Correa Sings Kumbaya Solo in Cumbaya

December 14, 2007  Our intrepid citizens tell us that non other than el presidente Rafael Correa showed up in Cumbaya, Ecuador's most exclusive suburb outside Quito- not unlike Park Avenue or Brickell Avenue or Chevy Chase in the USA- on Sunday at the SuperMaxi grocery store.

As first hand eye witnesses tell us, the grocery store's computers malfunctioned creating long lines at the check out counters. Any who know SuperMaxi's normally efficient systems will also grasp the concept of the frustration felt by shoppers on a Sunday when the registers go down. Caught inside the human event was el comandante- trapped by human error and mechanical break downs. Once his sovereign-ness was detected for who and what he is- alone, with no security....and far away from home or even Montecristi, and without even an excuse of a  Sunday visit to la madre who conveniently resides inside the USA, el jefe número uno Correa was offered a chance to butt up in line by a fawning communist supporter.

`Not so fast' said citizen shoppers waiting in long lines.  We are all in this together and no one butts in line. For his part, Correa explained that he did not seek advantage to leap in line. But because Correa could not manipulate the situation, here is what we do know: Correa was shopping in the most exclusive and well heeled community in Ecuador on Sunday. He was alone and lacking any security detail or noticeable family members and was at least an hour from home and palace.

What we also know is that Rafael Correa is not honest so we may never know what he was doing in Cumbaya. We also know that Correa was fired from Cumbaya's largest employer, Universidad San Francisco, as with all his jobs, for failing to perform his post. Never one to forget to make self advantage, Correa sued the school over loss of his residential -aka above norm housing- in Cumbaya. Seems he was more upset with losing his home in a posh, almost gaited community, than he was about serving the students he had pledged to educate and never did. For his troubles, Correa settled with the school for cash which he then used to buy his pre presidential palace home where he keeps his Belgian born "wife" and children sequestered to this day.

But what we ponder was Correa doing solo in Cumbaya's massive grocery store alone on Sunday and far from hearth and home?

Clearly Correa was singing kumbaya in Cumbaya with a different beat. It is not known for whom or for what Correa shopped.

But we ask: ask not for whom he shops....he shops for thee. In other words, we will never know what our Chavez on a moped was doing or has been doing....or will be doing.

We also seriously doubt that he was pondering how he would get out of the obvious facts now on the table that Ecuador has been hosting no less than three FARC camps. Those pesky satellite photos always seem to expand the knowledge that Correa can lie but he cannot run. What we see is the exposure of Correa's duplicity regarding his neutrality for the FARC, also called support for the narcoterrorists/ FARC groups, and only Chavez and The pro FARC sub denizens will be singing kumbaya with this Cumbaya wanna be. Problem is...Correa has now seen himself and his lies exposed...just as he was exposed in Cumbaya.

Will Correa finally kick the FARC out of Ecuador? Watch again as Correa tells us that his crack defenders of law and order, obviously already tipping off the FARC, arrive too late to find the FARC. Anyone who believes the propaganda that Correa seeks to turn away the FARC is a liar and is selling something.

HOY reports on another pop up appearance by Correa on Tuesday at his daughter's school Christmas performance. And like Sunday's shopping event and all his appearances in cheesy hotel rooms in the north of Quito, he appeared sans esposa, reminding us that Correa himself has stated that Ecuador no longer has a "first lady." And yet in this instance....his daughter's tony private school Christmas concert in Spanish and French, he is surrounded by his standard phalanxes of goons. And as in Cumbaya, Correa is offered a more frontal seating by an older pro Chavez granny, only to be shouted down by the crowds that he is not deserving. Thus far, Correa's private schools for his family will escape his school shuttering excessive tax plans to end private schools and insert Castro's communist curricula by the books, as pledged. Such is even handed justice under the dictator which is ruining Ecuador and such is the state of all that remains in Ecuador. Unlike U.S. diplomats in Quito who enjoy private school tuitions for their children at UI.S. tax payer expense and could care less that Correa will tax their private schools out of existence, Correa continues to pretend that he is of the proletariat when in fact he is not and has never been anything than a middle class aspirant to the upper echelons of power. Correa seeks to control all that he touches. Just as we see that the total control sequestered as it is in Montecristi resides solely with Rafael Correa.

Here is Alberto Acosta, Correa's proxy in Montecristi.

He is shown running from the media- and any nominal transparency- after being flown by helicopter to Correa in the palace for explicit instructions on how to destroy democracy and cut off any possible dissension or debate in Montecristi. Here is Acosta running out the back door of the palace like the deceiver he is and fleeing to his compound in Montecristi where all are sequestered and all are paid comparatively huge sums to remain as such. Such is the state of the dictatorship in Ecuador. Were Acosta a man of honor, he would share facts based on honor- not deception.
