April 25, 2008      For once the Chavista propaganda gets it right- after a decade of lies and disinformation campaigns and we are grateful for their cheery graphics and the ever ready for another day/another cocktail party attired with no gravitas whatsoever Sra Kirchner on the cover. Yes- the Chavistas, morphing as they have from the bad marriage of the Fora de Sao Paulo and the hard line European, murdering Stasi-bred REDS with the ghoulish and on life support criminal Castro regime have their own glossy magazine chirpily showing us what they have just done. Mr. Negri and Carlos the Jackal are no doubt thrilled. We are, however not thrilled even though we are grateful for their hemispheric road map and in your face bon hommie that their criminal cartel of Bolivarianism now controls 3/4 of South America: a scourge that no one North of the Rio Grande River dared utter its name. But DIARIO VEA brazenly does the hard work for us, revealing what the U.S. Department of State and every other multinational organization has refused to discuss or even be honest about: South America and its growth potential and its honesty have just gone south- south to a no man's land where all that is illicit is hurriedly being made licit. Worse- that which Western Civilization holds dear and its societal standards for right and wrong has just been tossed out on its ear.
 
You may call this the Chavez-Correa victory lap: a brazen chutzpah to state what the USA dares not say: the truth about Chavez's buying power viz his extortion rackets and illegal political money buying. But you would be wrong. Many of these nations were not forced at gun point to step in to Chavez's Faustian Bargain with the devil: like Correa they wanted to sell their souls and did so with gay abandon, abandoning all legitimate principles of their high office.

Take a good look: this is what the world sees; a continent of irresponsible manipulative liars overwhelming the hemisphere and installing well known personal values and family values of deception, fraud and unaccountability.

What is also noticeable now is the clear road map, what Correa-Chavez and their DISIP organs now call the "Scissors Plan" to cut off Peru and Colombia.

Chile remains a question mark with some recent Chilean Senate improvements which might stall the Insulza-Chavez take over of Chile for a while. We hope so. But South America is not out of danger yet at all. Lazy, arrogant North Americans claim foolishly that Chavez's weaponry from Russia will be tin piles rusting in the sun and inconsequential. This too is a lie: Russia's new weaponry is New Age and more than half the time readily reliable and certainly menacing. Lazy, arrogant and dishonest North Americans told us to NOT listen to what Chavez was saying but what he was doing. The aberrant lie there was that Chavez is so megalomaniacal that he was actually telling us what he was doing even as he went right on ahead and did it. The lying semi agent of Hugo Chavez named Teodoro Pettkoff of Caracas tells us this week that Venezuela is a "vibrant democracy" when Venezuela today is a state sponsor of terror and holds nothing remotely resembling democracy or anything vibrant at all as its own citizens surrender what little ethics they held to the tender mercies of the Chavez extortion racket plan for government uber allies. Lazy, arrogant and deceptive North Americans and the OAS also told us that Hugo Chavez and Rafael Correa run democracies and are legitimate when nothing could be further from the truth. They also tell us that Chavez and Correa are clean and are not formally entwined with the FARC- another lie which fully abandons the facts.
 
What is also noticeable from this new age map of aberrants is that in each instance, except Brazil, US Democratic Party linked and their kissing cousins at the OAS "DEMOCRACY AND GOVERNANCE" operatives officially or unofficially actually aided and abetted the take over of democracy by the current crop of liars, ninnyhammers, dimwits and dunces called the highest leaders in their lands, also called Perfect Latin American Idiots and also called criminals by others more inclined to honest usages of nouns and adjectives. In each instance, the cheerful smiling faces of the perfect Latin idiots, sometimes called presidents and should be called perps, has abandoned democracy and rule of law and do rush to expand the criminal extortion rackets of their own growing Bolivarian criminal cabal.
 
 
The MIAMI HERALD ran a terrific piece on 4-22-08 which called out the OAS for its refusal to defend its own principles and Charters. Here is what MAURICIO CLAVER-CARONE had to say,"

"...Earlier this month, government officials and nongovernmental organizations from many of those same countries gathered with Cuban opposition leaders at a conference in South Florida to discuss the relevance of similar principles for neighboring Cuba, only to earn a scathing editorial attack from the ruling Communist Party newspaper, Granma.

'`There is no space for the dreams of adversaries, internal mercenaries and fifth columnists,' reads the editorial.  Much has been reported about the Cuban regime recently signing both the U.N. Covenant on Political and Civil Rights and another on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. The first reaffirms such basic freedoms as the right to assemble peacefully, to practice one's religion, to equal protection of the law, to privacy and to leave one's country and return to it. The economic covenant requires signatories to ensure fair wages and the freedom to form and join independent trade unions. Cuba's single-party, totalitarian, communist state, not only signed the covenants; it proclaimed itself to already be in compliance. All but the politically naive find this claim of compliance to be laughable. The international community has repeatedly denounced Cuba for its continued abuse of human rights. Unfortunately the United Nations has already up-ended the credibility of its own covenants by allowing Cuba and other notorious violators of human rights to sit on its Human Rights Council, a weak and dysfunctional enforcement agency.

...After decades of civil wars and strife, the 21st century began with 34 out of 35 countries in the Western Hemisphere enjoying the freedoms that multiparty democracies foster. Cuba remains the exception. To strengthen democratic institutions, the hemisphere's democracies adopted the Inter-American Democratic Charter during a 2001 summit in Lima. The charter encapsulates the conviction that freedom and representative democracy should be preconditions for political and economic engagement.

Failure of the region to enforce that principle would threaten to reopen an all-too-familiar door to authoritarianism throughout the hemisphere. While the Castro brothers were juggling titles, the general secretary of the Organization of American States -- under whose auspices the charter was signed -- failed to promote, or even spotlight, the need for Cuba's ''new'' regime to open its tightly shut door to representative democracy.

Because the OAS missed its opportunity, the burden of challenging repression in Cuba remains regrettably and squarely on the shoulders of Cuba's embattled dissidents, just as -- years ago -- the burden was on the dissidents of the former Soviet bloc. It is a heavy burden for people to bear alone. Central and Eastern Europeans have proven the Helsinki Accord to be a historic beacon of hope, freedom and enlightenment. In the Western Hemisphere, it behooves the countries that signed the Inter-American Democratic Charter to hold up their own beacon of hope to the oppressed who need it most -- namely, the Cuban people."
 
And because the OAS is still missing its opportunity to challenge repression in Venezuela and Ecuador- along with Cuba- it is a profoundly shocking truism that the burden of challenging this active evil does indeed fall squarely on the shoulders of pro liberty actors. To be sure, all pro liberty actors are hampered with their hands tied behind their backs daily because the USA funds organizations that actually work for the OAS whose refusal to stand for anything principled, including functional democracy is well known today. And yes- it behooves us all to hold up a beacon of hope for the oppressed as liberty runs and courage fails all across Latin America as the USA's Speaker of the House Pelosi uses the Colombian Free Trade agreement as a driver for her own inside the USA labor unionist give-away package to the USA's Democratic Party. This is not diplomacy but is bald political jiggering of the crudest, most banal sort.
