and all IDB-USAID Monies Yanked

March 28, 2009   We at ECrisis wonder if the very thing that journalist Palacio demanded- and got- a socialist-Cuban communist paradise under his desired Correa-ALBA-Cuban constitution is now known to him as the very tool- the legal blunt object that hits him over the head and sends him to jail for using free speech?

Does El Universo’s Marxist journalist Palacio, always pro Correa and pro Cuba understand that even this singular instance when he decried Correa’s efforts against God given rights to liberty that the man he backed, Rafael Correa is not worth backing? Did Palacio have a moment when he converted from Marxism to true freedom loving? We do not know. But we do know that his life is under assault for using free speech as a writer. Now Palacio’s life is shattered by the very life he adored foolishly for far too long. This is not a tale of love gone bad but a tale of what always happens under the ethos of  Correa’s cartel of Cuban communists.

We can only hope that professional idiots like Mr. Palacio of Guayaquil will never ever ever vote to support Cuban cartel communists like Rafael Correa and we further hope that their continuing  lies in support of Correa’s lies will end. In other words, Palacio was caught by the very system he was selling- communism- and he does now suffer.

Do not misunderstand us: we find ourselves in the very unhappy and uncomfortable place of having to defend the formerly known as useful idiot for Marxism Palacio along with the honorable Cardinal Archbishop of Guayaquil and General Gallardo, the latter two living their days honorably while Palacio never did. It is hard to make a saint out of the sinner Palacio but we will forge ahead and declare in one voice that although Palacio is no saint, he has committed no sin in using the very liberties in open media and free speech that he himself thoughtlessly would brazen onward under Correa’s Cuban communism. Never has a man’s judgment, based on standard Ecuadorean discernment [which always fails] in wholly undereducated and  uneducated and shallow analysis, been so wrong and affect so many. Palacio’s acts- and his fate- are what happens in a nation and in a time when truth telling- like rule of law- is off the menu and the rampant demand that all praise and honor Correa’s lies- because he wants what he wants when he wants it- is what runs Ecuador today. Like manipulative girls with an 8th grade education and the common sense of a cross-dressing Barbie Doll, Rafael Correa insists that all of life revolve around his needs, his demands and his truths which are self-serving manias, as such manipulators always are.

And who does Correa’s little outfits? Who does his look? Who pays for these costumes? Worse yet, Correa’s CFN pays monies to defend its own crimes with one of the worst, most dishonest lawyers in Ecuador, Mr. Gutemberg Vera, no one to be confused with the Guttenberg Bible. Ecuadoreans are paying for this and the Inter American Development Bank- viz its development monies, unaudited, unaccountable as their money is today because the IDB’s own in-Ecuador employees care nothing that Correa calls his own abuse of power… development. This charade of helping Correa help freedom and help “develop” Ecuador is such a disgraceful farce that we can only hope that the IDB immediately fires its own incompetent souls inside Ecuador who have allowed this fraud for too long of its own monies and that the government of Correa restores to the IDB all IDB monies it has singularly mangled, abused, stolen and applied to commit further totalitarian crimes. There is no basis for any multilateral funding inside Ecuador today> All funds are abused and used to craft harm to local citizens, furthering Correa’s clamp down and shut down of freedoms. This would be like the IDB funding Castro to further repress Cubans and toss even more in jail…same song, second verse. In Ecuador, the co-mingled….and do not embarrass yourself further by denying this co-funding, CFN with “development” monies from US AID and the IDB does now even abuse more money to sue the writer Mr. Palacio who has committed no crime….except the now-standard Ecuadorean crime of stupidly believing that Correa’s harsh dictatorial rules apply to everyone but him. In his stupidity, Palacio believed he could out manipulate Correa the dishonest manipulator. This never works. All Ecuadoreans today are mandated to act to enable Correa’s shallow, fetid manipulative world view. If you enjoy serving as an enabler, you really should have your own head examined: it never ever works. You think it will and you believe that you buy peace in your days by giving in over and over to Correa’s girlie-girl demands, his tirades, his anger…but it is always there, lurking, demanding. No enabler ever ever has an honest life because the enabler becomes the slave to the manipulator, precisely as a co-addict. Know what your Correa is and prepare. Lives are ruined every single time these addicts demand enabling. There is only their demands and none others.

As for Sr. Palacio, he always assumed that freedom of speech and open media would magically be his even if he ardently supported Marxist-communist ALBA Correa. He never ever took the time to connect the facts that Correa demanded total control over the media and what and how one speaks. Mr. Palacio assumed- as all Ecuadoreans are taught to assume- that he alone could manipulate his way around Correa and that he alone would not have the law and rules of and by Correa applied to him. Mr. Palacio is an unsympathetic loser: he promoted Correa and his totalitarian state. And now he enjoys a hefty fine and a prison sentence for his meager, tepid effort to state that Correa is not the honorable man that Ecuadoreans think he is and that Correa is a failure. Do ya’ think?

We ask about Correa’s ridiculous and adolescent costumes….and who pays for these. More seriously, we do ask for a total and complete cancellation of all so-called “democracy and development” monies to Correa’s Ecuador for its total abuse of international assistance to abridge the very things he had sworn to uphold, but of course never intended to do and does now fully break all bonds of sane and open democracy inside Ecuador.

The Inter American Development Bank must yank its money to Correa’s government. The IDB is not in the business of funding totalitarian regimes to toss innocent speakers into jail just because Correa is “offended” by anyone speaking truth to his false power. No World Bank, no IMF and no Andean or OAS monies – not one penny- should appear with Correa because Correa is neither accountable nor transparent nor does the ethically and financially Correa team do anything but abuse the gifts of the international community and spends their money criminally to shut down one of the core elements of democracy- the rights by God- not Correa- to use free speech through open media.

We call in the IDB and the unaccountable US AID viz the US Embassy in Quito to cease and desist all so called development loans, gifts, grants and funding unless and until Correa rescinds/revokes his new media and speech shut down mandates. Correa’s snarky December, 2009 Media Gag Law was so hated that he pulled back a while. But like all addicts to manipulative living, Correa waited a few months and delivered the same- even more capricious and arbitrary demands through another Free Speech Ending series of regulations and Mandates, always hiding from plain sight the heavy hammer of his machinations while declaring himself as the one and only purveyor of integrity and honor. To further enable this fraud- this manipulator of Ecuadoreans- is a disgusting adventure which the IDB and US AID must stop now.

We can only ponder what the hapless and stupid former acolyte of Correa, Sr. Palacio would think of the IDB and US AID once he figures out that the Clinton-Obama team is helping fund Correa’s so called “development agency” – the very agency that destroyed  his life simply because he spoke the truth?

Someone needs to ask Heather Hodges how she is sleeping at night. Like The U.S. Department of State’s Arturo Valenzuela, we are confident that ignorance of all fraud gifts untroubled sleep. The problem is, many Ecuadoreans are now in peril or in prison or have had their lives ruined by Correa using the very gifts that the USA and the IDB bring to Quito.

For our “development” friends, we urge you to stop now. Just stop it. Your unaudited and wild eyed support for Correa’s repressive Cuban communist regime is now a huge part of ending the very things you claim to uphold. As with Cuba, there is no development in Ecuador. There is only the expanding cartel, currently throwing “development” cash grants around the country and buying more and more popularity upticks for the seriously unpopular Correa. Bribery and abuse of donated monies to present a false face of popularity only lasts so long, even inside the morally vacated and easy to bribe Ecuador. But for the IDB and US AID, what their money is doing to enable and aid this fraud, abuse of democracy and installation of Correa’s total cartel regime is a huge part of this crime. We urge the USA and the IDB to yank their dollars- mostly from the American taxpayers- now or explain to the USA why their dishonesty was more urgent than honesty.

We look for formal statements from US AID and the IDB that they have fired all their dishonest in-Ecuador “democracy and development” employees and cancelled all enabling of crime monies to Correa’s iron, albeit rusted to a pink, curtain. These monies are illegally spent to enable Correa’s ham fisted acts and to hand out bribes by Correa to boost his polling popularity, to co fund, under the ruse of “development and democracy building assistance, Correa’s expensive propaganda campaigns [also called his USA lobbyists and liars] and to kill off any who dare to whisper that Correa has ended the very things he swore to uphold.
 
Sincere development partners with the truth, with transparency and accountability while insuring no fraud and no theft of development monies to build more Cuban communism inside Ecuador. The IDB and US AID have been partners to build Correa’s crime spree for too long now. Like the husband of an alcoholic, for too long their denial and enabling of Correa’s addictions have perpetrated this criminal adventurism in Quito. US AID monies are not to be enmeshed with criminal Correa enterprises to toss innocent persons in jail. Mr. Palacio is not the first- there are scores and scores of identical cases by Correa underway- and he will not be the last unless the USA and the IDB cancel now their freedom-ending enabling and dishonest monies to Correa.

One should be asking how much money from the IDB and/or the U.S. taxpayer aka US AID’s development assistance to Correa is funneled illegally to Correa for his incredulous, specious lawyers to fight America’s third largest employer as Correa and his gaggle of lawyers seek to bankrupt this company, along with many others. How much “development” money, like the abuse to shutter free speech and open media in Ecuador by Correa, have the North Americans actually co-funded? We do not know the answers. You deserve the answers however ugly. Correa has no money- he has bankrupted Ecuador. Correa has his hands on some wads of cash to toss around and bribe Ecuadoreans with a false face of money flowing. Correa is getting money from dark places or abusing money for foul deeds. We do know that under all bonds of decency, these funding schemes and scams must be revealed.

Correa’s team of paid bully boys were caught on video Friday illegally beating the daylights out of General Gallardo while he was trying to exercise his protests. Have these known perps who illegally beat up an old man- the hero of the Cenepa, been brought to justice? No indeed. Correa’s “development” team of paid Cuban intel officials and paid Chavista thugs… continue to “develop” Ecuador in unholy lock step as Castro and Mahmoud advise. The USA and all multilateral funders must state that enough is enough and do the legal thing: cancel their now-abused gifts, currently used to jack boot the entire nation of Ecuador because….state sponsor of terror and drug king pin Rafael Correa wants what he wants. And what he wants is not healthy at all. There is no normal “pendulum” of public opinion permissible under the Correa regime. All normal ups and downs are now jiggered. There is only the hard, long work ahead to rebuild, step by step, the Ecuadorean addiction to addictive, manipulative living. Unless and until this trend is abridged, all life is irrelevant as it is relegated in full service to serving Correa’s machinations and all freedoms end. No one inside a manipulative relationship is honest and their days are not honorable. There is no room for growth and no “development” possible.
