Constituent Assembly Could Extend Its Sessions Again

After the two-month extension of the initial six-month period granted by law, the Constituent Assembly is now in a rush to finalize the new Constitution by the July 29 deadline.

However, progress in drafting the new Constitution has been extremely slow and Assembly President Alberto Acosta (a member of President Correa’s Alianza Pais movement) is now openly asking to extend the work of the Assembly beyond the July 29 deadline established in the popular referendum that validated the creation of a new Constituent Assembly. Of the expected 522 articles the new Constitution will include, only 57 have been already approved.

Since this is a “full power” Assembly, its members could possibly vote to extend its own duration, even though the referendum only envisioned an Assembly working for six months, maximum eight months.

Mr. Acosta believes another extension would allow for a deeper debate and a better Constitution.

The popularity of the Assembly has declined very substantially since it was created, as lawmakers spent an inordinately large amount of time discussing and debating issues that were not related to the new Constitution and that on some counts the electorate saw as frivolous.

In an unexpected development, the President of the Constituent Assembly, Alberto Acosta, resigned.

Comment: The local press speculates the move was due to open disagreements with President Correa regarding the content of the new constitution the Constituent Assembly has been drafting. In addition, the pro-government Alianza Pais and the executive do not seem very keen on extending the working of the Assembly beyond the end-July deadline as proposed by Mr. Acosta.

Mr. Acosta, a radical environmentalist, has clashed with the executive on several instances, particularly over the policies aimed toward the exploration of natural resources. President Correa wants to expedite the work of the Assembly as the popularity of his government continues to decline, while Mr. Acosta defends the need to discuss thoroughly the new Constitution articles even if that means delaying the work of the Assembly.

The dissent of Mr. Acosta should increase the political challenge faced by President Correa to approve the new Constitution in a national referendum late this year."

As our readers know, ECrisis has stated that no one knows what is in Sr. Viciano Pastor's authored Ecuadorean constitution- no one that is except the Asambleistas in Montecristi, Rafael Correa per se, well known hard Red Marta Heidegger and her Chavez funded communist constitution writing business  out of Caracas which coordinates EURO Reds like Pastor of Spain for enshrining the legitimization of all that should never be legitimized which has the full faith and warranty of the Soros-laced NGO vultures from the OAS and US AID for socialism cohabiting foolish Ecuador today,  and of course Rafael Correa and his entire team called his cabinet of Chavistas.

Thereto, party planning Linda Jewell knows where the language is and really needs to share her communist manifesto constitution language from Correa's team with her real bosses- those who pay her salary.  Even Rafael Correa -el presidente- has said that the constitution was written long ago.

But Correa's teen age anarchists on a binge and over paid Asambleistas holed up in Montecristi, without the common sense god gave a dog and operating with the collective wisdom of 14 year olds and the collective IQ of about the same number 14, are having fun protecting the heraldic rights, as they see it, to scam more money from Ecuadoreans and run more FARC monies through Banco de Pichincha while Rafael Correa makes even more dirty and illegal deals with Iran and its proxy named Hugo Chavez. In fact, Ecuador is today a proxy state for Hezbollah-Iran viz Hugo Chavez and Rafael Correa. All Ecuadorean money launderers, pretending to be Lebanese but in fact Hezbollah actors, are deeply involved in this scam.
 
Drafting a 522 article Constitution in Montecristi is a farce. It has always been a farce- a huge public lie perpetrated by liars. The Asambleistas barely read and write anyway and could care less about anything remotely resembling functional constitutional language. This teen age rabble has not once- not ever- convened any who have legitimate constitutional law experience. Ecuadoreans pretend that no one understands them and no one likes them [ which today is true because most Ecuadoreans are manipulative children who whine and screech to get their way while refusing to grow up and act responsibly], and thus no constitutional scholar is ever welcome to look under the bed of fools in Montecristi. If these Asambleistas had nothing to hide, they would welcome global scholars but instead they labor under the lie that these idiots who never did an honest day of work anyway are competent to rehash a whole new constitution when not one has a clue what they are doing except destroying Ecuador for the greater glory of Rafael Correa's criminal incompetence and Hugo Chavez's wanderlust.
Ecuadoreans call this their "sovereign right." We call it irresponsible and dishonest.
 
Essential to this so called constitution is the reminder that the best constitutions fit neatly on a few pages- not the hundreds and hundreds of pages currently seen in the neo socialist EU so called constitution and the Chavez-Correa-Morales meanderings which intentionally are liberty stripping. But Rafael Correa kicked out all Ecuadorean justice and constitutional law and suspended habeas corpus for 18 months now to insert his new law of the land which grants Correa legitimacy for what he already has illegitimately seized: full powers in an undemocratic state where nothing is accountable and nothing is honest. Ecuadoreans like Correa because he is manipulative, adolescent and dishonest because it makes them feel right at home. We call this disgusting and reprehensible.
 
Today, Sr. Fernando Cordero [himself formally known for years as a well known Marxist from Cuenca and Correa foot soldier]  as VP of the FARC legalizing Asambleistas in Montecristi tells us that he is "confused" by Acosta's departure but hastily adds that he will move up as president of the Assembly. What he should know is that he and the entire unconstitutional Correa team and all the kangaroo Asambleistas belong in jail for illegally doing what they are doing. Cordero and Acosta are interchangeable as agents of Change that Ecuadoreans Will Soon See as the Folly of Their blind Faith in the Changes of Communism Hitting them on the Head. Pulling Acosta is meaningless. His resignation is meaningless.
 
Comes now Barack Hussein Obama to tell us that he has pulled his new Seal of the United States which we reported on the other day. Seems his abuse of the Seal is not unlike intellectual property theft and could have handed him a cease and desist order from the US government. But like Rafael Correa's promises, Obama's promises mean very little too. Obama has not promised to clean up or remove his commitments to undoing the essentials of the USA- he has simply promised to not be honest about what he stands for. Correa has not cleaned up his commitments to the Castros, to Chavez, to the FARC and Iran's dirty money....he has just hidden this some more. Acting unaccountably with other people's money and being dishonest is the hallmark of all neo socialists today.

 Currently Obama has crafted a "National Catholic Advisory Council" of his own handpicked U.S. Democrats whose sole and defining cause juste for serving this dishonest and shameful "Council" is their total support for federal funding of abortion upon demand. These so called Catholics look identical to the state party apparatchiks in Castro's Cuba called "church leaders" and Party leaders who tacitly approve all communist state abortions on demand, state suicide, and free transgender sex operations. While most normative Catholics tell a different tale regarding the sacredness of life which begins at conception for it does, these moral relativists want to pretend that all this can be ignored and manipulated so that the sanctity of choice over life wins out over the sanctity of life. Typically this gaggle of moral relativists also enthuses about federal funding for euthanasia, for legalizing narcotics, has indeed co funded off shore speculator and Chavez's fake, pre-rigged voting machines called SMARTMATICS [currently in a patchwork operational stance and never fully trashed as appropriate because Obama's political juggernaut-called the Chicago political machine did the non-bid sight-unseen buying and the installing of the Chavez voter integrity-dooming voting machines plus did fly in to Illinois under cover of night scores of illegal Chavistas to actually manage the Smartmatics, claiming that North Americans do not know computers....errrr] plus the virtues of dishonesty in general while fully backing the overpaid Politics of Hatred in the USA. Abortion, euthanasia and Hatred is the hallmark of these Obama Catholics who also turned a massive blind eye as their preferred Catholics abused privilege and acted illegally in the largest pedophile-homosexual job training scam in recent history, called pedophile Catholic priests who deserve no sympathy whatsoever.

If you believe that Obama's National Catholic Advisory Council in any way contains the spirit of the Church today, you are deeply misled for these are nothing but a dishonest political activist gaggle pretending saintliness or FAITH! for personal greed and political power.    
 



And if you like the red globe rising, and of course the Cuban-Chavez propagandists tell us it is glorious, then you will really like Obama's symbolic effronteries to mankind's greatest gifts of grace, also called the rise of Western Civilization which of course is not part of the Soros-funded Red World Rising. Obama asks us to believe...in his deceitful neo socialism. God gifts mankind with the power to make choices and hold faith. But it is a true deceptive evil to "ask" men to use what God has given and what God has detailed instead for what Obama has NOT detailed. God reveals his plan for mankind....Obama does not. It is a huge distinction between real religiosity and the fake cult of political messiahs.  But Obama dropped his illicit abuse of the Seal of the United States but has not once explained why he feels as he does that all legitimacies as known under law in the USA must be done away with for the expediencies of one world/one globe....one obviously red globe...under the Soros plan of unification of the statist minions called serfs as led by offshore speculators and policy wonks on their payrolls. This is not honest and it is not helpful. It is moral fascism.
 
Currently, one of Soros's babies called MOVEON.org is running TV ads in the USA that depict a well heeled mother informing the viewers that John McCain cannot have her new baby, her son....not for the US military to protect and defend liberty, including even Soros's right to free speech which he intentionally unsexes. But these liars at MoveOn forget that the USA has a volunteer army and that it is an honor to serve to protect the virtues of the USA- not a shame. But the Obama campaign cannot wait to cut the US defense budget by half to double the dishonest fighting power of the Soros front line actors from the anti USA socialists of US AID-the U.S. Department of State, as Obama has detailed.
 
The New York Times on June 23, 2008 noted correctly of the deceit by the Obama campaign team's soul sister Soros group MoveOn.org: "The MoveOn ad is unapologetic in its selfishness, and barely disguised in its disdain for those who have chosen to serve — and its contempt for those parents who might be proud of sons and daughters who are serving. The ad boldly embraces a vision of a selfish and infantilized America, suggesting that military service and sacrifice are unnecessary and deplorable relics of the past. And the sole responsibility of others. "
 
This then is the essential of the deceptively dishonest Chavez-Correa-Obama CHANGE: selfishness, manipulation, deceit, self promoting greed and laziness which never ever elevates the common good nor once serves charitably or honorably with accountability.  It is not a bridge too far to request that this juggernaut of self loathing take its wheels off. None of us need demand the RIGHT to Selfishness and Manipulative Living. While Ecuador's Opus Dei may inform us all that this is just great, we know better. We know this because living selfishly was never honest.
 
Yesterday, the WALL STREET JOURNAL ran a superb piece on the governmental deceptions of Argentina which laid low an entire nation, once proud and successful while today, in just a few short years, a shocking vision of Sorosville. The Kirchners have followed the Red Brick Road and their OZ is terrible but not wise nor great.
 
Obama, like Correa, Morales, Ortega, Chavez and the Kirchners enshrine "...ballooning entitlements, class warfare, hostility toward producers, capital and private property, protectionism and subsidized central-planning..." These rule of law and democracy ending tactics "...imposed price controls, raised export taxes, increased populist subsidies, abrogated contracts, stiffed creditors, ended central-bank independence and even manipulated inflation statistics. The private sector and profits were demonized and the press was harassed."

From Breadbasket to Basket Case

As the presidential campaign drones on, Barack Obama and the Democrats are fleshing out the promise of "change" with some specific, big-government policy proposals. Many are familiar, perhaps because they already have been tried – in Argentina.

That country has gone from South American breadbasket to world-class basket case. For the long version of how it happened and why Americans might not want to try it, hop on a flight to Buenos Aires. Here's a condensed version:

Although the winding down of Argentina to the status of international deadbeat began a century ago, the latest chapter is instructive. In March, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner seized on rising soybean prices to slap "a windfall tax" on soy exports. Farmers refused to pay, the president wouldn't budge, and a deadlock ensued.

Much of the rest of the country joined sides with the growers. But the uprising is no longer a tax revolt. It has become a rebellion against unfettered executive reach – or, in the view of the opposition, Mrs. Kirchner's authoritarianism. A week ago thousands of Argentines poured into the streets of cities around the country, banging pots and pans to express their dissatisfaction with their president's heavy-handed ways. It was the largest public outcry since the economic crisis in 2001.

Mrs. Kirchner, whose approval rating is down to 20%, responded to the protests in a harshly worded speech on Tuesday. She warned that "the country cannot be governed by casserole dishes, bullhorns and roadblocks." Easy to say now. But it was saucepans in the streets that led to the collapse of the government of President Fernando de la Rua in 2001. Mrs. Kirchner didn't seem to mind that overthrow of democracy, perhaps because her Peronist husband Néstor Kirchner was subsequently elected president.

Nor did Mrs. Kirchner cry foul when her husband used "emergency powers," delegated to him by the Peronist-controlled Congress, to rule by decree for five years. There was no intervention that Mr. Kirchner considered out of bounds. It was, after all, "a crisis." He imposed price controls, raised export taxes, increased populist subsidies, abrogated contracts, stiffed creditors, ended central-bank independence and even manipulated inflation statistics. The private sector and profits were demonized and the press was harassed.

The repression worked well enough to get his wife elected in October, but now the wheels are coming off again. Mrs. Kirchner's recent verbal defense of her beloved "democracy" is hard to square with the fact that she is following in the footsteps of her husband, who had no respect for institutional checks or balances.

This gets us to the root of the problem, which developed long before the Kirchners' abuses of market and legal principles. The constitution once held limited government and private property to be among the highest ideals of the land. But in the 1920s these protections, which had made the country a magnet for immigrants and the seventh-largest economy in the world, began to erode.

An early example of this assault on liberty was when Congress imposed a rent freeze to deal with a housing shortage after World War I. This only exacerbated the problem, and in 1922 a politicized Supreme Court widened state powers to allow the regulation of rents. That decision put property-rights protection on a slippery slope. A decade later the Court gave the legislature the power to regulate interest rates.

The interventions didn't end there, and as state control of the economy expanded and the nation grew poorer, the country could not recover its footing. Economic populism and labor militancy took hold; protectionism blossomed and Argentina became a welfare state. Meanwhile, the informal economy swelled under the high cost of legality.

Fiscal crises have been recurring. According to a paper recently released by researchers at the Buenos Aires business school Eseade, external debt as a percentage of GDP has now climbed to 56% compared to 54% in 2001. If you include the unpaid debt to bondholders, the number is 67%. More than a few analysts are worried that should the economy slow, the government may tap Central Bank reserves, sparking a run against the peso or, fearing that, choose default, for the second time in a decade, as its escape hatch.

Will that mean an end to ballooning entitlements, class warfare, hostility toward producers, capital and private property, protectionism and subsidized central-planning? Unlikely.

Americans reading that laundry list may note that it sounds a lot like the mindset of the left wing that will dominate the Democratic Party's convention and choose Barack Obama as its candidate in August. From nationalized health care and government-owned refineries to punishing taxes on the rich, Argentina has been there, done that. There are good reasons to find the resemblance disturbing."

Pay attention here: the irrefutable facts about what works and what does not work for growing and sustaining nations are on the table although we are positive that the welter of Soros-backed so called interest groups, also called by David Axelrod as his own special AstroTurffed Obama propagandizing minions for political attack will make grave efforts to accept the truisms about what brought Argentina low but will deny the very recipe of their cult leader named Obama. Argentina is a dead beat nation which is a dead zone now, not just because  of "nationalized health care and government-owned refineries to punishing taxes on the rich" but because its leaders manipulated an already manipulating public....right in to disaster. The functional parallels are eerie and the analysis is apt. Michelle Obama as Cristina Kirchner is not unthinkable however appalling on the merits.
 
Follow the Red Brick Road as you chose but know what you chose and why....even as you follow the Reds right off the cliff of insanity.

And if you do not know what this is all about, then stop supporting it. As the Irish said correctly: If You Don't Know, You Must Vote No." And that is so.
