Correa’s Bridge to Nowhere – Nowhere Good or Legal
November 7, 2010 Of all the things that Ecuador needs, one of them is not president Rafael Correa’s false polemic that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is evil and Correa’s bankrupt, unaccountable and wildly self enriching cartel is pure heaven.
For our part, we care nothing for the European socialist IMF but it sure beats Correa’s Cuban communism of non truths and complete opacity under his total control any day. And so, we hear Correa telling us of his joy. A bridge in Manabi as a transformative social engineering stance. Manabi… where all things illicit are now on the move- in transport for better criminal cartel movements…by land, sea and air.

Correa: A New Ecuador is Possible
QUITO - More important than technology, "this bridge means the new Ecuador, fulfilling the dream of building a homeland in progress and improving the living conditions of our communities," President Rafael Correa said at the inauguration of the country's largest bridge.
Addressing some 50,000 people in Manabi province, Correa yesterday inaugurated the Los Caras Bridge, a name honoring the pre-Inca civilization that lived on both sides of the Chone River.
The president reiterated the accomplishment of the popular mandate, and highlighted that the construction of the 1,980-meter bridge entailed an investment of US$102.88 million.
The government did not have to sign any letter of intent with the International Monetary Fund, he stressed.
"We are been told that we have to build bridges, and here are the bridges, an achievement is worth more than 1,000 words. We are simply doing what we have to do: fulfill the mandate the people gave us at the polls," he said.
"The people's joy is my joy. It is the enthusiasm of an entire country that sees that we are not talking of a period of change, but living a true change of period," Correa affirmed.
"For each murderous bullet, we will build bridges, schools, hospitals, and health centers all over the country," the president stated, referring to the attempted coup.
