Dishonest Correa's Socialism-Communism is Killing Ecuador
February 9, 2009 We came upon a superb piece by James Lewis on the current plan to extract more greed for the ruling cartels through absolute power:
"Socialism is rapaciously greedy -- that's what endless envy warfare comes down to. The Left likes to preen itself with the word ‘progressive,' when it is actually the most regressive political strategy in history. The key political move is to seek out the most rapacious people -- not hungry for food but power -- and use them to mobilize an attack on the productive sector, the milk cows of society." We at ECrisis hope you will study this opinion piece and draw your own parallels.
In Ecuador, president Rafael Correa, who despises free enterprise and loathes the very thing that fuels Ecuador's sustainable development, has systematically acted to rob, steal, lie and cheat his way forward by destroying a once vibrant and functioning commercial structure for Ecuador. What is it about the ethos of manipulation and its progeny called greed that acts to kill off competition and sane jobs in this economy?
This author notes of the increasingly whiney and dysfunctional Europe that, "They have become dependent and hostile, like a drug-addicted teenager..." While we agree that this is generally correct, it is absolutely a correct analysis of Ecuadoreans today who are completely immersed in their petty, shallow and vapid self serving cycle of endlessly demanding protection and dependent behaviors by refusing to grow up and do one valid step toward not only having and holding a real job or serving any Ecuadorean community large or small but also refuse to be responsible, honest adults.
Dependant, hostile- acting like drug addicted teen agers is precisely the correct description of Correa's Ecuador, brought to you precisely from the utter loss of honorable ethics inside each and every home, school and workplace and magnified by the Correa cartel. This is what you as Ecuadoreans look like and is what you get because of your own ridiculous socio-economic plays. And now you continue o defend Correa's criminal cartel because you alone created this morass of dependencias and mental manipulations to justify your personal loss of liberty which you presumed you could manipulate but find that it cannot be manipulated. Like the most important features of human life, liberty cannot be manipulated even though every single Ecuadorean MaMa will tell you that liberty can be manipulated and that this must be your task to so do. We disagree. Liberty is a gift from God- not meted out by Iranian Sharia law nor handed to us by Correa's constitution which essentially kills liberty. Of course Ecuadoreans seek state controls over all liberty so that none are compelled to defend liberty since it no longer exists. Living la vida manipulative kills freedom, kills honor, kills trust and kills integrity. You may romance and revere this disingenuous laziness but you will never thrive under this socio economic break with ethical behaviors. Ecuadoreans today are dependent and hostile, like a drug-addicted teen ager.
Take a look at Correa every time he goes before the public, as he did on Saturday. Correa is hostile, like a drug addicted teen ager. As he has done all of his life, he rants, he raves, he lies, he manipulates and he stamps his little feet and waves his little fists in the air and Ecuadoreans call this adult behavior- normative because it is precisely how their own families and schools are organized: by manipulative petty fools who need a hefty dose of adult leadership, now banished or relegated to the outer limits by the insane addictions to enabling the dependent manipulative dishonesty that is Ecuador today. You can do better.
As everyone knows, today Ecuador is broke, thanks to Correa's opaque theft of state funds and his misguided childish scam of installing a Cuban paradise for idiots who neither work nor act responsibly inside Ecuador. Today's Wall Street Journal features the Minister of Finance, Sr. Solbes from Spain on his nation's response to economic downturns: "Now it is time to give a boost to structural reforms and, in particular, to reducing administrative burdens, further liberalizing key product markets and improving the functioning of the labor market. These structural measures, together with effective fiscal stimuli, low interest rates and increased financial stability, will underpin the recovery." Noticeably missing in the real world of adults is the adolescent Ecuadorean hymn of praise for shallow escape artistry to pretend that Cuban communism will save Ecuador instead of adult leadership to redirect structural reforms- long needed in Quito- and liberalize markets plus improve labor functions. None of these sustainable building tools are on the map for Correa's childish team of run away and hide scam artists but they should be. Instead of building confidence, Correa has destroyed confidence in Ecuador.
ECrisis has long suggested that Ecuador cease its veneration of childish manipulators. In stead of the 10 year old practice of slamming the door in the face of truth tellers from Ecuador, it is time to slam the door in the face of dishonest manipulators who do not deserve appeasement from the United States nor enabling by the US AID family of crime enablers, still beavering away to bless this criminal mess in Quito called the Correa team of cartel profligates. It has gotten Ecuador in to a ruinous state which is not appealing and not sustainable. It is time to grow up.
Pay attention to the criminal steps Correa just took to disband the small efforts of the last remaining vestige of Ecuador's definable stance against terrorists. Correa disbanded the elite policing section which at least tried to perform with some credibility in the face of rampant crime engineered to benefit Correa and his Iranian-FARC pay masters. For their trouble, Correa disbanded law and order and relegated these invaluable anti-crime teams to the back waters on the hustings. Although Correa could not quite be honest about his intentions to destroy what little law and order remains in Ecuador, he has killed law and order by forcing anyone with an education or training to be hidden away and unmanned, rendered sexless and untooled so as to aid and abet criminal enterprises.
