Ecuador Has No Rule of Law and Is Going Out of Business
July 27, 2009 ECrisis has long pondered the Obama Administration's dishonest support for Rafael Correa, replayed in its pathetic support with money and materiel to build the Chavez domain in Honduras through the U.S. Department of State's black money currently abused illegally to assist in the growth of ALBA-FARC cartels.
We cannot tell if the Obama team is just overwhelmed with its dishonest paid contractors and their fake reporting about the glories of "helping the poor" through fascist dictators, which they dishonestly call democracy and rule of law building, or if it is more of....what did they call it-? ‘throwing in the towel’ on all Latino matters.
Whatever the disconnect with stewardship and integrity, we say: no mas. This has all gone too far and it is time for the Obama team to pull down their pants and show what they are made of. Frankly, we are frightened by what we will see- overspending on neo Marxist supports and a craven, criminal aversion to opacity and open media, as required by the U.S. in its laws and norms.
But the real prize for criminality belongs squarely with despot Ecuadorean Rafael Correa who never ever met a truth he did not miscarry or abort.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Ecuadorean president Correa is a public sociopathic manipulator and that his followers enable his manipulative governance. No -really....here is what the JOURNAL states," Mr. Obama called Ecuador’s Rafael Correa in early June to `congratulate' him on his recent re-election, and according to a White House spokesman, `express his desire to deepen our bilateral relationship and to maintain an ongoing dialogue that can ensure a productive relationship based on mutual respect.' This made Mr. Obama look uninformed again since Mr. Correa’s disrespect for U.S. interests is legendary."
Mr. Obama should have checked first with score keepers of U.S. trade for what Correa is doing to U.S. exporters trying to export in to Ecuador [not that Obama cares] and with how many billions have been stolen from U.S. companies [or desired to steal from or underway] by Correa. He could have also checked the U.S. DEA data on Ecuador's huge human trafficking/white slavery and drugs and weapons running business. Obama could have checked with Wall Street as to how many bond deals Correa has snookered, jiggered and manipulated. Obama, who claims to be such a great constitutional scholar, even though he clearly never practices any skill at same, never once read nor requested factual reviews of the 9-08 Ecuadorean constitution that denies all international norms and laws and installs all that should never be legitimized. Obama could have done ....fact based due diligence. But no....he is surrounded by a White House and State Department composed of liars, ninnyhammers, dimwits and dunces whose own paid role is quite real to insure that their non-facts stay in front of Obama's nose even as his suit is as empty as his brain obviously is.
Then again, Correa’s supporters are dumber yet....they know very well that Correa is a cartel cult leader. One and all know that their lives are much worse off under Correa and that the entire nation seriously believes that they can manipulate their way out of the hell that Correa has made. In this, they need to check how well that plan is going for Cubans....and the answer is: not well at all. Cubans live marginal lives in an island gulag. Problem is... Ecuadoreans do now replicate Cubans and are too dishonest to admit this or do anything about it.
The JOURNAL notes that Correa is so dishonest that instead of coming clean about his FARC funding, he threatens like a little teen ager to sue the JOURNAL.
Screeching like a chicken, throwing temper tantrums, manipulating reality....all hallmarks of an addict to manipulative living....and all of Ecuador enables him because today all are co-addicts. this is sick. And this needs to stop. Did one person- anyone-? defend Mary O'Grady from Correa's public attacks? Did anyone- someone-? defend the inherent value of open media? Anyone? No- we did not think so. Too busy....manipulating their own homes to care about manipulating their rights...down the toilet, which is of course all of one piece.
And still Rafael Correa pretends that the FARC will gift him with a fake blessing... when they are one and the same now:
Ecuador president asks rebels to confirm donation
So here we have Ecuador's president in another childish trick to manipulate the FARC in to hiding their money to him. As if. More to the point if you do not believe that Correa is in bed with the FARC: read his pro FARC sheltering and legitimizing constitution. Study what FARC officials have been gifted sanctuary inside Ecuador [ all of them] and review real data as to how many FARC actors sit in Ecuador's jails....that is zero. And then tell us that Correa is a strong anti-narcotics actor because he is not. He is a liar and he defends his money laundering and drug running practices as his father and mother did before him by saying that he just needs the money. Get out the hand cuffs and deport him for trial to the USA.
Here are two pieces on this: Los Montesinos de Chavez and Los 'rockets' venezolanos
Today the Latin American Herald Tribune reports: "Chávez has insisted over the past few days that the United States is trying to turn Venezuela’s neighbor Colombia into the “Israel of Latin America” and said it was “regrettable” that the Bogota government “lent itself” to that purpose.
The Venezuelan leader is concerned about a likely accord between Washington and Bogota that would allow the permanent stationing of U.S. military personnel at four Colombian military bases. The scheme of aggression described by Chávez also included Israel’s complaints that Venezuela is sheltering “terrorists, as they (the Israelis) call Hezbollah,” and Washington reports that “Chávez supports drug trafficking and terrorism.”
We at ECrisis ask: what is wrong with Israel that has Chavez so upset? The answer: nothing. Israel is standing up proudly and telling the truth....a feature that angers drug king pin Chavez greatly for he wants no one reviewing the facts about his tawdry and illegal so called government which is a cartel covered by an extortion ring. We predict that soon enough, Rafael Correa will parrot Chavez's empty rhetoric. The game is up for these losers called ALBA. The only stunning thing left is to wake up the Obama administration and the local people of Ecuador who still believe that they can manipulate their way to a happy life. Or.... as we keep getting asked by Ecuadoreans: When will the USA finally do something about Correa? To which we always answer: when will Ecuadoreans deliver a fact based review of Correa and his crimes? Of course that would require a new set of wheels and someone- anyone- to stand up and tell the truth. As of right now, this is weak, tepid, lazy and pathetic. If Ecuador wants its country back, follow Honduras. Follow truth tellers. Follow your conscience.
Latin Americans take their own fake democracies which Correa calls alternative democracies because each takes fake or alternative or manipulative standards anyway. Or as Mary Anastasia O'Grady correctly asks today in the JOURNAL, what will Correa do now-? Sue all the media in the entire world? Ecuadoreans tell us that no one cares anything about Honduras- nothing. While this may be so....too busy partying....we remind that Correa wasted a lot of Ecuadorean money on his jet flights in to Honduran air space, loaded with Ecuadorean journalists and loaded with illegal weapons and medical teams....to stage an illegal paramilitary into Honduras. That was July 5, 2009. Insulza of the OAS, the Kirchners, Chavez and Zelaya all knew what Ecuadoreans were doing and paying for..coordinated out of the residence of Ecuador's plenipotentiary Gallegos, who himself is a Chavista and an ardent liar. You can ask how much was spent that fine Sunday as Ecuadoreans broke all bonds of international law and with malice set out to craft an illicit insurrection against Honduras.
While Manuel Zelaya today is reduced to a cartoon characterization of his ALBA-Chavez bona fides- nothing more than a talking cowboy hat- his days are over. He has no power and no kingdom- except to ALBA. He belongs in jail. So too does Rafael Correa.
Besides being an active drug king pin, Rafael Correa threatens to sue The Wall Street Journal. And Obama calls him up and congratulates him.
Did Obama once- just once- ever get his facts right about Correa of Ecuador-? No he did not and he did not even try. He is too busy helping his pals destroy an American company called Chevron Texaco, having waltzed over $5 billion in fraud against OCCIDENTAL and numerous smaller companies. Besides, Correa's three elections are chock full of fraud. He cannot even get his elections clean. And Obama commends this criminal? Then again, Obama called Zelaya- and still does- the rightful president of Honduras. As far as taking analysis from Washington's Barrack Hussein Obama, of late from Hawaii and Chicago, we refuse to listen to his analyses because he has yet to get his facts right or even on the table. What Mrs. Clinton will do is most likely more of the same.
Besides, she must be so happy that one of her own- Lanny Davis and Micheletti's own U.S. Democratic Party advisor ran a story also in the WALL STREET JOURNAL today implausibly praising Mrs. Clinton for her wisdom when indeed she is-with Obama and Dan Restreppo- responsible for many of their internal and external problems. Along with Insulza of the OAS and Obama- not to mention Hugo Chavez and Rafael Correa, Mrs. Clinton deserves to be fired for mangling for almost a month the entire Honduran matter, actually causing Hondurans to lose lots of money, and desperately trying to hide how much she and her minions of duplicity- called State Department contractors and liars, spent to actually build more ALBA communism in Latin America, noticeably active in Zelaya's Tegucigalpa and now moving on to Asunción, Paraguay ....having debilitated Honduras over the last five months. We are thrilled however that Mrs. Clinton now seems to agree with one and all that Zelaya needs to go- far away and retire...perhaps in Cuba? However, the Micheletti piece is absolutely correct to remind that Zelaya is not their president, he is a criminal and that unlike Ecuador, the government of Honduras remains yet with three branches of government- the administrative, their congress and their judiciary. That is entirely much much more than can be said about Ecuador where Correa controls his kangaroo legislature [which is really his politburo], if one can call it that, controls the media, controls all the judiciary and the entire administrative offices and freely admits this, if anyone is listening to this little petite criminal dictator.
Micheletti's piece correctly states that Honduras has and holds rule of law. He says this with justifiable pride. Even Hondurans today speak of rule of law and its meaning where recent history shows scant few rarely thought about it. He says that because to global audiences this means....Honduras is open for business.
While Ecuadoreans tell us that rule of law and integrity does not matter at all and no one cares, Ecuador has no rule of law and is in fact.... going out of business and will stay in business only with criminals unless and until Ecuadoreans care... that they have lost everything because....they had no honesty and no rule of law. Ecuador is not a democracy- it is a cartel state of ALBA, for ALBA and going nowhere fast because no one chooses to speak the truth about Ecuador and take the necessary steps to clean up this mess. For its part, Obama and his team need to start being honest about Ecuador's role in building the FARC and co-managing ALBA crimes. Unless and until the Obama team starts being honest, they are not being honest. And that....makes a huge difference and does hurt U.S. businesses and will hurt Obama's record badly as his credibility self-destructs.
And just who we ponder, will Rafael Correa hire to sue O'Grady and the Wall Street Journal ? Will he hire Castro's old lawyer, Greg Craig of Williams & Connolly-? Oooops- this Castro man is already Obama's chief White House legal counsel. Will he hire Ortega and Aristide's lawyer-? oooops- he already has done so. Will he hire Obama's pal, currently deserving to have his law license revoked for all eternity for his unlawful work as a "lawyer" in the CHevron case? Oooops- they are already working together with Correa. So....who will Correa hire to attack the most prestigious newspaper? Or will Correa apologize and rescind his threats? Will Obama make a recommendation to Correa? Perhaps Obama and Mrs. Obama's's old law firm in Chicago. Oooops- they have been busy also: when not writing Obama's so called autobiographies, Bill Ayers already has helped craft the horrifying communist manifestos called ALBA constitutions. With friends like these in high places, truth tellers know them for what they are....and are not afraid.
