April 4, 2008    On March 31, 2008, the revered media publication Editor & Publisher wrote of media shut downs- by predetermined Andean governmental profiteering rackets, that " `The changes and laws that President Chavez seeks to impose against the will of the people as expressed on December 2, 2007, are clearly aimed at preventing the free expression of ideas and opinions, taking control of cultural organizations and forms of cultural expression, and subordinating the Venezuelan educational system to dogmatism and universally failed teaching methods clearly inspired in totalitarianism,' the Miami-based press freedom group [IAPA] said in a resolution adopted at the conclusion of its three-day meeting...

IAPA specifically condemned the `illegal seizure' of Radio Caracas Television's (RCTV) broadcast equipment after the network's broadcast license was not renewed; the governments `repeated' refusal to disclose public information to news organizations; its legal `harassment' of the independent Globovision television news channel; and its `discriminatory' placement of government advertising, typically an important source of income for Latin American newspapers...It also noted with alarm what it said was an increase in the number of state-owned media, which it called `clear evidence of new efforts by various governments to control information. 'In addition to the seizures of media property in Venezuela, IAPA said the government of Guyana now has `a monopoly of radio frequency.' Bolivia is creating `chains of state-owned radio and TV stations,' allegedly with the help of Venezuela and Iran, IAPA said." If you prefer to pretend that these are not Cuban-Venezuelan-Iranian-Bolivian-Ecuadorean state backed rackets as criminal monopolies to overtake media companies, which benefit from the God-given right to free speech, then you really need to study mafia-style tactics. Correa and Chavez have gone to the mattresses and the public is literally disenfranchised along with all freedoms in what will soon be seen as a cascade of deteriorations which have led to debilitations and cessations of freedoms to deny Western Civilization's higher achievements.

These are stirring words from the IAPA to describe the brown outs of media by governmental take overs in Ecuador [where no one cares about the loss of freedom] and Venezuela, where some care but have irresponsibly refused to responsibly challenge the Chavez regime appropriately. The IAPA spoke truth to power the other day...but no one seemed to care much nor take any follow up action. In fact, while the IAPA was busy speaking the truth, the Chavez and Correa regimes launched an expensive media campaign, illegally using state funds, to further deny free speech and lie some more about the end of liberty in the Andes.

Free speech is not only the bulwark of democracy but without it, the already wretched educational systems in the Andes suffer even worse fates as one after another school indoctrinates more and more neo Marxist bullhooey and prevents whole communities from preparing to live responsibly in this new century, ill fated as they are, following the Cuban model where manipulated educational curricula serves the state and keeps the population dumb, unprepared and even more readily manipulated as victims. Without free speech, victimization and state dependency grows like the cancer it is. Rafael Correa and Hugo Chavez are spending lots of money to enforce state dependency today.

Following the end of free speech typically comes the end of due process and protections under law. There is no due process in either Venezuela or Ecuador today because all justices are neither transparent nor legitimate and are all held dearly inside the hands of their presidents.

These two presidents protect and defend the FARC, beholden as they are to numerous criminal rackets. The MIAMI HERALD reports to day of the current Sarkozy of France push to assist former leftwing politician hostage Betancourt, “The mission resembled one the French mounted in 2003, although the earlier effort was secret. Then-Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin, who had been Betancourt's teacher in France, sent a Hercules C-130 plane to Brazil to fetch Betancourt amid word that she was ill and the rebels would free her. The mission ended in failure, and the FARC said it had never planned to release her."
 
For his part, Chavez tells us he has "lost" contact with the FARC while his presidential palace FARC moll housemate, Piedad Cordoba, looking more and more like a fugitive from Colombian justice herself, apparently has no problem acting in direct communications as a direct informational representative with the FARC and has just released new demands for hostage swaps based on release of FARC prisoners from USA's prisons. Cordoba does these things because she is in direct contact with the FARC, even while living with Chavez at Miraflores. Cordoba also believes she will be sheltered from justice due to her shared support by the likes of US democrats named McGovern, Pelosi, Delahunt and Schakowsky and their shared lie that they are only "helping the poor and helping negotiate with the FARC."  The FARC, along with Chavez and Correa, know well that because of the dirty double cross performed on a previous Shining Path-FARC hostage release from USA prisons for a convicted drug felon, the criminal was allowed to be freed, back to the tender mercies of the government of Ecuador. Ecuador swore up and down that it would retain the nasty criminal in jail for a very very long time for his crimes- if only the USA would show a little faith and release him back to Ecuador, which it did and where upon his safe return, Ecuador promptly reneged on its promise and released the criminal without so much as a by your leave. That released prisoner was Rafael Correa's drug running, convicted father for whom he does now toil to exonerate his name by not only denying that the FARC and the Shining Path are terror groups but that narcoterrorism is welcome in Ecuador because they are, after all, part of his sociopathic need to understand the removal of all stigma against any criminals. Rafael Correa's own mother, herself abused as were her children by the happily released convicted drug runner padre de Correa went on to serve as the primary force in Rafael Correa's life: she instructed him on how to never be honest with himself and his community, how to manipulate all life around him and that the USA was evil for jailing Sr. Correa, la padre, for his narcoterror acts, even as he had been caught red handed. She also advised of the glories of an authoritarian state which could manipulate law and order with the wave of a hand. Rafael Correa learned well his lessons from his manipulative Mama who is more like most every Ecuadorean Madre than most care to know. This is apparently an epidemic in deceitful living patterns now, all engineered by foolish, dishonest manipulators who care nothing about anyone but themselves. The Correa family is prima facie evidence of this pathology, currently sweeping Ecuador.
 
But Correa's hatred for law and order and the USA goes back a very long time. For her part, Correa's mother claims she is "safe" in the USA [as do all Ecuadoreans who live selfish and self serving lives inside the USA and do not once contribute one second toward the common good of the USA nor care one bit about same, selfish as they remain] while she is "not safe" in the manipulative lawless Ecuador where, under her son's fine hand, there is no law and there is no order and this is only out of control murder and mayhem. Attendant to the lazy arrogant national character of Ecuadoreans now is a profound willingness to stubbornly blame everyone else in the universe for all their nervous problems and all their imagined social strifes. Sra. Correa lives inside the sheltering arms of US laws- a custom based on law and order she herself denied for her own nation and enabled additional crimes to serve her own ends and none others. She is a selfish, vain woman who aided and abetted her criminal husband who is now mostly living through her very criminal, very childish, badly educated and very FARC loving son. If this sounds familiar, it is because it is. The Correas are not alone: they are everyman in Ecuador today.  Living la manipulative vida en Ecuador is the national past time today and as such, is morally repugnant and societally debasing. These are not profiles in courage but are profiles in manipulative criminal adventurism. There is however much we may understand the pathology here, still no excuse for criminality.

Rafael Correa seriously believes, because his own mother and almost the entire female population of Ecuador, tells him so....that he is a real man, exemplary of all men in Ecuador now, if and only if he manipulates reality, lies a lot, is emasculated,  and complains a lot. It is the Ecuadorean national past time. But Correa comes now as president to remove by force any and all who do not hold his manipulative crime running positions. He has illegally kicked out Congress, courts, governmental leaders, the media, truth tellers and military-intelligence officials who do not join his stunning advancement of all things criminal in Ecuador. Insulza of the OAS praises Correa's "alternative democracy" which is not democracy at all but is a narcostate which of course Insulza is hired on to help enshrine and enable. Rather than publicly announce Correa's Hit List from his hand picked STATE HATE LIST of freedom lovers as originally planned two weeks ago, Correa chose last week to call together his high military and security commands and inform them that all are either with him in his cover up of his complicity as state sponsor of terror with the FARC or they are not with him in covering up crimes and will be either removed or jailed or killed. Or as Fenton Communications and GOE lobbyist in chief to many global scum, including Correa, advised el presidente Correa: ` Shut up- do not reveal your true nature in the USA: we will cover your pretend story. ‘However, the word is out.
 
Rafael Correa has also essentially handed over the management of the utterly incompetent PetroEcuador to his military. Correa has enjoined the state of Ecuador in a specious and wild eyed environmental claim between $10 to $60 billion  against Chevron Texaco to defend PetroEcuador's theft of $40 million from Texaco in the 1990s for environmental repairs [currently adjudicated in a jungle hut by a recently converted Muslim judge]  plus its refusal to clean up its own incompetent pollutions, many caused by non maintenance of their own PetroEcuador pipeline while stealing OCCIDENTAL's assets, including the country's second pipeline to the tune of about $5 billion. Ecuador's military would be well advised to hand PetroEcuador- and all its criminal acts and phony lawsuits with so called Ecuadorean plaintiffs- back to Rafael Correa before the military is left responsible for Correa's disastrous plans. Correa has a pattern: it is to run and blame everyone else. He may be running out of hiding places.
