In Which We Compliment Ecuadoreans

November 27, 2009 We at ECrisis apologize for not gifting the people of Ecuador with heaps of praise for their vapid and utterly aberrant citizenship over the last four years. We cannot help ourselves. We try to report what we see and what we know. And we know too well that when we say, “all Ecuadoreans now are manipulative” we say this in the sweeping generalization because most are and have been dishonest with themselves and their lives as we all know it. There are wonderful, bright shining examples of exemplary lives well lived and courage a plenty in Ecuador. Tragically, because most Ecuadoreans lied a lot to themselves and their surroundings, the fundamental efforts to tell the truth and enjoy freedom today in Ecuador are massively more difficult if not deadly. It is a tragedy that it had to come to this due to unbridled laziness, ennui and self deception but….it did. And so we are all the happier to report that these days shows a wonderful and inspiring rebirth of citizen power to inform the purple curtain cartel of Rafael Correa that none will take his abuses any more and demand reforms. This is inspiring and uplifting. We urge concrete steps to upend the abuse of Ecuadoreans by Ecuadoreans and a stay to this madness that is Ecuador.

Ecuador loses global affection because Ecuador as a nation is lawless, with no justice: just Correa’s vendettas against innocents who may cross his path as he is determined to force Ecuador to replicate the tender justices of Castro’s Cuba where none have justice. Here is what happens when Ecuadoreans care nothing about the world around them and pretend that they can run away and hide: crime and lawlessness rises and lives on this Earth are cheapened because respect for life and property by communists and cartel runners care nothing for the common good. But you should. You could be next:

Ecuador: Kidnapping Threat, Blackouts, Crime in Quito
By Larry Habegger   November 25th, 2009   World Travel Watch

The U.S. Embassy in Quito urged Americans visiting or resident in Ecuador to be vigilant about their personal security following the kidnapping for ransom of an American traveling in the northern province of Carchi near the Colombian border. The 24-year-old was abducted in the city of Tulcan Oct. 17 but was rescued 21 days later. Police made one arrest in the case. Ecuador has also been experiencing frequent power outages, which create opportunities for criminals, so travelers and residents should be prepared with flashlights and candles. The Embassy also reported that several recent robberies occurred in Quito’s Monteserrin neighborhood, where visitors should be especially aware of their surroundings.

As for Correa and his Purple Curtain Cartel, all Ecuadoreans know very well that this submersion of Ecuador into a fake democracy with a false face of Castro’s Cuba, chock full of Iranian dirty money and lawlessness, is not working. Jobs are gone, serenity banished, freedoms barred and the days of our lives cheapened by the Quito leadership with all the morals of a Gay Man’s Bath House, while dishonestly declaring that they are True Believers in some revisionist fake version of Liberation Theology, as declared by Rafael Correa, who never once understood moral values or stewardship ever. If Ecuadoreans seek an end to the fake democracy they are losing under, then Ecuadoreans must stand for the real thing….this will take some real effort but it can be done.

If Ecuadoreans seek an end to Correa’s lawlessness, then Ecuadoreans must insist that lawfulness of and by the common good be Correa’s every liberty-yielding governance with full transparency and accountability. If Correa will not commit and deliver these basics, then Ecuadoreans know that Correa has broken his bond of leadership. Ecuadoreans then need to so state the facts as to what exactly occurred to reach the conclusion that Correa has broken his leadership- his presidency- and when. And following this robust Statement of Facts, Ecuadoreans then need to lawfully act to review, impeach and remove Correa and his Purple Cartel.

Here are news reports from Guayaquil and Quito of the brave Ecuadoreans stating that they are just not going to take this any more. They want their freedom back. They want Correa gone. Freedom, however is a matter to work for every day. One cannot pretend that by ignoring the hard work of free and fair nations for years that magically all will be well. No indeed. Freedom must be worked for and cherished every day, no respect intended at all for the lazy, drunks who like to tell us that they can manipulate their way to fame and glory. Their way does not work.

Here at Ecuadorenvivo you can watch the videos on the massive protests against Communism, againstCorrea, held yesterday in Quito.

We at ECrisis remind that to be a truth teller one must be… a truth teller. Because no truth tellers stand up, Carlos Vera, who is not a truth teller, gains popularity. His so called plan for the opposition is vapid, aberrant and dysfunctional. The good will of the people deserves better. Cesar Montufar, highly praised by the US Embassy from the Adolfo Franco-Roger Noriega years, co funded through all manner of liars and manipulators from US AID to actually weaken and hurt Ecuador’s truth tellers, is not your savior and he never will be. We are glad to see Montufar out and about but he will never be the savior you seek to rise from these streets. No indeed. Look to yourself and encourage all good minds and souls around you. We are all rejecting the new Media Law- it is draconian and unacceptable. But have a care to also remove the constitutional backing for the new Gag Law too from that disgusting 9-08 constitution which you never read. This ALBA constitution gives the lay to the  landscape under which you do now suffer under Correa’s Purple Cartel. Remove it. It is not simply a matter of banning the new Media Law: take out or amend the 9-08 constitution and Correa’s own private dictatorship law: MANDATE1. Void these and strip Correa of his total powers. Otherwise, like Montufar, you have and hold a thing half done, half baked and hardly satisfying…and still part and parcel of the same Purple Curtain. You will also have to ignore the U.S. Embassy in Quito. This team has had and held years and years of aiding and abetting the Correa-ALBA constitution and his total take down of Ecuador. Not surprising is the Embassy’s current scramble to try to look as if they have not wasted tens and tens of millions of U.S. tax dollars building the ruinous government of Correa which is disgraceful. Just ignore them- they are shameful and love Iran and Chavez anyway even as they help build the FARC businesses in Ecuador. Carlos Vera may seem full of zeal these days but he is not your leader either, being shallow, vapid and vain as well. Vera neither has the tools to rebuild Ecuador nor the desire. You deserve better and can have better under a united effort to get your country back.

We look forward to sincerely commending Ecuadorean democracy builders. But…it is not this day. Not yet.

-Pedro Camargo for ECrisis
