and anti Uribe activist groups, along with Larry Birns, Mark Weisbrot, and Correa's lobbyist Paul Reichler, in Washington, D.C. with flawed analysis and worse yet- no facts in their unending assault on functional performances.
 
Lately this Weisbrot-Stigletz gang, calling themselves Progressives- when in fact they are Marxist socialists engineering state kleptocracy and economic fascism for the few- their few- trumped up the fake charges that the U.S. economy is dead because the U.S. dollar is not as strong as it used to be. This propaganda job, seen at the recent OPEC fiasco, was cooked up by Stigletz's groupies in Washington and parroted by Chavez, Correa and most devastatingly by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to try to cause more harm to the USA. No word yet if this NGO gaggle helped Soros, Chavez, Correa and Mahmoud's mullahs gain currency speculation profits by running the U.S. dollar. Here is the Soros-Stigletz-Weisbrot team telling us that Banco del Sur is fabulous because it will focus on regional integration. This is perhaps their only honest claim. Chavez means geo physical and well as geo political integration: a take over by financial and military means. These miscreants think this is great. We think it is a neo communist bloc. And here is Stigletz and Chavez and Soros's paid man on the job, Mark Weisbrot telling Ecuadoreans that Argentina's Kirchner was terrific here, to scam bond holders and that Ecuador should do the same, if not worse. Again- we ask: who is paying for Joseph Stigletz and his preconceived notions that theft, unaccountability and functional financial illiteracy is worthy of U.S. support and U.S. tax dollars? And who will be on the tarmac to greet his arrival to assuage Correa's fondest hopes of even more grand theft?
 
Joe Stigletz should not only be booted from his Soros backed tier at Columbia University but also be deemed as not an economist any more for he has forgotten the primary function of economics: verifiable data. Stigletz, as Correa and Chavez, wants to pretend that they have factual data but in fact have none and will not have any because neither Chavez nor Correa hold any intention of delivering data for economic validation. Thus, Joe Stigletz has become as useful and as legitimate as Sean Penn and other goofy idiots gone wilding, sucked in to the political morass that is the Chavez-Morales-Correa vortex of dishonesty.
 
We remind that mostly out of work actors like Sean Penn and economists like Stigletz only take monies from regimes that are illegal, dishonest and failing like Chavez and Correa. We have yet to see Stigletz actually rebuild economies of scale or engineer any saving graces for these socialists. There is a reason for this: he is too busy helping those filled with hatred succeed while ignoring the common sense of functional economists like Milton Friedman whom he loathes. Like Valeria Merino, who aids and abets the insertion of Stigletz whenever she is urged or pressed to do so in U.S. contracts, not once- not ever in four years- has the government of Ecuador welcomed internationally known economists who actually have track records for restoring functional economies of scale while building democracy's first plan- free and open speech coupled with rule of law. Instead, they refuse comparative constitutional scholars and bar applied economics specialists, preferring instead to ridiculously tell us that the USA and Ecuador will not help functional democracy. In Ecuador, this is the case. In Ecuador, all support is given for Correa's phony financial planning, his pro FARC money laundering and fake counterdrug efforts and the wide scale ridiculous excuses that it is great to rob, steal and cheat international corporations because, as they say, the primary function is to destroy oligarchies. Sounding more like Sean Penn than legitimate leaders, this foolishness will reach its zenith this week in Ecuador and it is not legitimate and it is not helpful.
 
Neither Stigletz nor Correa are bona fide economists for all that they are claimed to be. Neither Stigletz nor Correa- both of whom have been fired from every post they ever held- have ever yet to actually grow an economy or a business of scale or deliver sustained financial accountability. We know that Correa is no economist: we have studied his so called academic works which are political tirades wrapped up inside phony data analysis. We have studied Stigletz's fawning praise for the illegitimate Hugo Chavez and find him unabashedly craven. In fact, he should reside inside Miraflores Palace with the lithium imbued master manipulator Chavez, with Eva Gollinger and with the blowsy Piedad Cordoba, FARC moll. This is no mere Animal House fraternity for liberals but is instead a Nut House for dishonorable fiscal and political miscreants on the Chavez take.
 
Rather than greeting their hero, pretending he is one of the great Wise Men come to save Correa on the tarmac at Sucre Airport, the U.S. embassy imbued Sorosites littering Quito would do well to yank his travel passport. Wherever Stigletz goes, dishonesty and contract fraud soon follow. As for FLACSO, they are functionaries who have yet to do much else but roll out the very RED carpet for these ninnyhammers.
 
Stigletz in fact promotes "fair trade" which, if anyone actually checks the facts, is not free trade and Stigletz is on the public record as advising Ecuador against the horrible free trade with the USA. Like his touted alternative democracy and non rule of law and fake banks called Banco del Sur and ALBA, these manipulators want to sell you the delegitimization of western civilization. They are so cynical they call their communist manifestoes as Magna Cartas, never mind that the core of which was rule of law which they assiduously avoid because...it requires accountability and truth telling, seemingly abandoned under layers of excuses and lies, also called "helping the poor." We guarantee you that Soros was utterly honest when he reported- in his own words- that he cares nothing about helping the poor and he himself never does charity but only supports that which makes him money.
 
But Stigletz is not alone in selling us fake economies which are deceptive. He has good company. Here today  are reports -read them here- of Clinton's ambassador to Venezuela, John Maisto, gushing and fawning over Hugo Chavez's fabulous 1998-2000 democracy in Venezuela, calling it a model for the hemisphere. Soros's best friends, Madeline Albright and Bill Clinton, agreed and have yet to denounce the fake  or Andean "polo" democracy in Venezuela, however much they might claim to be against Hugo Chavez. For his part, America's Tom Shannon just announced that John Maisto will co ordinate a massive OAS- InterAmerican Dialogue- US AID  money give away to sustain more of the Soros contractors who will continue selling piracy, called fair trade, and alternative democracy called fake democracy and insist that rule of law must be destroyed because the illegitimate must be legitimized. Stigletz is part of this club for nation ruining and wants to help speed the removal of functional economies. Just ask him.
 
Wherever Joe Stigletz goes, the nation is a dead zone already. No healthy nation listens to Joe Stigletz because he has no interest in building economies of scale. Rather, he appears like vultures to pick at carcasses. If Ecuador needs a road map to tell it what it is, look no further than Stigletz's portfolio. Know that like Fenton Communications, this nation is entrenched with piracy, trans shipments, grand theft, racketeering and fake democracy.

We have long advised: do not take our word for it. Read, study and question. The links here are just a small number of resources available for research and due diligence. The next step is to stay informed and make decisions based on up to date information. Remaining lazy and undereducated today is no excuse with so many free information sources. We know that we as humans chose to remain ignorant so as to pretend that we are not responsible. The third step is to cease being irresponsible and act responsibly. Governments are responsible when they are accountable, transparent and provide for the common good. Neither Chavez nor Castro nor Correa do this at all. No New Age Cult , whether it be Chavez's goofy new age religion or the pathetically manipulative new age cults of child rearing swirling across the vapid and lazy mavens  of Quito today, called more excuses for avoiding life, will deliver human problems toward solutions from the foolish and manipulative mess that is made. Just ask Joe Stigletz what his funding source is and ask yourself why Ecuador today closes its future while other nations' futures brighten. And know the answers.
