Freak Show in Quito
August 12, 2009 ECrisis notes that although several local folks turned out for Rafael Correa's inaugural, the heavily-funded event was essentially a badly attended....freak show, like paying to watch the overly hirsute or deformed at a bad circus maximus. But when Correa spoke, there was only one conclusion to make: freaks. The ALBA cartel is chock full of nuts, loonies, communists...freaks. Two days later...much of what Correa said and did is largely forgotten because he disgraced himself, Ecuador and is busily ruining all chances for a decent tomorrow. Correa is a freakish parasite. Any who stood rejoicing his fake democracy, fake economy, fake banking and fake anti FARC positions is...a freak, too.
As for Rafael Correa and Hugo Chavez's latest round of ignorance revealing foolishness, along with Brazil's LuLa, their vapid claims that Uribe of Colombia is in some evil pact with the USA as they demand that Uribe reveal his nascent anti FARC plans, we remind these masters of the universe that they have hugely overpaid embassies and paid lobbyists in Washington plus the same tools that all of the world holds- the internet. The US-Colombian legislation, unlike Correa and Chavez’s so called government, is on the net for all to see and review, down to the last dime. This is called transparency. It is past time that Morales, Correa and Chavez do what all adults do: read. Ooops- that is asking too much. But while these so called presidents are pretending that everyone else is as irresponsible and functionally illiterate as they are, we suggest they easily review what the US-Colombian counter FARC activities are. To be sure, Correa, Chavez and Morales, even if they do study the actual language, will find something else to scream about. That is because they dominate by screaming and depend on populations to be stupid and easily convinced of their correctness, which is not correct at all.
Over fifteen years ago, author P.J. O'Rourke wrote of fooling a lot of people a lot of the time:

Disguised as populists, they championed the definitely privileged and supposedly enlightened few....There is something more horrible than hoodlums, churls and vipers and this is knaves with moral justification for their cause. The Kennedy's thought the world would be a better place for having them run it."
This author- gasp!- states that the Kennedy family were vipers- snakes who claimed to "help the poor" through "Populism" - aka statism/communism of sorts but really acted to manipulate mankind. To many this claim is sacrilege.
Correa of Ecuador is now creating committees to defend his marxist revolution, like in Cuba.
On Honduras, ABC form Spain reports that three of Zelaya's top thugs are under INTERPOL pick up orders. We can only ask: why stop there?
Meanwhile, Manny Zelaya is winging off to taste Chile's bounties. When will he just go away? The answer is of course precisely when Chavez and Correa pull his plug.
