VOTE NO on Sunday: Defend Democracy and Refuse to Go Quietly in to the Night

September 23, 2008  As readers of ECrisis know, the globe is bubbling with goofy new constitutions which are wafty, daffy, silly specimens of neo-communism, dictatorial powers, opaque-confused language and seriously goofy intentions. Ecuador's "new" constitution is one of the worst- badly written, meandering, and yet cataclysmic in portended outcome for such a document will confer total powers on the president-dictator and end liberty such as exists today by caveat while carving Correa's preferred narcostate uber alles. VOTE NO and stay this madness and take a chance for structural reforms toward a vibrant Ecuador where God's graces are yours- life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Under the fake ploy of human rights, Correa's communist manifesto confers a whole lot of seeming human rights in the first half of the so-called constitution and then in the 2nd half, takes control over all facets of human life's real rights. This so called Correa-Chavez-Morales cartel constitution for Ecuador is the highest form of manipulative thinking we have ever stumbled upon. Its deception and trickery is stunning and should make every lying, useless, manipulative Ecuadorean Madre very proud for this is the example of what happens to their preferred thought processes- massive statist manipulations and state controlled machinations so deep and so wide that there is no way out. And then all involved in this manipulative line of non-reasoning should apologize and reject this constitutional thing which is chock full of state communism. By voting YES, Ecuadoreans approve a state criminal cartel of their own doing- a state suicide of unending crime and greed. Do not do it.

Although Ecuadoreans are so lazy that they forgot to perform any due diligence or contrast this dysfunctional so called new constitution with any sane constitutional scholars or even contrast this pathetic constitution with nations who hold constitutions that actually work and the nations actually enjoy first and second tier status, many Ecuadoreans are blessing a constitution which is not a constitution but a communist manifesto conferring total powers to the state and full Cuban style misery for the denizens of this nation who will be immersed in crime, the FARC and Iran's foot soldiers called Hezbollah, which is of course already the case.

Hiding behind grand schemes to gift the little people human rights, which existed anyway, in this so called constitution hides the core fact that all meaningful rights are snatched away however much this so called constitution hands out give aways/legalizes many things which should never be legalized- calling them human rights when essential human rights: free speech, transparent democracy, rule of law, meaningful law and order/access to justice are essentially killed under this constitution. Is it really such a grand give away to trade/bargain transgender sex operations by Correa in favor of killing open media and free speech? What are you trading for?

Here are extracts from a September 21, 2008 talk from the head of a European organization called Libertas [www.libertas.org] on the matters at hand- constitutions and democracy:

"To be empowered as an individual, one must have a voice, to have a voice one must have a vote, it is our fundamental right as ...[humans] to individually, NOT just collectively, but individually to choose our futures and our leaders...
Such a Constitution...needs to be upfront and honest in what it seeks to achieve.

I accept it must be ambitious, it must be Just…… it must be readable, it must speak to [our] hearts by showing that it regards and respects them as individuals in whatever communities, cultures, nations, or identities that they hold dear.  It must provide for democracy, accountability and transparency at the heart of ...governance.

Rule one of a new Fundamental ...Constitution, might be that if it is more than twenty five pages, then the answer is no.  Such a [constitution] must then be put to the vote in referenda ... and the people will grant or withhold their approval.  Their wishes will be final because it is from the people that all political power and legitimacy devolves.  It is an important part of the very essence of our freedom.  If the people say no it’s back to the drawing board...

The precious dignity of the individual, the rule of law, the value of hard work and sacrifice, the rejection of slavery of the body and of the mind. And, most importantly of all, the value and power of love and respect for one's fellow man.

One of many places we can look to see that respect being represented is in the democratic process, where the people are engaged in the decision making process in the most fundamental way. It is that they, the people, who are sovereign and all political power derives from them as individuals, delegated to elected representatives through the ballot box.

But the fact that this [constitutional election] failure, if continued is highly likely to result in the overall failure ... needs to be shouted from the mountaintops...

The good news is that it can be saved.

It can be saved by opening the windows and letting the light of democracy, transparency and accountability shine into every dark corner...say No to anti-democracy...

Let us take up the mantle here... and recognize that it falls to all and every single one of us, to this generation, to wake up from our slumber and say as Churchill said for European democracy when its flame was almost extinguished `We will not go quietly into the night.' "

We completely agree and hope you will rally and VOTE NO!

InfoLatAm here has a decent piece on Correa- the fire starter. Rafael Correa, the psychopath is more than just a pyromaniac: he is a criminally-enthused dictator who has covered his crimes in the glory of promoting "human rights" which, while offering the olive branch- the soothing balm of free abortions and free sex change operations and free-for-alls-for the FARC [ which he calls human rights], Correa seriously denudes all rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for happiness, to Correa does not exist in any format unless he can manipulate it. It is the Ecuadorean addiction and it needs to stop now. Just VOTE NO on Sunday and spare yourself the trouble of joining Rafael Correa in rehab for addiction problems such as chronic dishonesty, chronic gamesmanship and grand theft while living large off of someone else's money. InfoLatAm calls Correa a populist. In this they are dead wrong: he is a communist. Just read his constitution- it is a communist manifesto for idiots who are easily tricked. Here is Correa with his bedfellow:

Do not go quietly in to the night of irresponsibility and disaster. Vote yes for democracy by voting NO! on Sunday.
