Insulza of the OAS Depends on Chavez-Correa-FARC-LuLa to Keep His Day Job

May 12, 2009   ECrisis does not approve of Jose Miguel Insulza's pitiful job as head of the OAS. He is a low level functionary and a cheesey one at that. He needs to go. Insulza apparently has been pushing to usher back the Castro brothers murderous regime in to the OAS. We suspect that Ms. O'Grady's new article struck a nerve: no sooner did this story yesterday reveal the end run to legitimize the illigitimate Cuba than Castro's rapporteurs stated that Fidel did not want to go back to the OAS anyway, when we all know that he does.

The JOURNAL piece struck a nerve also because it is credible and factual- all things that Castro and Insulza cannot manipulate. Of Venezuela's Chavez, this article states,"...he would slowly strip the population of civil and economic rights and use his oil wealth to spread Bolivarian revolution to neighboring states." Sound familiar yet?

Cuba Doesn't Belong in a Democratic Club

Castro's apologists make a move at the OAS...

The Organization of American States claims to be "the region's principal multilateral forum for strengthening democracy, promoting human rights, and confronting shared problems such as poverty, terrorism, illegal drugs and corruption."

Now OAS Secretary-General José Miguel Insulza wants the group to be able to add a new goal to the list: legitimizing the Cuban military dictatorship by making it a member.” Read it here.

ECrisis notes that revising history and undoing hard won progress is never a good idea. Canceling the Democracy Charter of the OAS or altering its language in to a silliness of non-definable usefulness is not a good idea. For our part, we are not even sure that Obama  has a full time formal US ambassador to the OAS so please do not tell us that assurances are fully with all formal relations. Revisionist history is not a good idea either. Noted in current news stories is a tragic new growth of the Shining Path in Peru, often affiliated with Ollanta Humala, recently noted in Peruvian media as enjoying his wife's monthly illegal pay-off checks from Hugo Chavez. Here is a reprint of an older piece from an American blog referencing Peru. ECrisis wishes Peru godspeed in stopping their drug cartels in all forms:

Hope in Peru

Page Printed from: Wishful thinking however does not really get the job done very often. The old movie classic, The Wizard of Oz featured a wicked witch wanting control of the little girl, Dorothy. The witch ominously flew the skies and laid out her words demanding surrender. In all that Hugo Chavez and Rafael Correa do today, they demand an end to capitalism, essential free trade and freedoms. Indeed each component affects the other. Capitalism- not communism and not fascist-socialism helps nations grow as a system. None of the principles of Western Civilization should be surrendered- ever. We find Insulza as badly informed as ever: Latins know that tyranny and self-styled Cuban communism is indeed back on the menu. Insulza is wrong and he needs to go.
