Correa Has No Clue How to Lead Ecuador out of His Self-Inflicted Financial Crimes, Thefts
December 20, 2008 The president of Ecuador wants you to foolishly believe he is a USA trained economist. He is no economist and he is not great but he is a political Marxist whose real acts are not much more than state theft selling his ideas under the fake cloud of economic theory with no data, either in his highly vaulted but phony Ph.D. thesis which should never have been gifted him for its phony research ostensibly to prove why Marxism is great and capitalism kills nations [as if] nor his current application that state theft from all citizens is great as long as Correa's inner group can make money and pretend to help the poor.
Here is Bloomberg on Correa's lunacy....note he says the economy of Ecuador, which is solely in his hands, is doing great under his dictatorship but meanwhile he is about to order more price freezes and "imaginative" - aka fairy tale myths as to how to get in to more trouble. Imaginative measures are what manipulative, deceptive Ecuadoreans do to explain away why they like to live off of someone else's money while remaining stubbornly addicted to manipulating all around them and never doing anything meaningful themselves. This is the revered path to successful living in Ecuador. It is shallow and irresponsible and has gotten an entire nation in trouble. "Correa Says Ecuador Not Planning Bank Deposit Freeze…“Nobody here has said anything about decreeing a bank holiday,” said Correa, a 45-year-old economist. “The financial system is enjoying excellent health.´´ Ecuador suffered the collapse of almost two dozen banks from 1998 to 2000, a financial crisis that led it to abandon its currency, the sucre, in favor of the dollar. Correa has frequently criticized the handling of that crisis and a new constitution he championed that went into effect in October prohibits emergency deposit freezes.
During its meeting, the cabinet discussed spending cuts, financing of government spending, and ways of dealing with Ecuador’s trade deficit in manufactured goods, among other issues, the presidential statement said. Correa denied he was preparing a major austerity package. “We will take advantage of this crisis to make this country’s social and economic system more equal,” Correa said.”
What does this last sentence mean? Do you have a clue? It is a theat but not one Ecuadorean thought to ask....what does this mean?
What Correa lies about is the impact of the so called global crisis which afflicts Ecuadoreans not at all. What does afflict Ecuador is its lack of sane adult behaviors. The global price of oil is predictably lower. Ecuador, which has been flooding the global oil markets with dirty spot trades, has been lying to OPEC about its production anyway just as Chavez does. PetroEcuador is a disaster of lies, nonproduction and state graft, incompetence and unaccountability. But Ecuadoreans tell us that this is just all right with them when it is not all right. Correa tells us all that this is the fault of the global crisis. We call Correa a manipulative sociopathic liar. It is his own state theft problem and none others. Had Correa overseen a reasonable management grid for PetroEcuador, the budgets of Ecuadoreans would be doing fine today. Instead of seeing a GDB of 3 xxx what it could have been due to jacked up global oil prices, Correa mis spent, also called stole, all oil windfalls and still has no clue for you as to where the oil money went or why Ecuador is bankrupt today, begging for billions from Iran, the CAF and Chavez even though reasonable requests for billions have been turned down to Correa because he lies about his loan requests. In short, Correa has bankrupted Ecuador through theft and fraud. And you think this is all right with you. It is not all right to suffer a nation led by a manipulative adolescent who demands that total obedience to his manipulative plans be underway.
Here comes a different perspective on the perils of false reporting on Latin America:
Missing the Story -- Again by Oliver North
“…the Latin Leader Finger-in-the-Eye Stunt. They called it the "Latin American and Caribbean Summit on Integration and Development." It brought all but one of the Latin American and Caribbean heads of state to Salvador da Bahia, a Brazilian resort city, for a two-day blame-America-first confab, Dec. 16 and 17. Only Colombia's Alvaro Uribe did not attend; there were disastrous floods last weekend that made nearly a quarter-million of his countrymen homeless. The talk wasn't as pretty as the scenery, and we weren't even invited.
Ostensibly, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva called the summit as an effort to help resolve a number of simmering trade, economic and security disputes among countries of the region. But the real purpose was tipped by the fact that U.S. representatives were excluded and Cuban dictator Raul Castro was invited. On his first trip abroad as "president," Fidel's little brother was welcomed at the gathering as if he was the prodigal son.
Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez confirmed that the principal purpose of the gathering was to send an unequivocal message to the incoming Obama administration. On Tuesday, Chavez told reporters, "There is no doubt that a new historic era is beginning." Just to make sure everyone got the message, he added, "The presence of Cuba is a very strong signal that America is no longer the boss in Latin America."
That's an understatement. Over the course of the past two years, Venezuela has placed orders for more than $4 billion in arms from Russia. Moscow also has dispatched strategic bombers and nuclear-powered warships to the region for "joint exercises." Last summer, Iran agreed to build an ammunition plant outside Caracas.
That's just the tip of the iceberg of our security challenge in the region. In September, Ecuador's president, Rafael Correa, decided not to renew a U.S. lease on a crucial air base used to launch and recover counter-drug-surveillance aircraft.
Bolivian President Evo Morales has lifted all visa restrictions on Iranians traveling to his country. Last month, he expelled all U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents from Bolivia…”
And while Tom Shannon is busily telling one and all that the FARC are not terrorists and that Chavez and Correa and Brazil are not on a weapons buying binge, even with Russo-Iranian loans, the U.S. Department of State is so incompetent in handling its democracy and governance monies that they are offering a video contest to tell what democracy is, because no one at State Department considers functional democracy at all. Not unlike Latin's preferred TV show America's Funniest Home Videos with the appealing undereducated viewer market of an intellectual age range between 11 to 17 years of age, State Department wants your home video on democracy and will pay you big bucks and hand out awards for your trouble. But know this: The U.S. Department of State, mired as it is with fake field reports from US AID and its subcontractors who despise democracy, have no credible examples in their own Quarterly files of democracy builders because State Department since 1998 has chased away any truth tellers and closed itself off from any but its preferred inside mafia-style contractors who hate the USA and consider that democracy must be subverted to some bizarre political scrum called socialism which can only become manifest by lying and lie away these liars do. But hurry up- the deadline is January 31, 2009 and must be under 3 minutes and in English. Almost all of the suggested FAVORITES are shallow and childish, unsuitable for any viewing. Indeed these sophomoric descriptors of democracy brought to you by the US Department of State are embarrassingly inept and reflect the wasteland of the undereducated sound bytes. Secretary Rice should be ashamed but she will no doubt praise these inept meanderings. In the examples of democracy videos is an interesting revision on Iran's King Cyrus the Great - under the "grace" of the Ahura Mazda god [while still encouraging polytheism for even more confusion] for Greater Babylon and his proclamation to enshrine religious freedoms and bar slavery. Ahura Mazda today enjoys the same honesty of the "Global Oneness" cult currently elevating the false rise of Pachamama as well. We can only hope that Correa's team enters this State Department home video contest to tell the world about its pathetically dishonest constitution and forced state religion under Pachamama, currently blessing Ecuador's communism and criminal cartel government.
On that website you will see the video sponsors, most efforts funded by U.S. taxpayers unwittingly paying for this ineptness which looks like more money give-aways to an ailing and foolish Hollywood labor union summer camp for film makers of irrelevant content.
Like CIPE, most are front groups for US AID/US tax dollars and/or George Soros In this case, CIPE writes, "The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) strengthens democracy around the globe through private enterprise and market-oriented reform. CIPE is one of the four core institutes of the National Endowment for Democracy and a non-profit affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce."
CIPE of Peru does enjoy the job creation efforts for Hernando de Soto and is currently promoting NEW Business Opportunities in.....Paraguay! for every incompetent investor who wants to believe the Lugo-Chavez-Cuban lie sold by CIPE that Paraguay is a great place to save and invest-NEW OPPORTUNITIES! and CIPE's web page encourages more Democracy videos. And without so much as a by your leave and with the truthfulness and competence of an Obama political ad, these 3 minute descriptors of democracy will remind us how utterly stupid the U.S. Department of State has become in backing these videos with all the usefulness of America's Funniest Home Videos.
We know that Ecuadoreans pride themselves on their fabulous cottage industry of video making. Now is your chance: enter now! Tell the world what democracy really is. That is....if you have a clue what it is. This video rewards program should appeal to Ecuadoreans who never handle anything more serious than a 3 minute sound byte anyway, claiming it is all too complicated for their extensive mental capacity. For our part, we suggest that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce review its real time investments as propagandized by John Murphy and Karen Harbert for functional realities regarding OPPORTUNITIES NOW! in Paraguay. There is no reason to lead investors down a path of lies just because State Department wants investors to believe their lies and be misled as Paraguay is now a Marxist loony land under Chavez-Lugo which while praised by US AID for its Hezbollah- backed corruption now is not a decent place for investors. Oh dear, we forgot- Tom Shannon according to Oliver North just told us there are no jihadists or terror groups operating in Latin America, not in the Tri Border area, nor the FARC-Shinning Path narcoterror events currently sheltered by Morales, Correa and Chavez nor the drugs transit operations from Northern Brazil. No indeed: US AID wants you to INVEST NOW! in the Tri-Border area and they will lie to you about these great lawless business opportunities.
But as every US Department of State idiot wants to tell you, they know that they will be happily taking US money for no work under the Soros-Obama team, gifting U.S. diplomacy with Something for Nothing:

Jimmy Carter: Poll Watcher
By INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Friday, December 19, 2008 4:20 PM PT
“Mideast: Our worst ex-president and confidant of thugs and terrorists everywhere will monitor upcoming Lebanese elections, part of Hezbollah's ongoing attempt to swallow Beirut whole. Is he going as a monitor or a cheerleader for terror? …Carter has never met a thug or terrorist he didn't like…. As an election monitor, Carter has been found wanting. Sent to observe a rigged referendum on whether Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez should be recalled in 2004, Carter let Venezuelan officials pick out the boxes he could count to validate the election. Then he certified it, ending democracy and creating a human-rights nightmare and another threat to the U.S.
Carter has hardly made the world safe for democracy, and his offering to monitor another election in which democracy is at stake does not reassure us.”
In accomplishing the overpaid counter-democracy, also called lying a lot about Correa's communism in Ecuador, you can read the Carter Center nonsense on the 9-08 so called elections at the Carter Center website. Warning: You will need lots of PeptoBismol.
The stunning omission of facts shamelessly demands an apology and retraction. But the Carter Center team, with its permanent Quito offices now, wants you to know that they are ready for the April 2009 elections [ready to lie some more!] which, following their work pattern as seen in the 2004 Caracas recall referendum, will of course fail to report on the fraudulent abuse of state monies by Correa to buy elections, such as he used FARC and Chavez monies to buy his first electoral win. You can also read the silliness found inside the Carter Center web site about their reprehensible work in Quito.
The Carter team is the same as it was in Caracas and is headed by an ardent Allende socialist who seriously believes, with his patron saint Ambassador Hodges that Correa's Marxist-Cuban plan to develop the Soros-backed FARC in Ecuador, claiming falsely that this helps the poor, is the best path to Ecuador's communist cartel future as long as no one actually reports on their nasty little political scam. Maybe the Carter Center will tell us in video about their democracy building in the Andes. Which is not democracy building at all but an abuse of democracy building and monitoring money to sell false analyses about Correa's drug running and non democracy. Ecuadoreans can object to this unhelpful Carter Center communist support foolishness by writing to any U.S. member of Congress. You might get a reply but you will not get anything but the cold wind of the garbage can if you write to Dan Fisk or Tom Shannon of the Bush team or anyone at all under Hillary Clinton-Obama for they will never ever dare to go up against Soros and the Carter Center but you can.
Jimmy Carter should stick to helping what bothers the FARC the most: flesh eating jungle worms. That is of course along with criminality, communism and diseases that terrorists never suffer- flesh eating jungle worms. But the Quito based Carter office should be shuttered. The USA has no valid excuse for paying a non American to sell non democracy under contracts that deliver nothing but propaganda for the Correa-Chavez-Russo-Iranian cartels.
But Ecuadoreans are so addicted to state hand outs to save them from themselves that they refuse to see the ruinous road ahead under Correa. Ecuadoreans so very much demand, like little children, something for nothing that they have long ago sold their souls not just for the Keynesian economic model of state semi socialism but have adopted whole cloth, with no due diligence, the disgusting Castro Cuban plan where life is cheap and prostitution is about the only reason anyone goes to communist Cuba any more. A far better example for restorative economic planning is the Thatcher plan applied in the United Kingdom in the early 1980's which turned the UK from a dysfunctional basket case to a functioning basket of opportunities as noted recently in the WALL STREET JOURNAL: "by sticking to her policies of lightened regulation, reduced trade barriers, privatization of a raft of publicly owned companies, reduced taxation, and the adoption of laws to prevent abuses of union power, Mrs. Thatcher achieved something few if any of today's economists have begun to consider. She achieved a genuine, productivity-led recovery that transformed Britain from perennial basket case into the Europe's most improved and vibrant economy."
While Ecuadoreans are watching their very futures be shuttered and closed, it is vitally important that each stand up and rebuild Ecuador- not in the image of the reprehensible Cuban communism nor in the ridiculously wild eyed crazy Correa model which was never designed by "an American trained economist" but a loony leftist who scammed the U.S. educational hand out system for a cheap shopping mall degree whose purpose was to justify why Marxism is great and capitalism and trade is evil but rather focus on a future with financial functions that work for all. Your future is too important to be left in the hands of liars and ninnyhammers whose only creativity is to recycle the disastrous Cuban plan for more state childhood prostitution. That is not a recovery plan. It did not work for Haiti and does not work for Cuba. Or as Margaret Thatcher herself said,
"Economics is too important just to be left to the economists."
