A Tale of Two Cities: Ecuadorean Falls 47 Stories off Skyscraper and Lives; Alvaro Noboa Stumbles and is Abandoned

January 5, 2008   After 10 extremely intricate surgeries to save his life, an Ecuadorean window washer who fell almost 50 stories in New York has benefited from the incredible talents of the highly trained neurology and orthopedic departments at Colombia Presbyterian-Cornell New York Hospital in New York. We hope he is a legal resident and we wish him well. In Montecristi, Alvaro Noboa has been adjudged not by a jury of his peers but by a stacked and packed illicit tribunal and faces mandatory fines of over $6 million for alleged campaign over runs. He will be further judged by the highly prejudiced Correa lackey named Jorge Acosta who will again sit as high judge for the Electoral Tribunal (TSE). Further prejudicing the pre trial matters, kangaroo "justice" Acosta has already said that Noboa faces total seizure of his entire ownings/his property and will be kicked out of his two seats at the paid day job for anarchists called the constituent assembly in Montecristi.

In fact, Noboa has already been tried and hung up to dry in the non-justice system that is Correa's Cuban paradise on earth called Ecuador. The window washer who fell almost 50 stories was given a chance to live. Alvaro Noboa is not so lucky. In fact, Noboa has every single legal protection procedure stripped from him. Of course he could pay the $6.5 million which would place the Correa government at the top of the world's List of Largest State Extortion Rackets which in a real democracy might be called a penalty of abuse. In this case, it is an abuse itself.

Unlike the nearly dead window washer in New York who received support and care, the mostly dead Noboa is watching his fellow Ecuadoreans deserting him and running away, as if their abandonment makes them appear ethical or more favorable to Rafael Correa. That is not the only difference between these two men. Alvaro Noboa has consistently made grave errors in judgment whereas the window washer only made one error to fall off during his job. Noboa has surrounded himself with some of the worst advisors and compatriots in the region, refusing to reach out and coalesce with actors who have actual experience, hold even a modicum of integrity, and who could have strengthened his positions. But as with the incredibly stupid advice given to last year's Cynthia Viteri in her doomed-by-design, hopeless bid for the presidency by hiring a Hillary Clinton campaign director to insure her defeat and provide inside campaign information to the Correa camp [the Clintonite was no doubt under pressure from Chris Dodd's operational agent named U.S. amb Jewell through El Chopo-like delivery stoolies or her formerly aligned Mayor Nebot].  Mr. Noboa has routinely failed himself and his people to craft a working team of any substance or consequence. He will need them now. In the vast wasteland that is the herd mentality of manipulative living called Ecuador, many of his former allies have already run away, having sold out to Rafael Correa, claiming they just....need the money.

Noboa frankly has only himself to blame. Stupidly he too bought in to the passive-aggressive game called Ecuador's domestic policy regime which primarily insists that no one say one word about Correa's debaucheries, none turn states' evidence and all succumb to the sweeping Chavez-funded extortion rackets underway across the Andes for personal self enrichment. Like most irresponsible Ecuadoreans, Noboa ridiculously believed that he too could manipulate the Chavez-Castro-Correa take over of Ecuador for fun and profit. Noboa was outflanked, outmaneuvered and now sold out. Every time Correa threatened one Ecuadorean, all turned a blind eye and surrendered. Including Noboa.

Until now that is.

We do not know what will become of Mr. Noboa in this woebegone zone where futures dim and prospects are destroyed because like most Ecuadoreans, commitment to progress and actual footfalls forward stopped about three years ago. We do know that Ecuadoreans have become a lawless land under Correa's narcodemocracy. Looking every bit the fool that Hugo Chavez is, Ecuador's "government" is as ridiculous as Colombia's Piedad Cordoba- herself first lady of the FARC in Miraflores- in defending the indefensible FARC.

The MIAMI HERALD today not only reminds readers that the FARC continues to try to commandeer over half of Colombia for its burgeoning crime empire but that the FARC are about as evil as evil can be. Read it hereand here
complete with a year by year chronology of the FARC- fathered little boy who also is alive and healthy today not because the FARC cares for its prisoners but because one former FARC member snuck the horribly abused little toddler out to safety and away from the tender mercies of the FARC which of course simply kills a lot of their own. Somehow we doubt that Ingrid Betancourt will ever again preach the virtues of negotiating with terrorists as she once did. We surmise that she has witnessed the stupidities of those who claim that "diplomacy" is effective when dealing with brutal savages who will cut your throat as soon as look at you. These are not legitimate actors in the FARC: they are evil demons of greed and crime. Hugo Chavez and Rafael Correa are helping the FARC expand and spend their money. Correa notes....these poor people just need the cash. We do not know if Castro's so called Cuban doctors have been dispatched to bring the obviously suicidal Ingrid Betancourt back to life.

What we do know is that Ecuador and Venezuela looked completely stupid, irresponsible, and adolescent in the ridiculous FARC adventurism over the New Year. It was a relief to observe Alvaro Uribe touch down in their summer camp site cum military base as the only adult present and lay down the facts, not that Chavez-Correa-Kirchner seemed troubled at all by the non facts of the so called operation. Next time Piedad Cordoba, queen of the FARC, emerges from the sheltering arms of Miraflores Palace with a map in her hands, know that you are about to be duped by the Chavez-FARC propaganda team. Cordoba, herself a FARC moll and probably a fugitive from justice, needs to turn states evidence. Chavez, with Rafael Correa, needs to turn off all support for the FARC whether it be transport of drugs and weapons and personnel or their terror training camps. For his part, Uribe needs to stop playing a Mexican Hat Dance with Chavez and get on with it. Notably missing in this jungle summer camp for idiots in Colombia with Nestor Kirchner was France's Sarkozy who took the low road with his arm candy, courtesy of his Middle Eastern pasha pals. There is nothing left to be done about this tawdry tale except issue a cease and desist order from all adult leaders that no longer will adolescents run the show, as has been the case for too long now, also called "international diplomacy."

Had the hapless window washer fell to Earth in Quito, we can only guess his fate. Irresponsible adolescents do not save lives nor do they save families nor do they save nations. Adults do. Adults who work hard to serve like responsible adults save lives by doing the best they can every day, making no excuses and serving to the best of their capabilities. This ethic does not exist anywhere in Ecuador today. We do see some signs of responsible behavior intermittently growing in Venezuela but it is still not enough. Bolivia is trying and is a massive check mate right now. None of these three nations need to abandon hope or abandon responsible progress for their own futures which occurs because the running away feels more lucrative than the hard work. This is repulsive and untenable. Many more will die, splattered on the ground, for lack of applied common sense and responsible core adult behaviors, all the while complaining that "no one understood them" or” we needed the money."

When death is on the line, you do not make deals. You do not manipulate. You act in a direct line to save lives. You do not play games; you do not sell out or negotiate. You act to save life. Two men fell the other day. One was an unknown immigrant. He was saved by extraordinary acts of courtesy by people who did not know him and cared less about his name or fortune. Not once was he checked to see, as too many Ecuadoreans check first...to see if he was "rich!" Not once. Charity and adult behavior simply kicked in to high gear as if this were a natural next step toward saving life. In Guayaquil, Alvaro Noboa stumbles and is threatened with prison and total asset seizure by a fake court with a fake judge. No known act of charity or responsible adult behavior appears for their former employer called Alvaro Noboa as Ecuadoreans do what they do so well: refuse to stand on principle and abandon even handed law and order to the tender mercies of the anarchists residing in Montecristi.

This is not just a cautionary tale of better medical care in Manhattan. Ecuador hosts large numbers of highly trained doctors, none of them from Cuba because the thousands now of Cuban doctors of course are not really doctors at all and are badly trained and schooled to begin with. The difference is in the approach to life and a commitment to a life with charity toward others, which does not exist any more in Ecuador. From birth, all mothers instruct Ecuadoreans to laugh at charity and ignore others while pretending that the state will provide. Hiding behind the fake story that the oligarchs have ruined Ecuador and need to be destroyed, all Ecuadoreans pass the blame around and still refuse to lift one finger for anyone or anybody in general. The lesson here is to work toward installing communities where quality of life exists, not gaited condos to hide behind and not running away but a place where the good of the whole- each person- is the real deal.

To succeed, Ecuadoreans must finally come together. And because of the dire situation facing them, they must finally work as a team with known allies for liberty, not the fake NGO actors currently littering the landscape. These are not defenders of freedom...they are selling out freedom just as surely as they tell us all that the "new" tax laws are about tax revenue collection and not about Cuban style socialism which it is.

To counter the Chavez-Correa-Cuban government plan underway which is to "divide and conquer," Ecuadoreans must reform the lines, reunite and coalesce to make a safety net. The next time another falls to Earth, he may not be so fortunate. Like the FARC's hostages, life is treated on the cheap. The FARC sees life not as sacred but as a bargaining chip or white slavery. Rafael Correa thinks this is just all right and urges that we should all be "neutral." Neutral is not a response when death is on the line.
