Rule of Law is Eradicated from Correa's Ecuador

July 29, 2008  Here is the Independent Institute's LIGHTHOUSE sharing writer Carlos Alberto Montaner's latest analysis on Latin America. He also is an Advisor for the Center on Global Prosperity and President of Firmas Press. Montaner correctly ponders if president elect Lugo will move Paraguay toward Venezuela or Ireland? We remind one and all that the essential debarment to sustained stability and prosperity in any Latin American nation is that the stubborn rejection of democracy's essential- rule of law- remains missing in action and is today dead on arrival. Appeasement on this very issue has created the very thing that has crafted even more poverty as sane investors and jobs flee. Thus by promising reforms and economic growth through socialism, the lie and the fraud is spread.

Paraguay will never move toward replicating Ireland- it is not even in the cards- because Paraguayans themselves reject rule of law which is the essential ingredient for stability and economic growth. And yes of course we get it that Venezuela has tons of money but no sustained quality of life while Hugo Chavez's functionaries include men selling pencils on the street corner as "fully employed." Without rule of law, this then is the kind of economic stability Latins get: fake data and worse- far too many men selling pencils on the street corner...or worse. To be sure, in the unending effrontery that is called appeasing criminal cartels in Latin America, not one penny since 2002 has been spent on functional anticorruption rule of law reforms anywhere in Latin America. To be sure, Peru, Colombia and Chile have moved backwards in to sustainable reforms and boast rule of law reforms de facto with many gains de jure, most brought forward out of common sense to grow their global trade positions- also called jobs and economic stability- while banishing stubborn crime.

The choice is not between Ireland and Venezuela for Paraguay. The choice is between law and order and crime with its archangel of death before one's time.

How to chose wisely when all of one's entire family instructs one to chose unwisely? Montaner correctly hints at plausible pathways for Paraguay which is not so very different than Ecuador in size and population:

" How can Paraguay transform itself into a prosperous democracy? Unquestionably, by imitating all the countries that have abandoned underdevelopment: by generating a thick entrepreneurial fabric capable of creating ever-more-complex jobs that produce goods and services with greater value added. That requires education, respect for the law, adequate institutions, macroeconomic balance, political tranquility, honesty, openings, international integration, meritocracy, good public policy, market, competition, and the rest of the features and symptoms that distinguish the behavior of a successful country—Ireland, for instance—from that of a madhouse ruled by dint of shouts, like poor Venezuela."

Ecuador turned its back on the Irish model- and any other sane governance and economic model, preferring instead the disgusting death of quality of life known as the Venezuelan model of deceit, gamesmanship and utter vapidity as eschewed by the buffoonish prop agit and party apparatchik money man- their own Mr. Bags of Cash- for Cuba's miserable failed state called Hugo Chavez. Today we are aberrantly told that Ecuador cannot handle democracy, it cannot sustain rule of law and that the Irish model will never be useful in Ecuador. This is a bald faced lie spread by enablers and lazy persons. Ecuador was not so long ago more like Ireland than the Irish. All data backs this up. Ecuadoreans themselves chose the Lebanon model over the Irish model and errantly slid down the pathway to ruin subconsciously. This is not to decry the few Lebanese who are active, alive and moral citizens but as a whole, the last 40 years have shown the world what their moral model of incredulous passive-aggressive manipulative living has brought: a dead nation where morals are dead because even honor, valor and truth is preached away as useful only if manipulated for self serving ends. Ecuador was not always this way- far from it and this scourge of dishonesty engineered by manipulative ethics [which are no ethics at all] must end or be notable for taking down and killing all that Western Civilization once stood for, which is precisely what the Lebanese have done in Lebanon. The Lebanese dishonestly call this appeasement the right Christian pathway in some perverse backwards John the Baptist prophecy for evil. We call it neither Christian nor lawful. To uphold Christian values means also to uphold the highest tools for mankind which have evolved over the centuries called Western Civilization. The self absorbed Lebanese, where Lebanon today has no justice, no leadership, no functioning military or government or economy or jobs, want none of this except when they can debark on a cruise ship to nowhere or claim freedom of speech because they have choices for soap operas or shopping venues. The hollowness and vacuousness of this family value series is what has engulfed Ecuadoreans today and has led to this inert, incompetent, irresponsible, vapid and decayed state of affairs.

Handing the Lebanese manipulative moral model enjoyed by most Ecuadoreans today over to a sociopath like Rafael Correa insures disaster. Ecuadoreans today seriously warrant self motivation and educational motivations- none of which are occurring in this cult of inertia. No one is an island and no man stands alone, except unless of course one is an Ecuadorean whose entire society is pockmarked by today's insistence that each hang alone because all refuse to hang together, believing foolishly that nothing is worth believing in and nothing is worth dying for- except money and manipulative living. You are known by what you believe and what you are willing to die for.

Just as in the USA, candidate Barack Hussein Obama did not spring fully formed, he is of course known as a man who is a creature- bought and paid for- by George Soros in all key issues, especially money and paid contractors, such as most US AID contractors today in Latin America. But Obama is the face and he claims to be inspired. We do remind that George Soros himself claims that there is no God and that there are no morals which apply to him since he holds none. We believe this to be the only honest words ever spoken by Soros. Here is a take off of the take off of the creation which hangs not only in the Vatican but also Mayor Nebot's mayoral chambers, only this cartoon of Obama reflects more than we consider:

But Obama is no Adam and this cartoon blasphemously defiles the Sistine Chapel while thousands must concur with its political correctness which is also called a snapshot of reality. Obama, like Correa, is a Soros man in full and he is as one author recently described, "an athletic, young, JFK-ish metrosexual, whose rhetoric is as empty as it is soothing.” Metrosexuals, like most Soros acolytes like Obama and Correa, are rather sexless prowlers and notably live off of someone else's money while existing in a passive aggressive and politically manipulative haze, just like the politically correct hollow and empty rhetoric of Ecuadorean and Europe's rejection of its own heritage, called Western Civilization, where few ideals mean anything much at all while almost nothing they think is really worth dying for. Like Ecuador, Europe's population and reputation is in decline because this is what their voters seek. If you stand for little, you will get even less.

This freakish cartoon above could easily photoshop Correa for Obama. Add a few FARC money men, thousands of new Iraneans, plus Hugo Chavez as fallen angels of evil in the Ecuadorean background and the portrait stands complete. But Ecuador's Rafael Correa knows very well that Ecuador today is manipulative and that he can manipulate the manipulators, even Hugo Chavez and all his tainted money as well as FARC money which he has taken by the cart loads. Chavez is a cartoon character and Correa knows very well what he is doing which is far far more evil than the utterly debauched Chavez. Rafael Correa is organically and willfully crafting a criminal cartel state for him and by him in Ecuador. The sheer evil of what this man does now can be reviewed in his "new constitution"- a complete ploy, a fraud, a scam and disaster. And Ecuadoreans to date are so lazy, irresponsible, so addicted to manipulating the world around them that they have willfully converted a once vibrant nation in to a replica of their preferred fantasy land- Lebanon which is factually today a failed nation run by Iran's criminal cartel called Hezbollah just as Ecuador is being over run by Hezbollah and Iran today, contrary to what US AID's propagandists such as Cesar Montufar tell us all. We are all Cesar Montufars now: manipulative- selling Correa's fake propaganda and soothing over the criminal relationship of Ecuador and Iran and carrying all the morals of the boys in a Bath House while living off of someone else's money. It does not need to be this way at all.

Montaner asks again, "Can Mr. Lugo improve the situation in Paraguay? It depends. He might also worsen it. The former bishop has frequently stated that he favors Liberation Theology. That is very dangerous. That sociophilosophical gibberish—born of a ménage à trois between Marx, Che, and a biased interpretation of the New Testament, first circulated in the 1970s by the Peruvian priest Gustavo Gutiérrez—is to blame for the fact that a sector of the Church stained its hands with blood and irresponsibly sent hundreds of people to their death. It is no good for governing, reducing poverty or creating a more just nation. Trying to improve the problems of society with that vision of reality is like trying to cure a cancer patient by roasting him on a slow-turning spit."

Correa's Ecuadorean auto da fe, like Lugo's, is not a slow turning spit. He has always been Chavez on a MoPed- pathologically more committed to Cuban communism but with less money than Chavez and far better good looks, as the Correa team often writes to ECrisis as if this justifies absolute belief. The proposed Ecuadorean constitution is a total shift to Cuban governance of the one and for the one. And that one being Rafael Correa is a pathological liar who has spent his life trying to justify narcoterror. Just say no. Find a common and moral ground for Ecuador and get on with it.
