March 9, 2009   We lead off today with a stunning fact- long ago forgotten in Quito, "Civic virtue is inexorably linked to individual initiative and individual responsibility. Civic virtue means that we are responsible for our actions and their consequences."  What civic virtue you may ask? Most Ecuadoreans have nothing to show for any virtues because they have done nothing for years to build any civic support for anything outside their own selfishness. This has created a society already broken- it broke its own bonds of fellowship with its common neighbors and from there, it has been down hill ever since. Not so very long ago, trade among nations was known as a worthy goal. Today the pro-socialist labor unions use this as a tool to hammer at job sustaining behaviors and give rise to their silly notion that labor unions alone gift societies with healthy employment packages, when nothing could be further from the truth. Joining a union should be a choice- a right and unions should be competitive in every way. But labor unions in 2nd and 3rd rate countries are overbearing boors who defend their vision of evil company ownership. This is silly and it is a lie in most cases. As we all know, in Colombia, the FARC for too long have hidden behind their labor union protections, using fake memberships [and sometimes real ones] to hide their criminal acts.

Colombia Trade Unionist Found In FARC Camp (Reuters) #

Big Labor sobs big crocodile tears over their trade union brethren over in Colombia, whom they say are 'targeted for assassination.' Now, that's not the real story here, the real story is that trade unions in Colombia are penetrated by Marxist narcoterrorists, chiefly from FARC, and the biggest among them was Raul Reyes himself, the FARC chieftain rubbed out last year over in Ecuador. He was, by trade, a trade unionist. But don't dare tell that truth to anyone in US Congress, because to them, Colombian unionists are innocent little daisies just standing there minding their own business when the Colombian government came over to kill them. In reality, as this buried story shows (scroll down to the 'Unionist' header at the bottom of the story), the trade unionists shot first. Pro-FARC, anti-Colombia-free-trade Reuters tried to bury this story, by the way.
 
Here is the story and still yet none have answered what the labor unions and FARC are doing acting together and why the forces for good are obliged to gift the FARC with protection so that it can regroup under the fake guise of unionizing, complete with police escorts and full protection:

Despite their defeats, the guerrillas remain a powerful force in some rural areas. The army said four soldiers were killed on Monday in an attack by FARC fighters in a mountainous part of the Cauca region, a key drug trafficking route.

During last week's combat in Cundinamarca, troops also detained a trade union leader in the rebel camp, the government said on Monday, demanding an explanation from the country's CUT labor federation.

"The trade union movement needs to come out, for the good of the trade union movement ... and clarify the CUT's position in relation to this situation," Social Protection Minister Diego Palacio said. "What was this man doing there?"

He said the arrested union leader had been assigned personal bodyguards and an armored car as part of a government protection program for unionists -- frequent targets in Colombia's four-decade-old armed conflict.

The incident comes as conservative President Alvaro Uribe seeks to revive a U.S. free-trade deal that was blocked by U.S. Democrats because of concern over violence against union leaders in the South American country.

Ecuadorian president meets with OAS secretary general over ties with Colombia

Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa met with visiting Organization of American States (OAS) Secretary General Jose Miguel Insulza on Thursday to discuss its ties with Colombia.

Insulza's visit to Ecuador is aimed at "continuing the diplomacy between Ecuador and Colombia," Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Fander Falconi said.

On March 1, 2008, Colombian military forces bombed a camp of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) located in the Ecuadorian zone of Angostura, without notifying Ecuador of the operation.

A diplomatic stand-off quickly ensued, with Quito expelling Bogota's ambassador two days later, and both sides ordering thousands of troops to their common border.

Falconi said on Friday that he would accompany Insulza to the northern Ecuadorian border in the province of Esmeraldas "to show him what is happening, which is a dire situation in terms of human displacement."

According to Falconi, the situation along the border with Colombia is "fearful", not only because of the displacement of Colombians to Ecuador, but also the internal displacement of Ecuadorians, which is an even worse situation.

Falconi said among the "minimum requirements the Ecuadorian government has made" to restore ties with Colombia are the "effective repair of all the damages they produced" with the "indiscriminate attack."

Ecuador also requests "an effective recognition of the humanitarian effort it is doing in its north border area" for refugees and the displaced and demands an "effective presence" of Colombian armed forces to police their side of the border and to "stop involving Ecuadorian authorities with members of the FARC" in any irregular situation along the border, Falconi said.

For all the awareness that socialism and communism ruin whole societies and fail to benefit anyone except its own criminal cartels, sometimes called a politburo, Ecuadoreans seem to happily and selectively forget that their enthusiasm for being lazy and arrogant has now cost them any respect by anyone. Ecuadoreans look like lemmings- brain dead robots now jumping off a cliff, along with the USA Democrats who have morphed in to their own Obama-led version of communism:

Applying the identical socio-economic conversion plan to more and more freedom-ending clamp downs to enrich the few and destroy the hearts and minds of the many, comes the reprehensible, mind numbing scam that just because too too many banks and governments and cartels speculated  in offshore derivatives and hedging bets and thus sucked global capital out of play, that we all must now be Cuban or Russian styled idiots. These poor souls live on hand outs from the central state government. Ecuadoreans actually want this. In the USA, many citizens do not want this, actually about half. In Europe, they already have about 3/4 of their lives run by the central state. None of this helps anyone today or tomorrow except to grow more and more state dependency.

More to the point, weakened and one dimensional societies of lemmings as we have in Ecuador are ripe- just ready- for more and more state-backed crime as is the case under Correa and his criminal cartel cabinet who are currently flooding Ecuador with more and more dirty FARC monies, FARC actors and their soul mates in crime from the dark places of the Muslim-based treachery. We say treachery knowing well that no one from the Muslim world has any business being in Quito except to expand crime. And we say this knowing full well that no criminal is gifted with any free pass to act criminally just because they are "religious" or wear their state-backed religiosity in their daily presence.

Venezuelans and Ecuadoreans debase themselves and hurt their families every day now by pretending that it is some global crime committed against Quitenos by evil empire masters of the universe that has put down any growth prospects for Ecuador. This stupidity is followed by the lie that because Ecuador is broken now and this was caused by evil outsiders that Ecuador needs more money from anyone, especially the terror state called Iran, with whom Correa is in bed. Jumping in to bed with Iran and its many many non state actors of evil has created a moral  polygamy which Ecuadoreans adore because it removes any adult responsibility for its primary problem that its primary marriage is failed and is dishonest. From this comes more excuses and more manipulative activities such as the very dishonest drug king pin Correa perpetrates. First deal with the primary marriage of dysfunctional enabling of more dysfunction and end all manipulative living or know that all of life will expand and radiate from that dishonesty. If Ecuadoreans want an honest and functioning government, start with the basics of truth telling or else know that your daily acts will fulfill the end of your days by your hand.

We note that dishonesty begets more dishonesty. Nowhere do we see this more than the Muslim take over of Western Civilization, demeaning its very tenants while pressing hard for dishonestly telling us that they are peaceful and honest when they are not. There do exist honorable Muslims. But as yet their honesty is foreshadowed by the massive numbers of Muslims who daily practice hatred- hatred against all that Western civilization knows. And you are helping this take over daily:

ECrisis reminds that every time free speech is barred and every time you voluntarily self censor because you are afraid to be honest, you create harm: harm to the common good. For its part, if Islam wants to be a religion of peace, then it should begin with each member of Islam and stop preaching hatred, an insidious mobilizer of mankind for evil. How you practice daily virtues and what you do and what you say....or not....makes a difference in this place and in this time. Because 2/3 of mankind today is guilty of irresponsible childishness in living one dimensional lives of state dependency, also called gifting Correa with full powers over your non productive life, we again say: grow up. Live a vibrant and well informed life with civic virtue and self respect first. Then look in your children's eyes and tell them honestly that you did all that you could. You will not find this Handbook for Patriots at Quito Tennis- not at all. You will find there a rule book- a sloppy, self enabling manipulative non ethics series of non-mores for enabling the destruction of all that your ancestors stood for. What are your virtues today?
