July 1, 2008   ECrisis would like you to know that the U.S. Department of State has got it all wrong AGAIN when it reports, as it just did about Ecuador, that "Ecuador's chronic instability is a major source of illegal immigration and drugs transiting to the United States." This is pure balderdash and is unbecoming the incompetence and low levels we have come to expect from these Correa-enabling idiots which started under the Adolfo Franco-Karen Harbert reign at US AID when all business was ordered to report one thing but do another. Ecuador's problems are not from instability but from corruption. Ecuador is unstable because it is corrupt.  The only cause for Ecuador's on going status as a corrupt place which is a key transit hub for illegal substances and human being trafficking is because Ecuador's governments under Lucio Gutierrez and now Rafael Correa are corrupt.
 
Pretending to be stable while still being criminal is a fools errand and will get a nation nowhere fast. In other words, instability is no excuse for drug running and narcoterror.
 
Worse yet, the government of the USA is delusional and dishonest about Ecuador when its own Report states that between $25 to $40 million of U.S. tax dollars will be spent next year in flagrant abuse of U.S. reporting laws and honest expenditures  " to strengthen their democratic institutions" in Ecuador. This is the cruelest lie of all and is unbecoming of Tom Shannon's team but does reveal their perfidy which has existed since Roger Noriega and Adolfo Franco's reign of dishonest reporting and program work between 2004-2006 across the U.S. government with regard to Ecuador. As such, the only contractors from the USA permitted to work with US tax dollars inside Ecuador are those who enable/rally around/support/promote and expand the criminal regime of the Cuban socialist-Iran allied Chavista named Rafael Correa, currently  spending tens of millions for propaganda to lie some more.
 
We say this because throwing upwards of  $40 million at Ecuador to ostensibly build democracy, as the USA in Ecuador is doing this year and did the year before, is a fools errand and deceptive. It is throwing good money down a rat hole. This wasteful spending on so called democracy builders who want no part of building democracy and will never do anything sustainable to build democracy in Ecuador is exactly like throwing millions at a dead body which has already died of cancer but proclaiming it worthy of  millions of dollars in HIV AIDS treatments. Ecuador is not now a democracy. It is a narcostate under a dictator who completed his self coup one year ago and rules with an iron fist to insert his doomed vision of the Cuban pariah statehood, with all the exigencies thereto, onto Ecuador. The only thing to be done about Ecuador, which the US government refuses to do, is to be honest about that woebegone nation. Stating the facts would be novel today even as the State Department country report on same fails itself to report the essential data there. Worse yet, not one US AID contractor reports factually about what they are doing. This is a chronic situation which has reached its nadir today.
 
While the Andean team  at the U.S. Department of State and its overpaid contract writers [ following some Hollywood movie script because they are surely not following the facts on the ground],  have not one shred of integrity to even begin to state the facts about Ecuador, we will.

Ecuador does not need the US government's additional enabling of Ecuador's current governmental crime spree nor does it need more goofy US AID contractors from the George Soros democracy-ending tribunals of disgrace, already crawling over Ecuador.

Ecuador today is a dead nation. Ecuador wants to tell you that this Fall it will vote to certify its own death sentence in state sponsored suicide writ large: its constituent assembly will farcically present its disastrous new constitution and Ecuadoreans will vote for this. Not one step of this pathway to disaster is honest, transparent, accountable and supportable although shamefully, the USA supports this criminality for reasons only understood in the minds of pro-drugs activists who care nothing for the common good. They call this "helping the poor" when nothing inside a narcostate helps the poor. Ecuador has no honest or meaningful or functional relations with the USA and does not even need an Embassy in Ecuador because Rafael Correa has driven off all reputable U.S. trade and commerce except those making money from consulting of and by the US government and those profiteering from the misery caused by human and narcotrafficking. The USA does have cocktail parties and goofy NGO confabs in Ecuador as it does in Argentina but this is no substitute for real diplomacy and is only for shallow, hollow propaganda as the nation dies. There are some tiny, irrelevant however hopeful very very small businesses who proclaim that Ecuador is wonderful. We are happy for them and hope they can continue to enjoy their businesses which today depends solely on how well any business or person pays the Rafael Correa extortion racket teams and not on free or fair trade. But no sane business is in Ecuador today- they have all departed to lands where rule of law in a democracy exists for it exists not in Ecuador under Correa. And that is a fact that the Andean team at the U.S. Department of State would do well always and everywhere to grasp. While busily seeking promotions for their good work to sustain democracy in the Andes, they forgot to be honest about the vast and dark corruption in Ecuador which today is run by Rafael Correa, Hugo Chavez's DISIP agents and Cuban spies in conspiracy with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's HEZBOLLAH operatives for a non democratic state. The Soros contractors at the OAS, the UN and US AID/US Department of State do not want you to know this and their work pretends that the reality is not real. This is what is known as essential fraud.

We do not suggest that US AID be kicked out of Ecuador but we do insist that the current contractors be removed because their assistance is crafting more ham than good for their incessant enabling of more and more narcostate constitutional demands and abnegation of the truth. PLAN ECUADOR is a farce and anyone who defends it knows well that this is a layered effort to legalize narcoterrorism in the Andes. Notable also is Correa's insistence that unless and until the honest and hard working government of Alvaro Uribe in Colombia is removed- by any means possible- that Ecuador will not restore diplomatic relations with honesty and integrity and wants nothing to do with democracy. In other words, Correa's government reveals itself as standing squarely in the position against democracy, against clean and accountable government and in support of its own narcostate. US AID's multiple players tells us that they will help Rafael Correa legalize all that should never be legalized.

US AID-Ecuador is coordinated through Senators Dodd and Leahy viz Senate money man- appropriations guru Tim Rieser. Senator Dodd wants to be the next U.S. Secretary of State under Barack Hussein Obama. Senator Dodd, like Delahunt of the U.S. House, holds no functional respect for Alvaro Uribe and as such, have poured monies in to strengthening the narcostates of Venezuela and Ecuador under the conceit- the deceit- that this money is building anti corruption and sustainable democracy when Correa and Chavez are doing all they can to destroy integrity and accountability. Dodd knows this but still applauds.

What Doddites, Sorosites and Leahy liberation theologists want for Ecuador, calling it Northern Border zone assistance for the poor, is Plan Ecuador which is to re do the FARC zone which disastrously existed by their hands in the mid 1990s and like a bad penny is promoted again inside Ecuador for the FARC to regroup under its newly minted Hezbollah flag of narcoterrorism. Ecuador's Correa and all his Soros do-drugs compadres, also called US AID contractors, want this by any means possible, including lying... a lot.

Today, Barack Hussein Obama is incapable of breaking with Dodd, Leahy, Soros and his neo communist pals at the NATION Magazine, currently co managing news input at well over 1/3 of all USA news today, notably the near bankrupt NBC TV station because most Americans cannot stomach its overt neo communist, pro Obama graft any longer and has turned off the propaganda by the millions. We do not know why General Electric sustains this false so called news except that GE is selling off its real businesses to save GE's new propaganda business and offshore derivatives trading business, as if by promoting the Soros candidate named Obama it will protect its tax free derivatives trading at all costs as long as GE insures that NBC TV sells the USA its tax free status continuation under Obama. This is why Soros backs Obama and now NBC TV-GE too. For this, NBC-GE has been quite willing to pervert its own once independent news in order to satisfy the demands that its offshore, unregulated speculative money schemes continue. In other words, NBC TV now lobbies for and sells propaganda for the betterment of its real agenda: offshore speculators which run General Electric, which is selling all product manufacturing to preserve its propaganda arm to protect its speculators in a dramatic roll of the dice that under Obama, like Clinton, all its hidden money making schemes will be protected by no law, no scrutiny and no taxation. This is not free press and this is nothing but paid propaganda to protect GE's main activity today: hidden speculation.

The government of Ecuador has joined a rag tag group of so called environmentalists and so called Indigenous who have been suing Chevron-Texaco in series after series of expansive lawsuits since 1995. Correa's team seriously believes that with the growing advances of the Soros-US Democrats, they can persuade politically the justice system of the USA to jigger legal findings, ignore the facts that there is no evidence and lobby their lying souls away.

"Two Washington heavyweights have been brought into the fight over how to pay for the repair of an environmental mess in, of all places, Ecuador.

Democratic lobbyist Ben Barnes has been hired by Kohn Swift & Graf, a Philadelphia law firm that's bankrolling a lawsuit in Ecuador to force Chevron to pay potentially billions of dollars to clean up some oil fields and their environs down there -- a controversy that's been simmering for years.

Barnes said he is hoping to raise the dispute's profile in Congress and elsewhere in Washington. He wants to put heat on the company to acknowledge the contamination and agree to fix it.

Chevron says that the suit is without merit and that the company and its predecessor in Ecuador did the required remediation long ago. It has been using McLarty Associates, headed by former Clinton White House chief of staff Thomas F. "Mack" McLarty III, to help it deal with the government of Ecuador, a spokesman for McLarty said."

Chevron, for its part, should never have been in this mess to begin with which is indicative of its systemic, internal malaise. Chevron-Texaco for the last few years had had the right string but the wrong yo-yos. That is- their legal team in Ecuador and in the USA are a pathetic lot of misguided lawyers. They have a winning case on the merits. But....does anyone seriously think that lobbying will win the day? We are thrilled that "Mack" while serving Bill Clinton finally figured out that Ecuador is in South America and not as he believed....in Africa. Truthfully, Mack and his Soros-US Democrats would do well to express their gratitude to the US Supreme Court, especially Justice Scalia et al for stating the obvious fact that no penalty in the USA shall be in excess of the crime as noted in the EXXON-Valdez case which a similar end run to extort billions from an oil company....just correctly lost on appeal.

Such precedent setting Supreme Court cases should hand Ecuador just cause to abandon its lies and fake claims to Chevron-Texaco.  For his part, Mack will be hard pressed to go up against one of his own. Ben Barnes is of course the same who sold out to promote lies about George W. Bush to help the Soros-funded arm of the John Kerry presidential bid as Barnes provided false evidence to Dan Rather which got him in to a lot of trouble for misinforming the public on CBS TV. Rather is out of a job but Barnes is still with the loony tunes of the Soros teams currently crawling all over Ecuador in unhelpful ways, supposedly to benefit Ecuador by turning it into a narcostate. Ben Barnes is a heavyweight for Soros-backed enviros, propagandists and pro Marxist actors. The POST tells us he will lobby the USA to enhance the already very expensive Correa propaganda team.

Today, BLOOMBERG's News notes regarding Correa's ally Evo Morales, "``Up to this point, the provocation has all been rhetorical,'' says Tom Shannon, assistant U.S. secretary of state for the Western Hemisphere. After June 9, ``we realized that we had a problem of confidence with this government [of Bolivia].''

This is not true. Shannon knows, as any with a brain to use and eyes to see, that Bolivia under Morales is a very dishonest and incompetent government over-run by Chavistas and Cuban intelligence operatives. But the inchoate Mr. Shannon has a complete and superb track record of enabling his own staff to show any truth teller from Latin America to the door and ending any USA momentum for any progress except with regard to what Uribe of Colombia has labored against all odds to accomplish with President Bush and US Drug Control director John Walters exacting support to over ride the flawed objections of State Department, Dodd, Soros and Leahy. Secretary Rice, Shannon's boss, who seem to believe that this is the best they can do operating under the old and very corrupt George Soros- Luigi Enaudi Plan of Making the Best the Enemy of the Good if it Helps neo Marxists in South America and in this, like Rice-State Department  is inexplicably and profoundly immoral even as like Rice is no doubt seriously attempting to be as a moral woman. Or tries hard to be. She is dearly misguided on Latin issues, relying as is the case on compromised positions.  Although US AID welcomed Evo Morales as its new darling socialist, no one on Earth should rely on their due diligence which remains flaccid, incompetent and dishonest at best. Morales is himself incompetent, dishonest and flaccid. He needs to go. But Shannon reveals the essential dishonesty of his colleagues to say such things. "WE" had a problem "of confidence" with Bolivia many years before June 9, 2008 when Evo Morales and Hugo Chavez broke the Vienna Conventions and paid their communist day workers to attack the United States in an unmanly and illegal assault on the U.S. Embassy in La Paz. Evo and Hugo, who are unmanly men like Correa, need to formally apologize, promise this will never happen again and pay for the repairs. We suggest giving Bolivia two days to do this or else canceling all ATPDEA benefits immediately. One cannot love god and mammon both, as they say. BLOOMBERG's goes on to report, " U.S. officials and Bolivian analysts say Morales is now feeding the frenzy against the U.S. as a distraction from his own political troubles: His new constitution has yet to be approved in a nationwide referendum, and he hasn't been able to stop the autonomy votes."  This is the understatement of the year. The Morales tactic to create fake instances as diversions is coordinated through the Chavez-Morales-Correa bloc of dishonest and corrupt communists working very hard to deceive. Further noted is this: "Gustavo Guzman, a journalist-turned-diplomat who serves as the Bolivian ambassador to the U.S., says he told Shannon in a meeting at the State Department on June 18 that Bolivia is committed to protecting U.S. diplomats."  No word on any verifiable points of the Bolivian "promise" to uphold the Vienna Conventions or anything else that is legitimate or honest. Meanwhile, Morales is booting US AID claiming that US AID hurts Bolivians. Nothing could be further from the truth as US AID has enabled Morales every step of the way. Morales has stupidly tried to kick out one of his biggest supporters for his cartels and foolishness. Even Rafael Correa, who hates the USA and all that is stands for, reveres US AID operatives because....they enable his criminal regime. Even Hugo Chavez -who has booted like Correa almost every American entity, knows well the value of the Marxist enabling foot soldiers from Soros-US AID and leaves their NED actors to help build his cartels by their goofy and implausible activities.

For its part, identical to Bolivia and Venezuela, Ecuador's Correa has utterly no interest in truth telling either. Then again, most Ecuadoreans today are so addicted to dishonesty and manipulative living that they do not either. Ecuador is in bed with Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and this unholy bigamy has inserted vast rackets of crime where criminality did not always exist.

Instead we ask: what is so very wrong about liberty winning the day? Rather than abandon- throw in the towel as a regional policy- what about winning?

London's new Mayor Johnson writes today in the TELEGRAPH, "We either unleash a full-hearted attack on the nannying, mollycoddling, Harriet Harperson hopelessness of our times, or else too many of our children will grow up fat, unhappy, or violent; we will never win..." Enabling more and more laziness and uselessness never leads to success and liberty loses by ennui, sloth, greed and inertia under such manipulative ethics. Unleash the full hearted attack on manipulative living and seize your future. Stop running away and making excuses. Stand up for your beliefs- if you have any left. Remind yourself what it takes to be inspired.

Can you imagine Mayor Nebot urging folks from Guayaquil to self motivate and defend liberty? Can you imagine Mayor Paco Moncayo suggesting that anyone unleash self reliance, accountability and to turn off their incessant and mind numbing TV shows? The Mayor of London just did that. He is not so unique and he is inspiring.

And if you think that Correa, Chavez and Morales are inspiring, you are reading the wrong columns here. You can unleash a full hearted and honest attack to stop the nanny state called communist Ecuador. In fact- you are called upon by all that you hold dear to do so now.
